Evil West, the supernatural Wild West action game from Shadow Warrior 2 developer Flying Wild Hog, has been delayed by another two months. First announced at the 2020 Game Awards for a 2021 release, the game was first delayed to September 2022, and has now been pushed back again with a new release date of November 22, 2022.

The delay was announced via an image on Twitter, with the developers citing the pressures of developing across five platforms and multiple console generations as a reason for the delay. Evil West is intended for release on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

The announcement adds that Evil West has been well-received by audiences who checked out the demo earlier this year at PAX East, but that the extra few months of development time is neccessary for polish.

“We understand that game delays may be frustrating, but it’s a necessary step to deliver the best experience to everyone,” the announcement adds.

Evil West is a third-person action game set in a supernatural version of the Wild West, where players can step into the boots of vampire hunter Jesse Rentier to save the American frontier from its plague of monsters. The game can be played solo or with a friend in online co-op, with Jesse being joined by his partner Edgar Gravenor.

After years of speculation, the Fortnite-Dragon Ball collaboration is finally here. As of today, Goku, Vegeta, Bulma, and Beerus are available as skins in the massively popular battle royale. The collaboration also introduces new, limited-time challenges and additional Dragon Ball-related accessories.

Some fans shared their thoughts on the event as soon as the collaboration went live, with some less-than-enthusiastic players expressing that Goku and Vegeta appear to look odd with the shading and disproportionate. Most fans, however, seem to love the latest addition to Fortnite.

You don’t have to look very hard to find tweets about how funny it is to watch Lord Beerus slam dunk on people or witness Goku eliminate someone with the iconic Kamehameha blast and hit the griddy right afterward. Other players have taken to expressing how they love using the new in-game items to help them secure a win. There are not many games where you can have Goku, Master Chief, Kratos, and Thanos all working together to be the last team standing.

Here are some of the best takes we’ve seen so far on Twitter regarding the Dragon Ball Super x Fortnite Collab:

Release dates for Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and World of Warcraft: Dragonflight may have leaked, if an image that circulated on the WoW subreddit which reportedly showed global release times for a number of Activision Blizzard products is to be believed.

The since deleted image appeared to show internal documentation related to readiness for various upcoming Activision Blizzard launches, such as the recently announced release date of the pre-patch for WoW: Wrath of the Lich King Classic. Though random images posted to Reddit shouldn’t be accepted as fact, there is at least some evidence to back this particular one up.

The reportedly leaked image as seen on Reddit, which has since been deleted.

Take, for example, the aforementioned release date for Wrath of the Lich King Classic’s pre-patch. Though Blizzard has since announced the official date, this image was on Reddit several hours before Blizzard’s announcement. The leaked image also revealed the official launch timing for Wrath of the Lich King Classic, 3 PM PDT, which was not public knowledge until Blizzard’s announcement earlier today.

If the image is indeed legitimate, WoW players can expect to have their hands on the game’s next expansion, Dragonflight, on November 28, with the game’s pre-patch arriving roughly a month earlier, on October 25. Meanwhile, Call of Duty: Warzone 2 could be launching November 16, several weeks after the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. In addition to Warzone 2, the document lists a release of October 27 for something called “COD Cortez,” which may the heavily rumored (and seemingly confirmed) DMZ mode for the upcoming shooter. The image also shows a prepurchase date of December 8 for Diablo IV, which may be tied to some kind of announcement at The Game Awards, if the image is to be believed.

Despite the fact that the image was at least partially validated by Blizzard’s recent Wrath of the Lich King announcements, it’s still odd that so many products (most without public facing release dates) all appear on the same document. It’s best to take this leak, if that is indeed what it is, with a grain of salt.

Call of Duty fans won’t have to wait too long to find out more information about the future of the franchise. A reveal event, titled Call of Duty Next, is slated for September 15. As for WoW’s next expansion, Dragonflight is currently in alpha testing, with Blizzard having recently stated the title is still on track for a 2022 release.

Final Fantasy XIV director Naoki Yoshida wants to make one more MMORPG “from scratch” before he dies.

“I am a game designer, so I always have several ideas for games,” Yoshida said in a recent interview with Inverse. “I can’t talk about them here, but I think that goes for any game designer. I am the kind of person who’s happy as long as they can make games, so while there isn’t anything in particular, I occasionally think that I would like to make one more MMORPG title, from scratch, before I die.”

Although Yoshida, affectionately referred to as Yoshi-P by the Final Fantasy XIV community, didn’t go into specifics on what kinds of ideas he would like to see in a new MMORPG (or whether it would be a Final Fantasy-branded project or not) he did spend the interview imagining what the future of both MMOs and online games in general could look like. Quantum computing, for example, could have major effects on the genre and video games in general in the next five to 10 years, according to Yoshida.

“This would dramatically increase server performance and elements that could be simulated,” he said. “That could lead to the creation of a living world that resembles reality, or even new ideas that create an actual online world.”

Even if Yoshida does want to make a new MMORPG, his current one isn’t likely to be going anywhere soon. Final Fantasy XIV had a disastrous original launch in 2010, but thanks in part to Yoshida’s efforts, was re-tooled and re-released in 2013 as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Fast forward to now, with Final Fantasy XIV breaking concurrent player records, Yoshida said he wants to ensure Square Enix’s MMO stays in operation for “decades to come.” Given the fact that the game is the most profitable entry in the Final Fantasy series and was a major money-maker for Square Enix in 2021, another 10 years of Final Fantasy XIV could certainly be a real possibility.

In addition to serving as director on Final Fantasy XIV, Yoshida is a producer on the single-player PlayStation 5-exclusive Final Fantasy XVI, which is slated to release sometime in Summer 2023.

Rogue One, the 2016 Star Wars spinoff, is returning to theaters this month to help hype up the launch of the Rogue One TV series, Andor. The official Star Wars account confirmed that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will come back to some IMAX theaters starting August 26.

But why go to a theater to see a movie released six years ago that’s already on Disney Plus? Disney is including an “exclusive sneak peak” at Andor as part of the theatrical re-release. Beyond that, anyone who hasn’t seen it already might be interested, and repeat viewers may want a refresher on the big screen ahead of the show’s debut on September 21.

β€œEverything I did, I did for the Rebellion.”

β€” Star Wars | Andor Premieres Sept 21 on Disney+ (@starwars) August 16, 2022

There is no word on what the “sneak peek” might include, but it’s probably some kind of new footage for the Disney Plus series. Diego Luna returns to play Cassian Andor in the TV show, which is a prequel to the film.

Rogue One writer Tony Gilroy returns to write the TV show. He has explained that Andor Season 1 is all about learning more about Cassian and what drove him to become a person who would sacrifice himself for the greater good without vanity or recognition for it.

“It’s about him being really revolution-averse, and cynical, and lost, and kind of a mess,” Gilroy said.

Andor begins with Cassian’s home world being destroyed and the journey he goes on to find a new home. “His adopted home will become the base of our whole first season, and we watch that place become radicalized,” Gilroy said. “Then we see another planet that’s completely taken apart in a colonial kind of way. The Empire is expanding rapidly. They’re wiping out anybody who’s in their way.”

Andor is just the latest live-action Star Wars series for Disney+. The streaming platform’s first new Star Wars show was The Mandalorian, which proved to be a success and spawned multiple seasons. The Book of Boba Fett followed, with the Obi-Wan series premiering in May. Jon Watts is making a Star Wars TV show that is in the spirit of 1980’s coming-of-age stories.

In a brief press release sent out this morning, AMD has announced that they will be delivering their eagerly anticipated Ryzen 7000 unveiling later this month as a live stream. In an event dubbed β€œtogether we advance_PCs”, AMD will be discussing the forthcoming Ryzen 7000 series processors as well as the underlying Zen 4 architecture and associated AM5 platform – laying the groundwork ahead of AMD’s planned fall launch for the Ryzen 7000 platform. The event is set to kick off on August 29th at 7pm ET (23:00 UTC), with CEO Dr. Lisa Su and CTO Mark Papermaster slated to present.

AMD first unveiled their Ryzen 7000 platform and branding back at Computex 2022, offering quite a few high-level details on the forthcoming consumer processor platform while stating it would be launching in the fall. The new CPU family will feature up to 16 Zen 4 cores using TSMC’s optimized 5 nm manufacturing process for the Core Complex Die (CCD), and TSMC’s 6nm process for the I/O Die (IOD). AMD has not disclosed a great deal about the Zen 4 architecture itself, though their Computex presentation has indicated we should expect a several percent increase in IPC, along with a further several percent increase in peak clockspeeds, allowing for a 15%+ increase in single-threaded performance.

The Ryzen 7000 series is also notable for being the first of AMD’s chiplet-based CPUs to integrate a GPU – in this case embedding it in the IOD. The modest GPU allows for AMD’s CPUs to supply their own graphics, eliminating the need for a discrete GPU just to boot a system while, we expect, providing enough performance for basic desktop work.

The new CPU family will also come with a new socket and motherboard platform, which AMD is dubbing AM5. The first significant socket update for AMD in six years will bring with it a slew of changes and new features, including a switch to an LGA-style socket (LGA1718) and support for DDR5 memory. Providing the back-end for AM5 will be AMD’s 600 series chipsets, with AMD set to release both enthusiast and mainstream chipsets. PCIe 5.0 will also be supported by the platform, but in the interest of keeping motherboard prices in check, it is not a mandatory motherboard feature.

The remaining major disclosures that AMD hasn’t made – and which we’re expecting to see at their next event – will be around the Zen 4 architecture itself, as well as information on specific Ryzen 7000 SKUs. Pricing information is likely not in the cards (the industry has developed a strong tendency to announce prices at the last minute), but at the very least we should have an idea of how many cores to expect on the various SKUs, as well as where the official TDPs will land in this generation given AM5’s greater power limits.

Meanwhile, AMD’s press release does not mention whether the presentation will be recorded or live. Like most tech companies, AMD switched to pre-recorded presentations due to the outbreak of COVID-19, which in turn has been paying dividends in the form of breezier and more focused presentations with higher production values. While relatively insignificant in the big picture of things, it will be interesting to see whether AMD is going back to live presentations for consumer product unveils such as this.

In any case, we’ll find out more during AMD’s broadcast. The presentation is slated to air on August 29th at 7pm Eastern, on AMD’s YouTube channel. And of course, be sure to check out AnandTech for a full rundown and analysis of AMD’s announcements.

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic’s pre-patch will arrive August 30 and will allow players to create Death Knights, level up the new Inscription profession, and more.

Blizzard has outlined the pre-patch schedule in a new blog post. Come August 30, all existing Burning Crusade Classic servers will be converted into Wrath of the Lich King Classic servers. In addition to Death Knights and Inscription, the patch will also introduce the achievement system and introduce major changes to each of the game’s classes.

The journey to Northrend begins August 30.
πŸ“œ https://t.co/FT05NXZAl7 pic.twitter.com/ePkhQlxbDa

β€” World of Warcraft (@Warcraft) August 16, 2022

Alongside details about the pre-patch, Blizzard has outlined when the expansion’s first raids and arena season will begin. Arena season 5 will launch October 4, with the expansion’s opening raids of Naxxramas, the Obsidian Sanctum, and The Eye of Eternity unlocking October 6.

It seems Blizzard may have learned from the release of Burning Crusade Classic and its pre-patch, which was only two weeks long and was criticized by players for being too short. That didn’t give players much time to level their new Blood Elf or Draenei characters.

That won’t be the case this time around. The longer pre-patch length, combined with the current Joyous Journeys event which boosts XP gains by 50% and lasts until Wrath of the Lich King Classic’s launch, should make it so anyone interested in leveling a Death Knight ahead of September 26 will be able to do so.

Though the release schedule for the re-release of WoW’s most popular expansion is now set in stone, Blizzard still hasn’t issued a definitive release date for the MMORPG’s upcoming new expansion, Dragonflight, which to many players’ surprise, is still slated to arrive sometime before the end of 2022.

Pokemon Unite had its one-year anniversary a few weeks ago and featured celebratory login rewards, new commemorative skins, discounts, anniversary missions, and bonuses for players returning after a long enough hiatus. Glaceon alongside Buzzwole released, and Tyranitar is approaching soon. The game has not slowed down with new content released each month from its initial release.

Even with all of its updates, the largest, and most game-defining addition for the one-year anniversary of Pokemon Unite has been the introduction of Boost Emblems. This guide covers what Boost Emblems are, the different methods to obtain Boost Emblems, using the Boost Emblem System, and more.

What are Boost Emblems

If you are familiar with other multiplayer battle arenas (MOBAs) such as Arena of Valor or League of Legends, you may understand what Arcana or Runes are, but if not, these are used as equippable perks/buffs, a lot of the time with flat stats you can add to an empty grid to increase attack speed, increased attack damage, additional magic damage, increased defense, and more, just as a few examples.

These Emblems are able to make it so that even if the character you or your enemy team is using is the same, you may invest in different stats to increase or decrease making them unique. For example, you could choose flat increases in attack speed, while your opponent using the same character might be going for increased damage.

The largest difference in comparison to most other MOBAs, are Boost Emblems in Pokemon Unite all give negative stats and do not provide a net positive gain. This makes it a bit trickier to choose their implementation, since you may see a bunch of negative stats next to positive ones. Having quicker movement speed is great, but do you really want to sacrifice your maximum HP on Pokemon that are already squishy?

How to Obtain Boost Emblems

There are two ways to obtain Boost Emblems, and thankfully none of them cost in-game currency.

The first and main way to receive Boost Emblems is to exchange them at the Energy Rewards Gacha. One roll will cost 100 Energy, but make sure you have the Gacha set to the Boost Emblems, and not set to Fashion Items.

Energy Rewards Gacha Shop

The first Boost Emblem Gacha roll each day will be free, so don’t miss out on this!

As long as you play matches (depending on how well you do) you can build up for Energy Reward exchanges.

The second way to obtain Boost Emblems is from the Season Points. Pokemon Unite has added Season Point rewards alongside increasing the Trainer Level to 50 from the anniversary update

Current Season Points Rewards

Though this is only the first season, if you gain enough Season Points by just playing the game itself, you will receive a Gold Gengar Boost Emblem for use as this season’s reward among other Bronze and Silver Boost Emblems.

Highest Rarity Reward for Current Season: Gold Gengar Boost Emblem

How to Use Boost Emblems

Going to the main menu and selecting options will allow you to see all of the Boost Emblems you have obtained.

Selecting Options

Here, it will specifically break down Boost Emblems into Bronze, Silver, and Gold Boost Emblems.

How many of each Boost Emblem you have, their individual effects, the total amount currently in the game, and other information is available.

Different Boost Emblems, Effects, and Stats

Green arrows above a Boost Emblem will identify you as having three of the same rarity that you can choose to merge. Merging Boost Emblems requires three of the same emblem with the same rarity type. Merging will allow you to gain a Boost Emblem that is much more powerful than its previous rarity.

You can then equip your desired Boost Emblems on a rotation loadout of 10 Boost Emblems.

Full Loadout of Boost Emblems for Cooldown Combined with Increased Critical Hit Rate

Here, you can label your loadout, mix around, and see the exact effects for each Boost Emblem alongside what benefits each color provides.

The different colors are:

Green increases special attack.Yellow increases movement speed out of combat.Red increases basic attack speed.Blue increases defense.White increases max HP.Black gives move cooldown reduction.Brown increases attack.Purple increases special defense.Pink allows hindrance effects to wear off faster.

Each color has a different number requirement for its effect to activate, and how potent this color effect will actually be.

These colors correspond with different Boost Emblems. Some Emblems have two colors such as Nidoqueen being Purple and Brown, which means if you have enough of the color requirements of both of these colors equipped onto your loadout, then the loadout will give increased special defense plus increased attack.

Boost Emblems of the same Pokemon can be merged to create the next level. Bronze to Silver, then Silver to Gold. Gold Boost Emblems are what you need to aim for each Emblem, so unless it is the Gold Gengar from the Season Point reward, you will need to merge.

The Choice to Merge Three Bronze Nidoking Boost Emblems Together

For example, merging three Bronze Nidoking Boost Emblems alongside spending 100 Aeos Coins will turn your three Bronze Nidoking Boost Emblems into one Silver Nidoking Boost Emblem with a 100% guarantee. Merging your three Silver Nidoking Boost Emblems alongside spending 100 Aeos Coins will turn your three Silver Nidoking Boost Emblems into a Gold Nidoking Boost Emblem with a 40% chance.

One Silver Nidoking Boost Emblem Received from Merging

If the merge is unsuccessful, you will still have the Boost Emblems you used to merge returned to you, but the Aeos Coins will not be refunded. Gold Boost Emblems cannot be merged, but the highest rarity gives the greatest effects.

The Boost Emblem System has only been out for a few weeks, so as long as you are gradually earning Emblems alongside merging, then you can create a few loadouts with Silver, and a few Gold Emblems. Currently, there are 99 Boost Emblems, but more will be released in the future.

Either start saving your Energy Reward Gacha for the new Boost Emblems releasing in the near future, or use those Gacha rolls now while the Boost Emblem pool is at its lowest. When the Gacha pool expands, it will be more difficult to roll for specific Boost Emblems you may have been vying for.
