Back in 1999, fighting game Guilty Gear got an unexpected mention from then President of the United States Bill Clinton, with the politician condemning an advertisement for the game that sported the slogan “kill your friends, guilt free.” Now, Clinton has been given a front-row seat to the game’s violent action, with a portrait of the former president appearing in Guilty Gear Strive‘s latest update.

The original Guilty Gear was just one of a number of game mentioned by Clinton in a 1999 speech warning about video game violence, with the politician specifically concerned about violent messaging in video game ads. While a number of game taglines were read out in the speech, Clinton holds up an image of the offending Guilty Gear ad, specifically singling out the fighting game.

While Clinton’s speech didn’t seem to make a big impact at the time, the clip resurfaced on social media earlier this year. Guilty Gear fans took the presidential condemnation as a badge of honor, especially considering the cult classic game was fairly niche when it first released in the US.

Now, over two decades after his campaign against Guilty Gear’s supposed violent messaging, Clinton has been immortalized within the game. Eagle-eyed fans spotted a blurry but still distinctly recognisable rendition of the white-haired politician within the game’s Digital Figure mode, which was added to strive in the latest update.

The latest update arrived on March 28, adding the new White House Reborn stage as well as new character Testament, and the Digital Figure mode. Developer Arc System Works has also announced its plans for the game’s second season pass, which will include four new playable characters, as well as adding cross-platform play between PlayStation consoles and PC.

Developer Respawn has more current-gen updates planned for the future, with both the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions getting 120Hz gameplay and additional visual and audio improvements. On top of that, the PS5 version of Apex Legends will get DualSense adaptive trigger and haptic feedback support.

On Xbox Series X|S, the current-gen version of Apex Legends will download automatically via Smart Delivery. However, you’ll have to go through a few steps to download the current-gen version on PS5, which will keep playing the PS4 version unless you tell it not to.

To download the PS5 version, first go to the Apex Legends game hub on the PS5 dashboard. Next, click “Options,” and then “Select Version.” You should see an option to specify that you want to download the PS5 version of the game. Be sure to also delete the PS4 version from your console.

The Warriors Collection Event also brings back limited-time mode Control with a new map set in the Caustic Treatment point-of-interest on Kings Canyon. Unlocking all 24 epic and legendary cosmetics in the event’s collection will net you Crypto’s heirloom–one of the many new items revealed in a big Apex Legends leak.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands features plenty of freedom in how you build your character. You can go all-in on one skill tree, or you can even split some points with a secondary class for a very specific build once you unlock multiclassing. But what happens if you misplace a point or get tired of your current setup? Well, although you can’t change your character’s main class, you can absolutely respec your skill points and choose a different secondary class–but it won’t be available right away. Let’s walk you through when and how to make it happen.

How to respec

You may be hoping that you can redistribute your points relatively early in the game, but sadly, that won’t be possible. Instead, you’ll have to complete all 10 chapters and reach the epilogue before you’ll unlock the option to make these changes. As frustrating as that might be, much of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is based around the endgame grind, so you’ll still have plenty of game to push through once you’ve reached the ability to respec.

Once you’ve completed the game and entered the epilogue, respeccing is a quick and painless affair. Simply head back to Brighthoof and make your way to the tavern where you’ll find an NPC who will fill you in on your new ability to redistribute your skill and hero points and alter your secondary class.

Be careful where you put your skill and hero points, as you can’t respec until you’re in the game’s epilogue.

You can change your build at the Quick-Change Station, which can be found in the Brighthoof Tavern or the endgame area known as the Chaos Chamber. Simply access the station and then select “Reset Skills.” By doing so, you’ll be able to redistribute things as you wish. Choosing to respec in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will require you to spend 10% of your total money, so just remember that you’ll be taking a noticeable hit to your overall finances if you happen to be carrying around quite a lot of cash.

If you missed out on Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart last year, now’s your chance to grab it for the lowest price we’ve seen. GameFly has marked the PS5 exclusive down to just $30 for a limited time. Yes, this is a “used” copy of the game, but GameFly always includes the original case and all inserts. We’ve had great experiences purchasing games from GameFly. Plus, you’re getting the game for more than 50% off its retail price. You can’t beat that, especially considering that it’s a must-play PS5 game.

The latest Ratchet & Clank game is a great graphical showcase that pops with color on charm on the screen, while also being a prime example of just how quickly the PS5 can load up a game that has been fine-tuned for its cutting-edge SSD.

Not just a good-looking game, the latest adventure from developer Insomniac Games is also a ton of fun to play. In our Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart review, we scored the game 9/10 and remarked about its genuinely additive DualSense integration, gorgeous presentation, and heartwarming story.

“Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is flashy and technically impressive without feeling self-important,” critic Steve Watts said. It’s just as silly, sweet, and earnest as the Ratchet & Clank series tends to be, while the new generation of hardware makes this entry look and play better than ever. Like the heroes and villains and their dimensional counterparts, this one may appear different or carry itself with a new accent, but there’s an underlying truth to the person underneath.”

The PlayStation 5 is well into its second year–despite the ongoing shortages making it so many still can’t buy one–and if Sony’s historical release cadence holds true this generation, that means we could see a revised version around the end of next year. Sony has not confirmed a PlayStation 5 Pro or any other upgraded console, but given that there was a three-year gap between the original PS3 and its revised Slim model, as well as the PS4 and PS4 Pro, we could very well see a new and improved PS5 next year.

But just what does “new and improved” mean for the PS5? How can Sony boost performance and change the physical design to make the PS5 Pro a must-have system, even for those who already own a PS5?

Make it smaller and ditch the curves

Just look at this difference

Remember when the Xbox Series X was first unveiled and people joked about how enormous it was, eventually leading to the production of an actual (terrible) refrigerator? By comparison, the PS5’s design is so much more unwieldy because in addition to being far taller than the Xbox Series X, it’s curved on both sides. This necessitates a stand to even place the console horizontally, which doesn’t work all that well, and makes it hard to place on a shelf or in an entertainment center. Look, we get it: “Futuristic” is more interesting. But with a mid-generation revision, go back to a boring, boxy, and practical design for the console.

More storage space

The PS5 comes equipped with a woefully small NVMe SSD, an odd 825GB unit that actually only has about 667GB of usable space after accounting for the system OS and other mandatory files. A full terabyte drive is needed on an upgraded system at the absolute minimum, but Sony should really consider putting 2TB or even more in the PS5 Pro. Game sizes, while slightly smaller than they could have been because of new-gen compression technology, are still enormous. Having to pick and choose which games to delete or keep after just installing a few of them doesn’t feel very “Pro,” does it?

Easier storage expansion

Make it easier than this

On Xbox Series X|S, adding more NVMe storage space is as easy as buying an expansion card and plugging it into the back of the console. There’s no guesswork or disassembly involved at all. On PS5, adding more NVMe storage space requires you to buy a third-party drive with a heatsink, partially disassemble the console, and install the new drive in a slot with a screwdriver. Sure, nothing is left poking out of your system this way, but a plug-and-play solution seems like it would definitely be preferable. Having this as an official option from Sony rather than relying on a single third-party manufacturer would be preferable, as well.

A better DualSense controller

The DualSense controller is very impressive, but its battery life is not. You can only get a handful of hours out of it before it needs to be recharged, and though this is certainly something that could be addressed before a PS5 Pro is released, it would be perfect to package the new system with a new-and-improved DualSense. Not only would we like to see better battery life, but also a removable battery so you can swap to a new pack instead of having to get a second controller to keep playing while the first one charges. Sony’s current non-removable battery means when the battery kicks the bucket for good, so does your controller, and that’s an unnecessary waste. Since it’s a “pro” console, why not include a premium controller, too? Extra paddles similar to the PS4’s back button accessory would make it even better, as would ensuring you can update it without having to connect it physically to the console.

Native 4K with no compromises

Native 4K with a silky frame rate, not a choice between the two.

We’ve been promised “true 4K gaming” for years, across multiple generations and from multiple brands. However, this often comes with a choice between higher resolution or higher frame rate, and as anyone who plays action-centric games knows, the latter is almost always the better option. This leaves you without native 4K resolution to actually have your games playing the best, and the PS5 Pro needs to have the power necessary to rectify this. Nothing on the console should require a 30fps frame rate in order to have native 4K resolution. The standard should be 60fps at the bare minimum, letting us experience games with all the graphical bells and whistles without sacrificing playability. This would presumably require a better, pricier GPU that would drive up the cost of the system, but for an enthusiast-focused Pro model, that seems like an acceptable trade-off.

Make it quieter

This isn’t nearly as big of a problem on PS5 as it was on PS4, but the console is still too loud. It isn’t fan noise, however, that causes it–there is considerable coil or capacitor whine. Play a graphically intensive game at a lower volume and you will likely hear a buzz or hum coming from the PS5, and one that seems to change pitch depending on what you’re doing. It’s not a dealbreaker, particularly if you have the speakers at a reasonable volume, but a solution to this would make it much less distracting. It wouldn’t necessarily have to even eliminate the noise, but just drastically reduce it. It could be as simple as replacing one capacitor inside–which Sony would have to examine when doing the console redesign.

After a month in the wild, Elden Ring players have begun to discover creative builds for their Tarnished avatars. Take YouTuber Adam Barker for example, who uploaded a video of his almost-unstoppable warrior who can be seen annihilating other players when he invades their realms.

As spotted by Eurogamer, Barker’s build uses the Ironjar Aromatic consumable to turn his character’s body into steel by consuming focus points. Cerulean Hidden Tear and Crimsonwhorl Bubbletear in his mixed Physik flask cancel out the FP consumption and also convert damage into health points, while Unendurable Frenzy caps off the build by unleashing devastating flames of frenzy.

While the build doesn’t make Barker completely unstoppable, it’s still powerful enough to make him a walking nightmare for any solo player who encounters him during an invasion.

Elden Ring recently received its first major post-launch patch–rest in peace character builds focused on Moonveil Katana–and one YouTuber recently discovered how faithful steed Torrent almost had its own attack.

For a great comparison, you can also see how Elden Ring and Tunic take different approaches to mystery and showcase alternative design philosophies.

Fortnite has held Star Wars crossover events before, and it looks like this partnership is set to continue by bringing back the franchise’s iconic melee weapon. A leak has revealed that lightsabers might be coming back to Fortnite in a future update.

A Fortnite dataminer has apparently discovered that Chapter 3 Season 2 will add four different lightsabers including Kylo Ren’s crossguard, Luke’s green lightsaber, Rey’s blue energy sword, and Mace Windu’s purple blade. Players will apparently be able to strike and block with the Lightsabers, just like they could when these same four lightsabers came to Fortnite before. See some footage below.

— LunakisLeaks – Fortnite Dataminer (@LunakisLeaks) March 25, 2022

Lightsabers were initially added to Fortnite in 2019 and came back in May 2020 to celebrate Star Wars Day. With Star Wars Day 2022 coming up soon on May 4, 2022, it seems likely that lightsabers could return to Fortnite around then. Keep checking back with GameSpot for the latest.

In other Fortnite news, Chapter 3 Season 2’s Resistance event is going on now. Among other things, it adds a new no-building mode, additional overshields, and more. Check out GameSpot’s Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 rundown to learn more.

Epic Games and Xbox are donating proceeds from Fortnite to Ukrainian relief efforts until April 3, and so far, the campaign has brought in more than $70 million.

There’s plenty of loot to earn and grab from defeated enemies in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, but some of the best gear in the game can only be unlocked–literally!–by paying a visit to Brighthoof and the treasure chest that lies in front of Queen Butt Stallion’s castle.

Similar to Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 3, you’ll need to keep your eye on Gearbox’s social media accounts to earn a few skeleton keys, which can then be redeemed in the game or on the Shift website. Here’s how it works.

Where to find Shift Keys

The Brighthoof treasure chest holds some great loot.

You can visit Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford’s Twitter account, as he regularly hands out Borderlands 2 and 3 golden keys on his social media, and he’ll likely have a few Wonderlands skeleton keys to pass out regularly. These keys usually have a short shelf-life as well–sometimes only 24 hours–so it pays to check in often.

How to redeem Shift Keys

Shift key redemption page

There are two ways to do so. The easiest method is to head directly to the Shift website, link your account, and paste a key right there for quick rewards. The alternative method is through the in-game menu inside of Wonderlands, which can be found by pressing pause and navigating to Social, where you’ll input the code. Once you’ve done so using either method, you can grab your rewards from the Mail section in the same menu.

Current Shift codes

Right now there’s only one code available, and it’ll grant you a single skeleton key. This one can be redeemed on all platforms–PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X–when you reach Brighthoof.
