Turns out the last Baldur’s Gate 3 hotfix didn’t completely fix the zombie problem. But that issue should now be fully stomped out with Hotfix 26, which is now live. Hotfix 26 also takes care of multiple crashes and bugs–including a fix for the incredibly annoying issue that was preventing party members from correctly appearing at camp, stalling their questlines.

But the fix for corpses coming back to life is the big takeaway for Hotfix 26. Prior to the hotfix going live, corpses of NPCs would oftentimes stand back up and continue about their business after you returned to camp or the game autosaved. That should no longer be the case, meaning an area should now remain devoid of life after you murder everyone.

The full list of fixes is detailed in the full patch notes for Hotfix 26, which are written out below. Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for PC and Stadia.

A recent class-action lawsuit against Sony alleging the company took part in anticompetitive acts through its control of the PlayStation store has been thrown out.

As reported by Bloomberg Law, Judge Richard Seeborg of the US District Court for the Northern District of California granted Sony’s motion to dismiss on July 15. His reasoning was that he found the evidence presented by the plaintiffs didn’t adequately allege violations under the Sherman Act, though the plaintiffs are able to file an amended complaint, should they choose to do so.

The plaintiffs consist of a group of video game players that have previously purchased digital copies of games from the PlayStation store. The group alleges that because Sony only allows digital games to be sold on its own storefront, where it can supposedly control prices, it has unlawfully monopolized the market, resulting in increased costs for consumers.

Prior to 2019 when Sony changed its policy, other retailers were able to sell its digital games. Now though, the Sony-run PlayStation Store is the only available marketplace, which the plaintiffs allege that the company can set prices for every game.

The plaintiff’s lawsuit relied on the belief that Sony’s decision to only sell its digital games on the PlayStation store was intended to cut off competition. But the group was unable to provide enough evidence that Sony actually did end a profitable business practice to take control of the market.

“For all the foregoing reasons, the motion to dismiss is granted because Plaintiffs have failed to allege adequately anticompetitive conduct under the Sherman Act, and the other claims are derivative of the Sherman Act claims,” wrote Seeborg. “Although it is unclear at this time if the deficiencies may be cured, Plaintiff is granted leave to amend.”

Valve faces a similar lawsuit over Steam’s alleged monopoly over PC gaming storefronts.

Newegg has launched an e-commerce and research website dedicated to GPUs called, rather straightforwardly, JustGPU .

It’s supposed to help customers who are only looking for a GPU select the right one. There are new comparison tools, like how max GPU lengths, CUDA cores, memory size, as well as FPS comparisons for specific games stack up between different graphic cards.

JustGPU differs from Newegg’s main site in that it offers more tools and information for selecting products. It’s meant to be a complement to Newegg, as consumers will still be able to see and buy GPUs from Newegg’s main site. Checkout will still take place on Newegg, so there’s no need to create a new user account for JustGPU.

“Customers are spending a lot of time researching throughout the Internet for GPUs, including performance details and pricing,” said Newegg’s director of product management Jim Tseng in a press release. “We’re reducing the hassle and frustration for customers by providing a streamlined resource with this new personalized shopping site.”

Graphic cards are still in hot demand, as supply shortages caused by pandemic-related reasons are still ongoing. In related GPU news, Nvidia likely delayed its unannounced RTX 4000 line. It was originally scheduled to launch in May, but new reports suggest RTX 4000 will instead get a staggered release in the fall.

There’s no shortage of quality weapons to grind for in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, but there are astronomical odds in play when it comes to finding some of the best gear in the Borderlands spin-off. One player has managed to overcome those daunting numbers, and now owns an extremely rare item that has a 1-in-85 billion chance of dropping in the game.

Borderlands streamer Moxsy got his hands on the Ascended Warlock’s Amalgam of Glorious Purpose mod, a particularly sought-after piece of equipment that comes with five randomized bonus stats, is an Ascended-tier item–the best tier in the game–and has perfect stats for each slot.

Those stats include a powerful 29.7% bonus to all damage, a 49.% bonus to spell damage, a 27.7% increase to area-of-effect damage, a 59.3% chance of landing a critical hit with spells or abilities, and a 52.6% boost for Moxsy’s primary character class, the Spellshot. For his secondary class, the Graveborn, he scored a 26% bonus boost as well.

As spotted by Kotaku and YouTuber ConstantCanadian, Moxsy’s loot drop was thanks to the mathematical stars aligning on a number of factors. “There are 85 billion different possible variations of Amalgams, and Moxsy just so happened to get this one,” ConstantCanadian explained to Kotaku.

You can see the full breakdown on the numbers in the video below:

In other Wonderlands news, the game has steadily added more DLC since it launched in March, such as the Glutton’s Gambit and Coiled Captors. If you’re still playing regularly, you can check out our updated feature on Shift codes that can be used to earn some top-tier gear in Brighthoof.

Samsung’s lineup of portable SSDs has enjoyed tremendous success, starting with the T1 back in 2015. The company has been regularly updating their PSSD lineup with the evolution of different high-speed interfaces as well as NAND flash technology. Earlier this year, Samsung launched the Portable SSD T7 Shield, a follow-up to the Portable SSD T7 (Touch) introduced in early 2020. Samsung is mainly advertising the ruggedness / IP65 rating of the T7 Shield as a selling point over the regular Portable SSD T7 and T7 Touch. Today’s review takes a look at the performance and value proposition of the Portable SSD T7 Shield. Our detailed analysis reveals another trick that Samsung has up their sleeve, which makes the T7 Shield a worthy successor to the Portable SSD T7 family.

This Legend of Zelda-themed gaming PC, created by builder OdderTech, rejects the trend of carefully minimalist PC builds, instead choosing to include as many of the series’ iconic items as possible. With the outside of the case resembling Ocarina of Time’s Deku Tree, the inside of the build also boasts thematic water cooling, and no less than four different Master Swords.

The PC build was posted to Reddit by OdderTech, who was commissioned by a Zelda fan to build the PC and “fill it to the brim with art and references“. While the build seems to take the most inspiration from Ocarina of Time–including the Deku Tree exterior, the titular ocarina, a figure of Navi, and a miniature hookshot–the case also references classic 2D Zelda, as well as different games’ versions of the Master Sword.

The whole build is tied together through a green color scheme, running through the water cooling, the interior cables, and the leaves of the Deku Tree.

OdderTech shared more details on the build in the comments, mentioning that the maximalist build makes use of water cooling to disperse heat, while still moving more air through the case than you would think.

The Zelda theme is an interesting choice for a PC gamer, with none of the iconic Nintendo games officially playable on PC. There are of course unofficial ways to play Zelda games on a computer, such as a fan-released port for Ocarina of Time that launched earlier this year, but Nintendo is notoriously lawsuit-happy when it comes to PC ports and emulators.

Notebooks are scattered around Stray in The Slums area, and you’ll know one is close by when you see the sign of The Outsiders. The symbol is two dots above a small, incomplete circle with a gap at the bottom.

Whenever you see that symbol, look around and you’ll find a notebook.

Where To Find Momo’s Notebook (1/4)

You’ll obtain Momo’s Notebook as part of the story. Once you meet Momo, show them the first Memory, which is a picture of the beach, and they give it to you after your conversation.

Where To Find Zbaltazar’s Notebook (2/4)

Zbaltazar’s Notebook can be found in a flat that is reached by climbing the highrise next to Guardian.

Climb past the robots that are throwing cans of paint, and continue to climb until you reach the large, neon Outsider sign. Pull the power supply off the ventilation system to the left of the sign, then climb up on the vent next to the sign and drop through the fan.

Once you are in the apartment, climb on top of the tall pile of boxes near the robot portraits on the wall, then jump off, knocking the boxes over. Nudge the boxes to knock them open and discover Zbaltazar’s Notebook.

Where To Find Doc’s Notebook (3/4)

To find Doc’s Notebook, you’ll need to head to the library above The Slums. Climb up above the alley where robots are throwing paint cans, then continue towards the back, beyond the couch with the TV.

From there, jump across the gap to reach a small balcony with a blue, glowing Outsider sign, then squeeze through the boarded-up doorway.

Inside, you’ll find tons of books. Head to the back of the room and turn right. Hop over the giant piles of books to find a side room, then turn right to find a note you can translate. Do so and you’ll obtain the Keys.

Head back towards the middle of the library to find an aisle with several more tall piles of books. Hop on top, then hop off to cause them to fall over, revealing a safe. Inspect the safe and use the Keys to open it, revealing Doc’s Notebook.

Where To Find Clementine’s Notebook (4/4)

Clementine’s Notebook can be found in the flat above the vending machine in The Slums where Teddy hangs out. Climb up to the roof and jump through the window with the glowing orange lantern and the circle symbol.

Duck through the wooden doors in the back with the broken glass, then turn left and go into the next room. Hop up on the desk to find Clementine’s Notebook sitting on the left.

You’ll also obtain the correction for the Transceiver formula, which you need to proceed to Chapter 5. Proceeding to the top of the tower with the orange sign will lead you to Momo, where you can turn these in to obtain the Transceiver.

The Solstice event is here in Destiny 2, bringing a summertime celebration to the game that has unique rewards for players to earn and a new “event card” system to dish out rewards. Solstice also comes with a new gun for players to earn called Something New, which features a trait you can’t get on any other weapon. As with many new things to pop into Bungie’s expansive MMO, however, Something New is not behaving exactly as it seems to have been intended, with a bug working in players’ favor.

Something New is a hand cannon–in Destiny parlance, a big revolver–that features a specific new trait called “Dreamwork.” The new trait encourages you to work together with your teammate by giving you a reward for “assists,” or enemies killed by your teammates that you also shot. When a teammate kills an enemy you shot with Something New, Dreamwork is supposed to add ammunition to the gun’s magazine from your ammo reserves automatically, allowing you to keep shooting without stopping to reload. The interesting thing is that the Dreamwork trait can put more bullets into your gun than the magazine would normally hold, potentially giving you an overloaded weapon. If the magazine holds seven rounds when you reload it normally, for instance, successfully using Dreamwork might load 11 rounds into the magazine.

The Dreamwork trait is supposed to overload your hand cannon when you get assists, but it can overload your other guns too.

The thing is, the Dreamwork trait is working with other guns, not just Something New. As the Twitter account Destiny Bulletin pointed out, if you shoot an enemy with Something New, then quickly switch to another gun before your teammate kills that enemy, the other gun will get the overload bonus from the trait. That means you can overload weapons that are absolutely supposed to have their magazines capped at a certain number–for instance, rocket launchers, which are mostly supposed to fire only one shell at a time before being reloaded.

I tested the Dreamwork trait in-game, and sure enough, it allows you to overload weapons to fairly ridiculous levels. For instance, the Gjallarhorn rocket launcher, can normally hold two rockets in its magazine once you’ve upgraded it with its special Exotic catalyst. Using Dreamwork, I popped that number up to four rockets in the magazine, which is a ludicrous amount of power to have in your hands without having to stop and slowly reload the launcher. The same was true of the Calus Mini-Tool submachine gun, which normally tops out at 38 rounds in a magazine. With Dreamwork, my Mini-Tool packed some 61 rounds into the mag, which is about 61% more ammunition than normal.

More bullets in my submachine gun and more rockets in my rocket launcher, thanks to Something New.

It’s possible you can increase your overloads even more; my testing was limited by the ammo I was able to find during PvE events such as strikes, which I was running with matchmade teammates. Dreamwork operates once per reload of Something New, so you have to use at least some of the bullets in the gun and manually reload it before you can trigger the origin trait again. You can definitely trigger the trait more than once and overload multiple guns–I was able to get four rockets into Gjally and 61 rounds in Calus Mini-Tool at the same time. That seemed to be the maximum magazine for the Mini-Tool, but the top end might be different for different guns.

All that said, this definitely doesn’t seem like Something New’s origin trait operating as expected, and that is likely to mean that Bungie will work to correct the mistake before long. One can imagine scenarios where Something New could greatly shake up top-tier PvE events or competitive activities against other players in the Crucible. Enjoy this weird, broken new gun while you can, just in case Bungie decides to roll out a fix.

Destiny 2‘s revamped summer Solstice event introduces a bunch of changes to how developer Bungie handles these yearly celebrations. Along with new seals to earn and revamped activities, Solstice comes with an “event card” system that tracks challenges you can complete in the game to earn rewards. The event card comes in two versions: a free edition and a premium, “upgraded” one. But is the free event card worth your hard-earned Silver?

To make a clear decision about whether you should upgrade your event card, it’s important to know what you’re getting. Both versions of the event card track 24 “event challenges” that you can complete over the next 20 days during the Solstice event. Mostly, those challenges reward you with new in-game items to upgrade your Solstice armor, a special set of gear that can be upgraded with stat bonuses. You can also equip your Solstice armor with special “glows” that give them colorful neon accouterments, provided you’re willing to pay for them with Silver, Destiny 2’s premium currency that’s purchased with real money. You need to fully upgrade your Solstice armor in order to equip the glows, but even if you don’t purchase them, the armor can be powered up significantly if you put in the time to complete challenges.

You get the same gameplay benefits whether you use the free or upgraded Solstice event card. If you buy the upgrade, you’re paying for the cosmetics.

If your only desire is to beef up your Solstice armor, the free version of the event card has you covered. Both versions include the same set of challenges to complete and dole out the same amount of special Solstice currencies you need to upgrade your armor. The upgraded version of the card doesn’t affect any gameplay elements–so no faster means of upgrading your Solstice armor and no additional weapon rewards. Instead, it offers you the opportunity for more cosmetic items.

With each completed event challenge on your event card, you earn a currency called “event tickets.” If you stick with the free version of the card, you can’t do anything with these tickets, but if you purchase the upgraded card, event tickets can be traded for several additional awards. These include a skateboarding emote and a ship that looks like a speedboat.

The upgraded event card also gives you several cosmetic items for your initial purchase: a new shader called Iris Gossamer, an emote that makes you the champion of a hot dog-eating contest, and a Ghost shell that puts a nice hat on your robot buddy.

The Sunny Vacation Ghost shell is among the cosmetic items you can earn from the Solstice event if you’re willing to pay in.

It’ll cost you 1,000 Silver to purchase the upgraded event card, which is the equivalent of about $10. Presuming you complete enough challenges to unlock all the event card’s rewards, that 1,000 Silver buys you two emotes, a ship, a ghost shell, and a shader, as well as a transmat effect and a Ghost projection. All of these are unique to the Solstice event, so don’t expect to buy them piecemeal elsewhere–at least, not until next year.

So the question of whether the upgraded event card is worth your money comes down to whether you want the cosmetic items offered on the upgraded event card track. The premium card won’t give you a fast track on Solstice, so it comes down to a decision about whether you want to sport new summer-themed cosmetic gear, or if you’re okay skipping it.
