Nintendo Switch consoles don’t often get worthwhile price cuts–but that’s not the case today. Antonline is currently offering a nearly $100 discount on this Switch OLED + Pokemon Legends: Arceus bundle, which is listed for just $350. The Switch OLED normally goers for $350 by itself, so you’re getting an awesome game and a headset for free pretty much. We’re not sure how long it’ll stick around, so be sure to check it out while you can.

The bundle from Antonline includes a Switch OLED model (Red/Blue), Pokemon Legends: Arceus, and a Nyko NS-4500 Wired Headset. All three products would typically retail for $445, making this a remarkably good deal if you’re interested in picking up the premium handheld. The Nyko headset isn’t going to blow you away, but it’s a great starter as you search for something more powerful.

This is one of the best deals we’ve ever seen for the Switch OLED, and it certainly could sell out quickly. So if the low price catches your eye, be sure to move fast. You might also want to pick up a microSD card (the Switch OLED only comes with 64GB), but thankfully you’ll find a 128GB card on sale for just $20 over on Amazon. Combined with the above bundle, you’ve got everything you need to start gaming on Switch.

Konami has announced that Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel, the free-to-play four-player mobile version of the classic card game, will be released on September 6. Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel, which is being released on Apple App Store and Google Play Store, introduces a brand-new way to play Yu-Gi-Oh!.

This new four-person version of Yu-Gi-Oh! does not play the same way as the typical one-on-one mode, instead changing into a fast-paced real-time game. Each player has three monster and spell/trap field zones. Each monster zone is linked to an opponent’s monster zone via a line. When a player places a monster in their zone, it begins moving down the line, towards their opponent. If it hits an opponent’s monster, the monster with the higher ATK wins, although unlike the original game, the winning monster loses a chunk of its ATK based on the monster it defeated.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel features a four-player versus mode, four-player co-op, and a one-on-one mode as well. The game also features monster customization options as well as 3D summoning animations for some cards during matches. Konami is offering rewards to people who pre-register for Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel, which you can do on the game’s official website.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel launches for free on September 6 for iOS and Android.

Following a leak, PlayStation has confirmed the next batch of PlayStation Plus freebies. September 2022’s PS Plus Essential lineup will include Need for Speed Heat, Toem, and Granblue Fantasy: Versus. All three of those games are worth playing, so it’ll be a pretty good month overall for freebies on PlayStation. The new batch of games will be available to claim starting September 6. As a reminder, all PS Plus subscribers, regardless of tier, can claim the PlayStation Plus Essential lineup each month.

Need for Speed Heat is the best-known game of the bunch. It’s the latest entry (not including remasters) in the long-running EA racing franchise and a turn in the right direction. The franchise went down a bumpy road throughout the 2010s, but Need for Speed Heat recaptured the pure arcade racing fun that the series was known for in its early days. Featuring a cool night-and-day system in which you compete in sanctioned events by day and illegal street races after dark, Need for Speed Heat offers a decent amount of variety that keeps the arcade racing fresh throughout its roughly 10-hour runtime. It earned a 7/10 in our Need for Speed Heat review. Need for Speed Heat doesn’t have a PS5 upgrade, but you can play it on the latest PlayStation console via backwards compatibility.

Toem is a charming indie that released just last year. You play as a young photographer in search of a snapshot of the eponymous Toem phenomenon. If you’re looking for a relaxing game that won’t take up too much time, Toem is a good choice. The gameplay revolves around solving puzzles by taking photographs of the world around you. The black-and-white visuals are lovely, and the gameplay is complemented by a beautiful soundtrack. Only the PS5 version of Toem will be available to claim in September.

Fighting game fans can check out Granblue Fantasy: Versus, a 2.5D fighting game developed by Arc System Works. Featuring the characters that first appeared in the Granblue Fantasy mobile game in 2014, Versus is a stylish fighter with great mechanics. It also implements RPG systems, which is fitting considering the first Granblue Fantasy game was an RPG. The single-player campaign isn’t very exciting, but the core fighting mechanics are great. It earned a 7/10 in our Granblue Fantasy: Versus review.

If you haven’t already, make sure to claim August’s freebies before they leave PlayStation Plus on September 6. August’s lineup includes Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, and Little Nightmares.

PlayStation is also adding new games to the PS Plus Extra/Premium library next month, including Deathloop, Chicory: A Colorful Tale, and Assassin’s Creed Origins.

Konami has announced that it will reveal a new game related to one of its classic franchises next month at the Tokyo Game Show. Voice actor Yuki Kaji will be on stage to “represent the fans” of the game, which Konami describes as being linked to a “world-famous” series.

According to VGC‘s sources, Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid, and Castlevania fans shouldn’t get too excited about the reveal as the new game is reportedly related to a smaller project that the company has lined up.

It’s rumored that Konami does have revivals planned for some of its biggest IPs, including a Silent Hill 2 remake being helmed by Bloober Team and remasters of classic Metal Gear Solid games. Bloober confirmed in October 2021 that it was working on two “AAA” projects that have yet to be officially revealed, and the company has signed a deal with Konami for a new project.

Other rumors have pointed to multiple Silent Hill games being in development, including a project under Annapurna Interactive that takes an episodic approach to the series.

The rest of Konami’s schedule for TGS has been published, and the company will be using its 45-minute presentation to show off Yu-Gi-Oh! Cross Duel, Super Bomberman R2, and eFootball 2023.

What looks to be new gameplay footage from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II has leaked online ahead of a bigger reveal set for September during the Call of Duty Next event.

Footage posted on Twitter shows a gameplay sequence where the player hijacks a truck, vaults into the driver’s seat, and then proceeds to race down the road and fire at enemies driving by. The video is not good quality and doesn’t provide any context on what’s being shown. In fact, it’s not even confirmed that this is Modern Warfare II, though it is believed to be.

During this event, the company will show off Modern Warfare II’s multiplayer, discuss the new mobile game, Project Aurora, and share more details on Warzone 2.0.

The Modern Warfare II multiplayer is just a few weeks away, set to begin September 16 on PlayStation before coming to other platforms later on. Fans who pre-order get in first.

Modern Warfare 2’s campaign will be playable a week early

Modern Warfare II launches on October 28, but those who pre-order can start playing the campaign a full week early.

During AMD’s ‘together we advance_PCs event, the company unveiled its latest Zen 4-based Ryzen 7000 processors to the world, as well as its AM5 platforms, including X670E, X670, B650E, and B650. AMD also announced what it calls AMD EXPO, a new technology for overclocking DDR5 memory. In conjunction with this announcement, AMD has partnered with memory manufacturers including ADATA, Corsair, G.Skill, GeIL, and Kingston Technology to bring AMD Ryzen 7000 optimized kits of DDR5 memory to the market, with 15 (or more) of these set to be available on launch day on September 27th.

AMD EXPO stands for EXtended Profiles for Overclocking and is designed to provide users with high-end memory overclocking when used in conjunction with AMD’s Ryzen 7000 series processors. Similar to Intel’s preexisting X.M.P (Extreme Memory Profile) technology found on most consumer-level memory kits designed for desktop Intel platforms, AMD’s EXPO technology aims to do the same, but as an open standard with an emphasis on providing the best settings for AMD platforms.

AMD EXPO Technology: Like X.M.P, but Optimized for Ryzen 7000

The premise of AMD EXPO is that it will be a one-click DDR5 overclocking function for AM5 motherboards, and AMD claims that EXPO overclocked memory kits will offer up to 11% higher gaming performance at 1080p, although it hasn’t quantified how it came to this figure. AMD did, however, state that it is expecting (at least) 15 kits of DDR5 memory with AMD EXPO at launch on September 27th, with rates of up to DDR5-6400.

AMD EXPO, on the surface, is essentially an X.M.P profile specifically designed for AMD’s Ryzen 7000 (Zen 4) processors. Although AMD hasn’t gone into finer details on how it differs from X.M.P, beyond the fact that it will be royalty and licensing fee free.

G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo DDR5 memory with AMD EXPO certification

It is worth noting that DDR5 memory with X.M.P profiles will be supported on Ryzen 7000 platforms. Still, AMD EXPO adds an additional layer of ‘compatibility’ with AMD systems, as EXPO DIMMs will be optimized for use on AMD platforms (as opposed to X.M.P. kits chiefly being optimized for Intel platforms).

AMD EXPO does have one caveat associated with it; AMD EXPO is classed as overclocking in AMD’s own eyes, and according to its footnotes, it does void the warranty.

The footnote on the AMD EXPO landing page states as follows:

Overclocking and/or undervolting AMD processors and memory, including without limitation, altering clock frequencies / multipliers or memory timing / voltage, to operate outside of AMD’s published specifications will void any applicable AMD product warranty, even when enabled via AMD hardware and/or software. This may also void warranties offered by the system manufacturer or retailer. Users assume all risks and liabilities that may arise out of overclocking and/or undervolting AMD processors, including, without limitation, failure of or damage to hardware, reduced system performance and/or data loss, corruption or vulnerability. GD-106

Similar to how Intel operates with X.M.P profiles being applied, using AMD EXPO will technically void the warranty, which seems odd given this is AMD’s technology designed to offer adopters of Ryzen 7000 and AM5 an additional boost to performance through certification. When overclocking, doing so is always at the user’s risk. Still, with a certification such as AMD EXPO offers, it seems a little odd that AMD is recommending optimized memory for its platform but also voids the processor’s warranty.

AMD EXPO: 15 Different DDR5 Kits Available At Launch

As we previously mentioned, AMD says that there should be 15 kits of DDR5 with support for AMD EXPO ready to launch when Ryzen 7000 is released on September 27th. Some of these kits include ADATA Caster RGB and Lancer RGB models, with GeiL EVO V models and Kingston Technology Fury Beast and RGB enabled models.

G.Skill Flare X5 Memory in black with AMD EXPO certification

Corsair and G.Skill sent us information on what it is launching alongside Ryzen 7000 on September 27th. Starting with G.Skill, it announced three new kits of DDR5 for Ryzen 7000, including its Trident Z5 Neo RGB, regular Trident Z5 Neo, and the Flare X5 series. The flagship for its AMD EXPO memory is the Trident Z Neo, with four different varieties of DDR5-6000 set for launch, each with different latencies and capacities, as outlined in the table below.

G.Skill AMD EXPO DDR5 Memory (as of 08/30)

The Trident Z5 Neo and RGB Neo share the same specifications, but the RGB version includes a customizable LED lightbar. The top SKU from G.Skill with AMD EXPO at launch will be the DDR5-6000 CL30-38-38-96 kit, which is available in capacities of 2 x 16 GB (32 GB). The Flare X5 replaces the older Flare X series for DDR4 and features a lower profile heatsink at just 33 mm tall; this makes it more compatible for users with space restrictions of large tower coolers that restrict larger and more aggressive heatsink designs such as the Trident Z5 Neo.

New Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB DDR5 for AMD Ryzen 7000

Focusing on what Corsair has announced for its AMD EXPO certified memory, it has two new varieties of DDR5 memory. This includes new premium Dominator Platinum RGB DDR5, Vengeance DDR5, and non-RGB enabled Vengeance DDR5, all designed specifically for AMD and Ryzen 7000. The top SKU from Corsair is the Dominator Platinum RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) kit with speeds of DDR5-6000 and latencies of CL30-36-36-76. The Dominator Platinum RGB DDR5 memory for AMD EXPO will also be available in 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) kits, with speeds of DDR5-5600 CL36 and DDR5-5200 CL40 varieties.

The Corsair Vengeance RGB with AMD EXPO profiles will reach up to DDR5-6000 CL30 but will also be available in DDR5-5600 CL36 and DDR5-5200 CL40. At the time of writing, the non-RGB enabled Vengeance for AM5 will max out at DDR5-5600 CL36, with options also available in DDR5-5200 CL40 in both 2 x 16 GB (32 GB) and 2 x 32 GB (64 GB) kits.

The AMD EXPO DDR5 memory kits will launch at the same time as AMD’s Ryzen 7000 desktop processors and AMD X670E and X670 motherboards: September 27th. None of the memory vendors have provided us with any pricing at the time of writing.
