When Diablo Immortal was announced at BlizzCon 2018 as a free-to-play, mobile-only entry in Blizzard’s storied ARPG franchise, it was met with a tepid response from fans. One player in attendance went so far to ask if the game was an out of season April Fool’s joke on Blizzard’s part.

Flash forward to now, after Blizzard recently announced Diablo Immortal would also be coming to PC (in what is being labeled a beta) with full cross-play and cross-progression with mobile, and the fan reaction has changed. Many players are now cautiously optimistic about the franchise’s foray into mobile and free-to-play.

That’s good news, because while Diablo Immortal might not look it at first glance, it’s shaping up to be a major game-changer for the franchise going forward, sporting MMO-like social features, an emphasis on PvP, and a live-service, “living game” strategy never before seen in the history of Diablo.

For the Diablo franchise’s most dedicated fans, it was the news the game would also come to PC that helped reset the stage following the disaster that was Diablo Immortal’s official announcement. Back then, it was immediately clear Diablo fans wanted the option to play Diablo Immortal on PC, but it took Blizzard time–over three years–to make that wish a reality.

According to senior game designer Scott Burgess, who recently spoke with GameSpot, Blizzard knew following the game’s announcement that fans wanted to be able to play Diablo Immortal on PC. Combined with the realization that dedicated PC players would simply use mobile emulators to access the game on PC regardless, Blizzard began the process of creating the PC version to ensure players would have an official PC experience. As for why it took so long to officially announce Diablo Immortal for PC, Burgess said it came down to polish.

“Part of the reason we waited so long was we wanted to make sure the polish of the game was at a point where we were happy with it and happy to release it simultaneously with the mobile launch,” Burgess said. “We feel like it’s at a really good point.”

Diablo Immortal will feature numerous MMO-like elements, such as multiplayer hub towns, eight-player raids, PvP battlegrounds, and the ambitious Cycle of Strife system. Those are all firsts for the franchise, and some of those features–like various PvP modes and a multiplayer hub town–were ideas that originated during Diablo III’s development.

Diablo Immortal’s Barbarian plays exactly like fans of the franchise expect.

While Diablo Immortal is breaking new ground both as the franchise’s first mobile and free-to-play entry and as a more social-focused, live-service MMO, it was important that the game feel like a true Diablo experience. The game may feature MMO elements, but don’t expect to find the “holy trinity” of MMO class design anywhere among Diablo Immortal’s character classes, which includes the Barbarian, Monk, Crusader, Demon Hunter, Necromancer, and Wizard at launch.

“These classes are true Diablo classes,” Burgess said. “They are very similar to previous Diablo games. We’re not relying on the holy trinity of healer, tank, and damage. All these classes can deal damage and have a great time. We do have a few Paragon trees that have group bonuses that make you more lethal when in a group with other classes, but ultimately the goal was to just make classes that feel great, and we did a lot of testing and balancing to make sure they were all on equal footing.”

Diablo is known for its huge numbers of enemies, impressive skills, and piles of loot, and having all of that happen on the smaller screen of a mobile device, rather than a large PC monitor, proved to be the main challenge for the game’s art design, according to lead artist Hunter Schulz.

“That’s where a lot of the art style fell into place,” Schulz said. “Obviously some of it is a stylistic decision, but a lot of that style comes through a practical way of making sure it’s readable. Using bolder shapes, making sure the silhouettes are readable, so you can not only enjoy the designs of the characters and zones but also so you can understand what you’re doing. When you’re playing the game, if you can’t see your character or the spells you’re putting down, then we’ve failed. You need to be able to understand and appreciate the designs we’ve made.”

Legendary gems are among the most powerful and sought after items in Diablo Immortal.

As with any free-to-play experience, there have been concerns over how Blizzard is monetizing the game. There will be a paid battle pass and premium cosmetics, which are par-for-the-course for a free-to-play live-service game and almost expected at this point. However, players are more worried about items that can be purchased with real money called Legendary Crests. These items, which based on the Diablo Immortal beta gave players who purchased them a much easier and better chance of obtaining the game’s most rare and powerful gems compared to free-to-play players, have caused some to raise the dreaded “pay to win” alarm. Burgess didn’t address that point specifically but said the goal is to ensure the game is fun for everyone, regardless if a player is spending money or not.

“Going back, I played the beta without spending a dollar,” Burgess said. “There were a few of us on the team that did that because we wanted to see what the experience was like. And I will say that I was in a top Dark House in the Shadows, I kept up with World Paragon, I was competitive in PvP, I would often get the MVP ranking. So we’re doing things to make sure the game is fun for everyone. Anytime we have a purchase, we want to make sure it’s a good value. That’s kind of the goal we have on that side.”

All of Diablo Immortal’s actual gameplay content is free, and that will extend to new classes, zones, and dungeons which will be added post-launch. For players who don’t want to spend a dime, there’s a free battle pass that offers plenty of rewards in the form of items, currencies, and upgrade materials. Additionally, there were plenty of ideas that didn’t make it into Diablo Immortal at launch, Burgess said, which could come to the game for free in future patches.

“We’re going to continue to release content on a regular cadence,” Burgess said. “Our goal is every few months we’re going to release either a new dungeon or zone, and with that comes brand-new story content players can play through.” According to Burgess, the main campaign at launch takes around 20 hours to complete.

Whether Diablo Immortal can stick the landing of walking the line between a true Diablo experience and a free-to-play MMO remains to be seen, but Burgess thinks players will be surprised at both the scale of Diablo Immortal and its place in the franchise.

“It’s a game that feels like a true Diablo game,” Burgess said. “It’s dark, gritty. It’s going to make all the Diablo fans that loved getting scared doing dungeon crawls, they’re going to love it. But it’s also a very approachable game for players who’ve never tried a Diablo game before.”

Diablo Immortal launches for iOS, Android, and PC on June 2. It’s available for pre-load on PC now.

Everwild, Rare’s co-op action-adventure game set in a world of magnificent flora and fauna, was first revealed in 2019, but now, three years later, we arguably know less than we did back then. The reasons for that are complex, but there’s still plenty to be excited about if you’re waiting for what should be a visual feast at the very least. Here’s everything we know about Everwild so far.

Release date and “reboot”

Everwild is currently without a release date, in part because the game has allegedly gone under an internal reboot, with development on the game reportedly proving more difficult than once expected. According to a VGC report, the game has been “completely” rebooted under Rare’s Gregg Mayles (who also worked on Sea of Thieves) following the departure of Creative Director Simon Woodroffe. The game is now said to be “optimistically” targeting a 2024 launch.

That leaves Everwild in a very uncertain state, at least according to what we last heard publicly. A “complete reboot” with a turnaround of two or three years may not be enough time for what is likely to be Rare’s next major project, but then again, games are so often delayed anyway, maybe the 2024 date being floated by some credible reports can be thrown out as highly unlikely.

Matt Booty, head of Xbox Game Studios, did try to quiet some concerns last year following the report of a reboot. “What is Rare known for? They’re known for creating new IP and creating worlds. And I’ll say, when you look at it from the outside and you hear words like ‘reset’ and ‘restructure,’ those are probably a little more definite and a little more extreme than what really happens as a game comes to life,” Booty said on Kinda Funny.

Everwild: So…what is it?

We can’t be sure what Everwild will be in 2024 or beyond, but from trailers and leaks, we have some understanding of what it was going to be, anyway. Everwild has a similarly vibrant art style to Rare’s most recent game, Sea of Thieves. But it trades the salty seas and sandy beaches for lush forests and bioluminescent creatures.

In this setting, trailers indicate players would be restoring magic to the land. There also seemed to be an emphasis on living harmoniously with nature, and while some more predatory creatures have appeared in trailers, the game’s original direction apparently excluded all combat. That design direction was cited as one of the issues that caused the delay, so it’s unclear if today, under Mayles’ leadership, the game will still be combat-free. Releasing a AAA action-adventure game without combat does sound intriguing, as it’s something so rarely even attempted.

The game’s cinematic trailers imply co-op gameplay, which makes sense following the co-op-heavy Sea of Thieves just came from the same studio four years ago and remains an ongoing focus for it. In the trailers we’ve seen so far, there is an emphasis on magical powers and taming, or perhaps just protecting, wild fantastical beings that somewhat resemble animals here on Earth, such as deer and wolves. As to whether or not it is an open world or not, what kind of character selection it includes, and what the central gameplay loop is, these are all great questions, but the answers are only found behind locked doors at Xbox Game Studios and Rare offices for now.

Currently there are far more questions than answers revolving around Everwild, but a studio as entrenched in the history of video games, like Rare is, has probably earned some patience from many fans. Hopefully we find out more about this one at the Xbox-Bethesda Showcase in June.

Preorders and Xbox Game Pass

Everwild isn’t available for preorder just yet, which makes sense since we don’t even know what it’ll be. However, you can bet Xbox Game Pass subscribers won’t need to preorder it–or even purchase it–for access. As Rare is a Microsoft-owned studio, Everwild will launch directly into Game Pass whenever it arrives, be that 2024 or beyond.

Rocksteady’s last game, Batman: Arkham Knight, released in 2015, which means it has been seven years since we played a new Rocksteady game. In video game time, that is an eternity. As a four-player co-op shooter, Suicide Squad is a big departure from its previous single-player action games, but we’re excited to see the studio tackle something new… even if it is taking place in a familiar universe.

Task Force X is either looking at a bird or a plane. There is nothing else it could be.

As we head into Summer Game Fest and all the various Not-E3 summer events, we decided to check in on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and outline everything we know about the game ahead of its 2023 release.

Release date

Despite the game’s announcement and follow-up trailers boldly proclaiming a 2022 release window, Rocksteady announced earlier this year that it had made the “difficult decision” to push the game to 2023. On Steam, Suicide Squad is listed with a vague 2023 release date. On the PlayStation Store, the section of the page that would typically feature a release date simply displays the word, “Announced”.

Captain Boomerang calls The Flash Barry in one the trailer implying that his identity is widely known.

What we know

Suicide Squad is four-player co-op shooter that takes place after the events of the Batman Arkham trilogy of games and is set in Superman’s Metropolis. Following the city being taken over by Brainiac, high-ranking government official Amanda Waller assembes Task Force X, using Arkham Asylum as her base of operations. Waller then recruits Arkham’s most menacing minds to enter the invaded city and kill the members of the Justice League, most of whom appear to be under the control of Brainiac.

Purple eyes are not a good thing in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League

Task Force X is staffed by Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, and King Shark. Waller has ordered them, under threat of blowing up their heads, to kill the Justice League, which is currently composed of Superman, The Flash, Green Lantern, and potentially more. Wonder Woman is also present, but the footage shared in various trailers hints that she is not under the control of Brainiac. In fact, she is briefly seen fighting Superman in the most recent trailer for the game.

We still haven’t gotten a very good look at Wonder Woman, even after three trailers.

A few other characters have been shown, like Gizmo, the Teen Titans antagonist, and Oswald “The Penguin” Cobblepot with his broken glass bottle monocle from the Arkham games. There are a few references to Batman in the trailers even though he hasn’t actually physically appeared. After the events of Arkham Knight, it’s entirely possible that he is dead after enacting the Knightfall Protocol and blowing up Wayne Manor.

It’s not yet clear if Nolan North will be reprising his role as The Penguin.

The gameplay we’ve seen so far places an emphasis on cooperation, movement, and shooting. Harley Quinn uses a hookshot that attaches to floating bat-shaped platforms. Captain Boomerang uses some kind of warping technology to zip around the environment. Deadshot uses a jetpack to fly that can also be used as an offensive weapon. King Shark can jump incredible distances and also scale walls at high speed. Using all these abilities in tandem, the team has been shown fighting Brainiac’s invading alien army.

Amanda Waller is borrowing the likeness and voice of Debra Wilson, who also played Waller in Telltale’s Batman games, The Enemy Within.

The trailer features a few other teases, as well. There is a single shot of a vehicle with a bat symbol on the front shown driving through the city. It’s not the Batmobile, at least not one that has been in the Arkham games, but it does hint at the potential of driving to move around Metropolis.

It looks like someone stole the Bat Signal from Gotham.

What we want

Primarily, the main thing we want from Suicide Squad is a new Rocksteady game. The developer has proven itself multiple times over by creating not only some of the best licensed games ever, but also some of the best games ever. Its Batman Arkham trilogy is an undeniable showcase of technical know-how, game design, and fun storytelling. Our hopes for Suicide Squad is that it meets the high standards the studio has set for itself with its past games.

In the top left of this image, you can see Green Lantern’s symbol.

Rocksteady has confirmed Suicide Squad does take place inside its established Arkham Universe and we hope it acknowledges the groundwork it laid for its Batman games and picks up where Arkham Knight left off. It may be following new characters in a new city, but hopefully it doesn’t undo some of its boldest narrative decisions, like killing the Joker and leaving Batman and Alfred’s fate up in the air with Arkham Knight’s cliffhanger ending.

Superman is always showing off.

In the long term, we’d like to see more members of Suicide Squad be playable characters (Peacemaker is so hot right now) as well as new opponents to fight (what about Aquaman?). We also hope it is fun to play whether you’re alone, or with others.

Gizmo usually fights the Teen Titans. Fighting the Justice League could be considered an upgrade.

Platforms

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is releasing for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. It was never officially announced for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, but rumors and reporting prior to its official debut say that a last-gen version was in development at one time before they were abandoned and it became an exclusively next-gen title.

PC system specs

The game’s Steam page does not currently offer any details about system specs, but considering it will not be releasing for the previous generation of home consoles, it’s safe to assume it will be demanding.

Trailers

The announcement trailer is a pre-rendered affair, but it establishes the tone and gameplay style of the game, and also introduces evil Superman.

The second trailer focuses primarily on The Flash in terms of story, but also shows off plenty of gameplay.

The third trailer is the most dense and offers the most insight into the game’s story showing off characters like Amanda Waller and Gizmo, as well as the main Suicide Squad cast and the majority of the Justice League. This is the trailer that makes it the most clear that Wonder Woman is not under Brainiac’s control.

Multiplayer details

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is a four-player co-op game, but Rocksteady has assured the game can be played single-player. It’s unlikely the game will offer split-screen, but Rocksteady has neither confirmed nor denied this feature.

It’s important that you check if the eyes are purple before you start throwing punches.

Price and Preorder details

There is currently no way to pre-order the game either through retailers or through first-party platforms. On Steam and the PlayStation Store you can only add the game to your wishlist. There is no store page for the game on Xbox yet.

It’s a big year for Sonic the Hedgehog. The blue blur and Sega mascot already got a big-budget movie sequel and is preparing for a compilation game, but the centerpiece of the year appears to be Sonic Frontiers–an ambitious new 3D Sonic project boasting some of the best talent of past Sonic games. Details are scant on the new Sonic game so far, but we expect to see more as it prepares to speed towards its late 2022 release. Here’s everything we know, and everything we hope to see, from Sonic Frontiers.

A new “open-zone” Sonic

The new Sonic game appeared to be teasing Breath of the Wild vibes with its first image, showing Sonic standing on a cliffside overlooking a wide expanse of land. That was an indication of this game’s direction, which Sega is calling an “open-zone-inspired” approach.

Instead of a series of stages for Sonic to speed his way through, Sonic Frontiers takes place on Starfall Islands. The new area is a vast open-world area consisting of forests, waterfalls, and deserts. An early teaser showed off some of the environments, along with a huge boss encounter. Sega has not detailed how traditional Sonic elements like rings, bonus stages, and boss battles will work within this new context.

Aiming high

Sega is clearly intending this to be a prestige Sonic game. The open-world structure represents a major sea change to Sonic games. And it wants its review scores to match that ambition. In a recent Q&A with investors, Sega CEO Haruki Satomi and CFO Koichi Fukazama were asked about the company’s goals for the game’s quality. The executives said the team is working hard on improving the quality of the game, to the point that it gets high review scores and becomes a “must-buy” release.

Of course, lots of games aim for high scores–no developer or publisher intentionally puts out a dud. But it’s unusual for Sega executives to set this sort of ambitious target, and especially to do so publicly.

Developers developers developers

To the extent that Sega wants Sonic Frontiers to be a big success, it’s putting some of its most accomplished Sonic developers on the project. Sonic Team Japan is developing the project, led by Morio Kishimoto. Kishimoto was the director for Sonic Lost World, Sonic Forces, and Sonic Colors–the latter of which was highly regarded enough in the fan community to warrant a recent re-release on modern platforms.

Release date

Sega has not outlined a specific release date for Sonic Frontiers. So far, we only have a release window of late 2022.

Downloadable content

Sega has not announced any downloadable content or other post-launch support plans for Sonic Frontiers.

What we want

Gotta go fast

Speed is a major part of Sonic’s identity, but we want to see how that idea gets expressed in this new gameplay context. Whereas the 2D games tend to ping-pong Sonic around a stage so fast you can only barely keep up with obstacles, the 3D games have utilized more of a behind-the-back racing game style with some flourishes to keep it stylish. Putting the character in an open world presents new opportunities and challenges for his signature speed. The game should let you feel the freedom of zooming from one spot to the next with blistering speed, while also finding ways to avoid losing your momentum on random obstacles.

Just Sonic, please

Sonic’s extended cast of animal companions has taken a lot of blame for the series’ uneven quality. And while that criticism isn’t always fair–hey, leave Big the Cat alone, he didn’t hurt anybody–it is nevertheless true that such a sprawling cast can leave the game feeling unfocused and distract from what it is that’s supposed to make Sonic different: his speed. This open world will be a difficult concept to nail down with just one playable character, so let’s not dilute it with anyone else. Major characters like Tails and Knuckles can show up, but the game should put the focus squarely on Sonic.

Go Super Sonic

Open-world games can be great, but they can also suffer from a certain same-iness of pace and design that leaves the conclusion feeling empty. If Sonic is going to enter such a realm, do something big for the final act that makes it memorable and unique. Have a crashed Death Egg significantly change the landscape, for example, or give you a completely new traversal tool by unlocking Super Sonic. That will help the game feel like it’s building to a climax instead of remaining flat.

Weapon degradation

We’re kidding, obviously.

After encountering numerous delays and seeing a change of developers mid-development, Digimon Survive is finally coming out this year. The upcoming role-playing game tells its story in visual novel-like chapters, while combat plays out in turn-based strategy battles.

As we approach Summer Game Fest and all the Not-E3 summer events, there’s a chance we learn even more about developer Hyde and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment’s new game. But, for now, this is everything we know about Digimon Survive.

Release date

Digimon Survive has two release dates. The game will initially launch in Japan on July 28. It will then release to the rest of the world on July 29.

What we know

Digimon Survive begins with a group of students on spring break visiting a temple in order to learn more about the legends surrounding the local mysterious beast gods. The group is suddenly transported to another world where they run into a Koromon, who aids the lost humans by digivolving into Agumon when they’re attacked by other Digimon. Each of the students decides to work together in order to find their way home.

In Digimon Survive, you can team up with and train 113 different Digimon. Though you can outright fight anything you go up against, Digimon Survive allows you the option to talk with your foes, as well–listening to your opponents and answering their questions in a way they find satisfying can also lead to victory, and occasionally result in a would-be foe becoming another ally.

In between combat, the game plays out similarly to a visual novel, providing the characters with time to talk to one another and make decisions on what to do next. Digimon Survive will feature 12 chapters, with the story branching into three possible directions depending on whether you choose a path of Morality, Harmony, or Rage. Reaching the conclusion to any of these three routes reveals a possible secret fourth route you can attempt on a later playthrough. According to producer Kazumasa Habu, each route will take around 40 hours to complete.

Platforms

Digimon Survive launches for Switch and PS4 in Japan on July 28. The game will then release for Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC worldwide on July 29.

PC system specs

The official PC system specs for Digimon Survive have not yet been released.

Multiplayer details

Digimon Survive is a single-player game and won’t feature any online or offline multiplayer components.

DLC/Microtransactions details

No DLC or microtransactions have been confirmed for Digimon Survive. It seems unlikely we’ll get the former–Digimon games rarely get post-launch expansions or DLC–but cosmetic-centric microtransactions seem plausible.

Preorder details

Digimon Survive is available for preorder from A , Best Buy, and GameStop.

Respawn has officially revealed the long-rumored Star Wars Jedi: Fall Order sequel. Called Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the new game is scheduled for a 2023 release.

Sadly, it seems like Respawn didn’t like my suggestion that Merrin should be the protagonist for Fallen Order’s sequel, as Survivor will once again star Cal Kestis. As seen in the trailer, most of Cal’s allies are notably absent (save for BD-1), including Merrin.

In the trailer, we see Cal meet with a Pau’an (the long-limbed humanoids that Obi-Wan meets on Utapau), which is notably the same species as the Grand Inquisitor–the leader of the Jedi hunters that served under Darth Vader. So this could be the Grand Inquisitor, but that seems unlikely given his role in other Star Wars stories, like Star Wars Rebels.

Cal also faces off against a one-armed cloaked figure wielding a red lightsaber, and encounters an exceptionally pale figure in a bacta tank.

We also get a look at Cal’s new lightsaber, which is not the same one he uses at the end of Fallen Order. This new saber only has one blade and lacks the option of being separated into two lightsabers, implying that Cal may lose his original saber at the beginning of Survivor and have to build a new one.

Three years in, Raid: Shadow Legends remains the premiere turn-based RPG on PC or mobile, and the developers at Plarium are full speed ahead on new content for the game’s massive player base of more than a million daily players.

For those unaware, Raid: Shadow Legends is a collection RPG with over 500 highly animated and realistic characters, which combined with their unique artifacts means players can make over one million different builds. Players will make their heroes, build teams, and then engage in epic CVC and PVP battles in order to take control of the world of Teleria.

As Raid’s developers understand that the start is always the hardest part, right now the game is offering a ton of free stuff to get new players going. Current free items include a legendary hero in Deliana, a free promo code with benefits exclusive to GameSpot users, and a chance to win an $80 gift card through opening two sacred shards in 30 days.

These free items are just a few of the many reasons why you should check out RAID: Shadow Legends, and while we certainly don’t have time to get into all of them today, here’s some more information on what makes those freebies great.

A Free Legendary you’d hate to miss

Deliana is a top-notch legendary champion from the high elves faction with a specialty in HP. Her kit includes multiple debuffs crucial to breaking through enemy defenses, and a block buff that resists all enemy attacks for two straight turns. She can also heal enemies relative to her max HP level, as well as strengthen them through support spells. There’s a lot to like about this particular champion, and you can add her to your roster for the affordable price of “free.”

To add Deliana to your party, download Raid: Shadow Legends and log in for seven days. This doesn’t have to be seven days in a row, so if your mobile device gets broken or you’re too busy to play for a day, the bonus is not going away. This is a limited time offer however, so if you want to start with a legendary champion on your side, download Raid and get her while she’s still up for grabs.

Use Promocode RaidGameSpot2022 to get exclusive gifts

Another way to get a head start is by using the promo code “RaidGameSpot2022” in-game. This will add a few beginner’s bumps to your account, including double XP and three free energy refills.

To earn these rewards, simply download the game and type the promo code into the dropdown bar on the left of the home screen–also known as “the bastion.”

The list of everything you will gain from the promo code is below:

XP Brew Magic X5Energy Refill X31,000,000 SilverSkill Tome Rare X1XP +100% X1

That extremely fluid and thoughtful turn-based combat

Finally, while most RPGs focus on action-heavy combat, Raid: Shadow Legends sticks with the tried-and-true turn-based combat from classic RPGs of old. Not only does it still work, but Raid’s version is so deep and captivating that it feels so much more satisfying than any action RPG could be.

The combat system is built around the champions, which you will unlock over time through playing the game. These champions make up your party, a party made up entirely by you, and as mentioned previously there are over a million different team combinations to be made while playing the game. No two player experiences will ever be the same.

Whether you’re facing off against the game’s toughest bosses or challenging your friends in the game’s robust PvP offerings, Raid: Shadow Legends’ turn-based combat system will test your mind and reflexes in each battle. Victory will not be achieved easily, but getting there will be incredibly satisfying. You don’t want to miss it–download Raid: Shadow Legends today.

Apex Legends Mobile‘s debut season is in full swing, and its very first limited-time mode, Quick Battle, has finally arrived. The new mode is already being lauded as a great option for players who don’t have much time to spare (or those who just want a good warm-up).

Quick Battle is similar to Apex Legends Mobile’s standard battle royale, but it has a few twists. Like Apex Mobile’s default battle royale mode, Quick Battle takes place on the World’s Edge map. But unlike battle royale, Quick Battle matches begin with a much smaller starting ring, and a smaller number of players. Only 10 squads can load into the new LTM at once, for a total of 30 players in each Quick Battle match.

The Quick Battle LTM begins with fewer squads and a smaller starting ring.

Players who wish to try out the new Quick Battle mode must first reach level 5, which is accomplished by playing a few rounds of battle royale. Once players ascend to level 5, they can access both Team Deathmatch and Quick Battle modes. While the number of participants in each Quick Battle match is lower than the number of players in battle royale, the smaller starting ring means that players will encounter each other much more frequently, and can jump into the action far more quickly than they can in the standard battle royale. Given the fact that your average Apex Mobile battle royale match can take upwards of 15 minutes to come to an end, Quick Battle is perfect for killing time when you haven’t got much of it.

But players must hurry if they want a chance to play the mobile game’s speedy new mode, as Quick Battle mode is only available for a short time, from May 26 to May 29–so players who want to give it a try should take a page out of Octane’s book and “Run fast. Hit fast. Win fast.”

Apex Legends Mobile is available for download on iOS and Android.

Four months later, the network servers for the Dark Souls games on PC remain offline, but developer From Software has reassured fans that work is ongoing to bring them back online.

In a statement to PC Gamer, a spokesperson for the studio said, “We are currently in the process of restoring the online servers for the Dark Souls series on PC.”

Online service will be restored “progressively” for each game, though it’s unclear in which order this will happen. From Software’s statement said, “We plan to restore online service for each game progressively, bringing back servers for Dark Souls 3 once we complete the necessary work to correct the problem.”

The studio added: “We will provide additional updates as soon as the restoration schedule is finalized. We want to thank all our players for your patience and understanding as we work to fix this issue.”

At the start of 2022, From Software acknowledged a significant security issue with Dark Souls 3, and in the wake of this, the company brought down the PvP servers for all Dark Souls games on PC. In February, it was reported that the servers would stay offline until Elden Ring launched, but that came and went, and the servers are still dark.

As for Elden Ring, the game is soaring right now with more than 13 million units shipped. It is the No. 1 best-selling game of 2022 so far and has surpassed Call of Duty: Vanguard to become the highest-selling game of the past 12 months. However, the game wasn’t near the top of the most-played games so far in 2022.

Short on Legendary Shards in Destiny 2? A new exploit in the game can help you farm a near-limitless supply of the in-game currency, but it does carry the risk of a potential ban on your account if Bungie decides to act. If you like flirting with danger and banhammers, the process for acquiring a pile of Legendary Shards is relatively simple.

As spotted by Fanbyte and YouTube user David, these are the steps you’ll need to follow:

Make certain that you have enough Glimmer, which can be purchased from Master Rahool in the Tower in case you’re running short of the currency.Open your Collections tab and go to the Armor section.Depending on your class, you’ll want to buy gear from one of three Armor sets, using your Glimmer.Titans: Midnight OilHunters: Gumshoe GumptionWarlocks: The InspectorDismantle that gear, and you’ll be refunded some Legendary Shards and a small amount of Glimmer.Repeat the process as much, and as an added bonus, you’ll also earn Gunsmith reputation.

Legendary Shards are used for a number of purchases in Destiny 2, as you can acquire rare materials from Master Rahool, Upgrade Modules to increase the power of your arsenal, and as cash for Xur’s inventory when he arrives on Friday.
