Fortnite‘s long-awaited Dragon Ball crossover is now underway with a massive event absolutely packed full of new POIs, skins and cosmetics to snag, and a fresh batch of utility items to check out. Those looking to find the brand new Dragon Ball-themed items to use on the battle royale island should look no further, as we’ll tell you all about where you can score Kamehameha and Nimbus Cloud below.

Where to get Kamehameha and Nimbus Cloud

There are multiple methods to obtain the new Mythic-level Dragon Ball items.

Capsules

The most consistent way to get Kamehameha and Nimbus Cloud items is to loot Capsule Corp capsules which fall from the sky throughout the match. These function similarly to supply drops, except they’re much more prevalent, and they’ll fall more and more often as the storm ring closes in.

Bulma at Kame House

Another way to get the items is to head over and see Bulma at Kame House. This POI is located on an island on the far right side of the map. Bulma will sell you Kamehameha and Nimbus Cloud for 250 gold bars each.

Kame House

Dragon Ball Vending Machines

Dragon Ball Vending Machines also sell the items for 250 gold bars. These are located in three spots: Inside of Rave Cave, west of Coney Crossroads, and just north of Rocky Reels.

Dragon Ball Vending Machine locations

The Fortnite Dragon Ball event is shaping up to be the biggest crossover the game has perhaps ever done, or ever could do, so don’t miss our complete coverage on the collaboration, which includes a full run of new in-game Dragon Ball Power Unleashed challenges with free rewards to earn.

Based on some files found within the recent PC release of Marvel’s Spider-Man, it looks like Sony might be planning a PlayStation PC launcher.

Sony looks like it’s going all in on PC, as references to a PlayStation PC launcher have been found within the files of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, as reported and verified by VGC. At this point in time, there’s no way to connect your PSN account to first-party PlayStation titles. Spider-Man’s files make references to things like “PSNAccountLinked” and “PSNLinkingEntitlements.”

What this actually means in practice isn’t particularly clear right now, but it would certainly make sense for Sony to want to push PC players to have a PSN account. All of its games have released on Steam and Epic so far, which is unlikely to change, but a dedicated launcher wouldn’t be entirely unsurprising.

Last week, prior to Spider-Man’s launch on PC August 12, PlayStation’s website added a PC games section which highlights all of the PlayStation titles currently available on PC, as well as upcoming ones like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection.

And while it hasn’t been officially announced yet, it does seem likely that Returnal will receive a PC port at some time in the future, as references to the game did appear on SteamDB earlier this year.

Though PlayStation will continue to launch its first-party titles on console only, SIE president Jim Ryan did say earlier this year that the company expects half of its annual releases to come to PC and mobile platforms by its 2025 financial year.

Last week AppLovin Corp made an offer to purchase Unity Software Inc in an all-stock deal that would have been worth $17.5 billion, with the condition that Unity drop its own bid for competitor IronSource. Today Unity has announced that it is rejecting AppLovin’s offer and continuing with its purchase of IronSource, Reuters reports.

Both IronSource and AppLovin offer services that help developers grow and monetize their apps. A market analyst quoted by Reuters noted that Unity could likely get more from a takeover offer, and that the offer by AppLovin was likely a hasty move made to prevent the IronSource sale.

Unity’s free game engine is used by game developers big and small, with some of the biggest titles developed in its engine including Call of Duty: Mobile and Pokemon Go. Tel Aviv-based IronSource isnt the only company Unity has had its eye on recently, with the company recently spending $1.625 billion aquiring VFX studio Weta Digital.

In a recent interview discussing the merger with IronSource, Unity CEO John Riccitiello received backlash for calling devs a “f***ing idiot” for not considering monetization. He’s since apologized for the comment, though Unity has had other controversies this year including a layoff of over 200 employees.

Genshin Impact’s 3.0 update is a big one. Titled The Morn a Thousand Roses Brings, patch 3.0 opens up Sumeru and introduces Genshin’s seventh and final element, Dendro. It’s not strictly new, since Dendro has been around since the beginning of Genshin (some Hilichurl mages are able to use Dendro)–but this marks the first time the Traveler (and by extension, us) will be able to use the element.

Release date

Genshin Impact 3.0 releases August 24. Pre-installation is usually available and will likely go live the day before release, August 23. With pre-installation, players can log-in as soon as the maintenance for the new patch is done.

Patch 3.0 will last five weeks, instead of the usual six weeks.

New element: Dendro

Dendro, according to a Sumeru preview teaser, has three key terms attached: catalysis, wisdom, and life. Mihoyo has so far revealed three of Dendro’s reactions with other elements: Burning, Bloom, and Catalyze.

Burning (Dendro and Pyro) is something players have already seen in-game. If you light grass on fire with Pyro, you can witness the effect. Burning is the elemental reaction between Dendro and Pyro.

Bloom (Dendro and Hydro) is inspired by the real-life phenomenon of flowers blooming and is a combination of Hydro’s healing quality and Dendro’s ability to catalyze. Bloom will spawn Dendro cores, which will eventually explode with AoE Dendro damage.
Burgeon: If the Dendro cores produced from Bloom reactions come into Pyro or Electro, the reaction Burgeon is triggered. This can increase the explosive AoE Dendro damage or trigger Hyperbloom–a reaction that turns Dendro cores into Sprawling shots that track enemies.Catalyze (Dendro and Electro) doesn’t have the same strong, real-life inspiration as Bloom does. It’s a combination of Electro’s qualities and Dendro’s key word Wisdom. Catalyze also has a strong lore background, as it is apparently integral to Sumeru’s history. Catalyze applies the Quicken effect, which increases the target’s following damage from the next Dendro or Electro damage (called Spread and Avaggrate).

As the trailer explains, there is a new system where certain overworld features and enemies will change states depending on what element you apply to it, leading to different interactions between the player and the feature in question. In combat, if you defeat an enemy in a specific state, you could even receive special rewards.

In the same teaser, players can see the Traveler hitting a mushroom with Dendro, making it bloom. The Traveler is then able to use the mushroom like a trampoline–an action showing Dendro’s potential to be an interesting tool in overworld exploration.

In line with tradition in Genshin Impact’s community, leaks from 3.0’s beta have spread online–including a complete list of rumored Dendro reactions. While most of in the info in this leak is basically confirmed in trailers and press releases, as with everything that comes from rumors, take it with a grain of salt. We’ll have to wait until 3.0 is out to confirm Dendro’s functions.

The Sumeru setting

Sumeru is the land of wisdom, scholars, and the Dendro Archon. Players probably know Sumeru as the place Lisa, a Mondsadt character we meet at the very beginning of the game, attended school.

The organization known as Akademiya controls Sumeru’s state affairs. Sumerians as a whole prize knowledge and also don’t dream, something they take pride in–since they see it as proof of their rationality.

Sumeru’s environment is split into two biomes: the desert and the rainforest. In contrast to Inazuma’s jagged cliffs and Liyue’s stone pillars, Sumeru’s mountain slopes are more gentle, like those found in the tropical and humid regions, according to the devs speaking in the second Sumeru preview teaser. The forest’s flora and fauna has a unique evolution of Shroom-kins called Funi. The strongest Fungi have animalistic characteristics, including a new chicken-slash-big-bird boss.

When players enter Sumeru, they’ll encounter a city built on a giant tree and a group of forest spirits, who of course, have things they need the Traveler to help them with–the catalyst for the Traveler to discover many different regions in the Sumeru map. There’s even a mysterious giant robot wedged in-between mountains, as well as huge trees that glow.

Travelers will meet Eremites, people descended from an ancient civilization in a desert. They’re an independent force in Sumeru and can be considered mercenaries. In this vast desert, Sumeru also contains unique upside-down tornados and secret areas–including relics and enemies from the fallen ancient civilization. There’s also another giant robot in the desert as well. How the two robots are related is to be uncovered in-game.

All of the above, though, is under threat by something that is “eroding” them.

Sumeru forest location

The Sumeru storyline

A Sumeru trailer reveals that the Dendro Archon, the Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, is directly connected to Irminsul, the great tree whose roots form leylines. She, however, disappeared in a calamity a couple hundred years ago. Sages eventually found a reborn version of the Archon–Lesser Lord Kusanali–and brought her back to Sumeru.

The 3.0 trailer also teases a festival called Sabzeruz and the reborn Archon’s birthday, where Nilou–a character who’s chosen to go down the path of art and dance in a country that values wisdom–will perform an important dance. There’s also a shadowy antagonistic force trying to bring back a god–hinted to be the past Dendro Archon–promising “retribution” for all others. The Fatui are also up to something in Sumeru as well, according to the Teyvat interlude teaser A Winter Night’s Lazzo. At the end of the teaser, a Doctor segment stands in front of a giant burning tree–likely Irminsul–and Collei, a Sumerian character, wakes up from a dream.

Another issue happening in Sumeru is something called the Withering. True to the name, Withering zones look devoid of life and the phenomenon is said to originate from the depths of the world. Rangers, as commented by the new Sumeru character Tighnari in the trailer, are likely to battle in the withering zones for quite awhile.

Another lush Sumeru setting

Playable Sumeru characters

Tighnari and Collei’s abilities have not officially been revealed. But reliable leakers, like Honey Hunter, have released what their kits are rumored to be. We won’t get into the nitty gritty, ins-and-outs of their rumored kits here, but will offer a general overview.

Tighnari and Collei are on 3.0’s first banner, in addition to a returning Zhongli banner. Dori is on 3.0’s second set of banners–Ganyu and Kokomi reruns–which will appear in the event’s second half. Collei can also be obtained for free from the Graven Innocence event.

Tighnari (Bow, Five-star, Dendro)

TighnariBio: A warm-hearted young researcher. He’s a Forest Watcher and Collei’s teacher.Skills: Dendro AoE damage dealer. Elemental burst allows Tighnari to launch six Dendro strikes that track enemies.

Collei (Bow, Four-star, Dendro)

ColleiBio: Trainee forest ranger under Tighnari.Abilities: Archer with a kit similar to Amber’s, but Dendro instead of Pyro. She has an attack like a Dendro boomerang that can affect multiple enemies. She also has Amber’s Baron Bunny-esque toy called Cuielen-Anbar, who upon exploding, deals Dendro damage.

Dori (Claymore, Four-star, Electro)

DoriBio: A traveling merchant, who seems even shorter than DionaAbilities: Her kit is geared more toward being a support. Burst will connect to a character and provide them with HP restoration, energy regeneration, and electro application.

New Events

Graven Innocence Event

Picture-taking challenge: Players can take pictures of forest animals in Sumeru and get rewards.Combat challenge: New Electro Regisvine and chicken-horse-something-hybrid Dendro Fungi boss.Time Racing Challenge: Players race through the landscape in a timed challenge to collect gold coins.Combat: Section I of this category have quests titled “The Wonderful Fungi of Teyvat” but also show players fighting Ruin Scouts (the jellyfish-esque mechanical enemies).Rewards: This event notably gives new 4-star Dendro character Collei and crowns, among the usual rewards of primogens and other character level-up resources.

Rewards include primogens and the usual resources like EXP books, gold, character talent level-up materials, and more.

Lost Riches

This event is treasure hunting, and players can uncover Chests after defeating enemies.

Fayz Trials

This one is slightly new, unlike Lost Riches which we’ve seen in past Genshin updates, in that it’s a combat challenge where players can take potions and deal a lot of damage to enemies by capturing their weaknesses.

Madden 23 is out now for EA Play subscribers, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, and anyone who pre-ordered the All-Madden Edition. If you’re among those heading to the virtual gridiron early, you ought not to miss the limited-time Madden Ultimate Team (MUT) challenges. They’ll disappear when the game officially launches on August 19, so prioritize these first. If you’re on the fence about preordering the game–or if you’re just waiting to get home and load up the EA Play trial–here’s what you need to know about the Madden 23 early access MUT challenges.

Madden 23 EA Play trial MUT challenges

The 10-hour EA Play trial is out a day earlier than advertised, meaning anyone who subscribes to EA Play or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate can play the game for up to 10 hours between now and when the game launches on August 19. Those who purchased the All-Madden Edition aren’t limited by time, but if you’re in any of the three groups, you can take on 10 exclusive challenges that no one else will have access to.

The challenges are pretty simple and serve mostly to give you a boost when starting another year of MUT play. If you’re an annual MUT player, these challenges will seem pretty familiar, but if you’re new to Madden–or just new to playing it early–here’s what to expect across 10 in-game challenges.

Each challenge has a maximum of 400 coins you can earn depending on how many stars you earn. You can choose one of two difficulties for one or two stars upon beating the challenge, and chase another pair of optional challenges to max-out your stars earned.

23 For You! – 400 coins

Gain 23 yards on the drive. Bonus objectives include doing it in no more than five plays and rushing for at least 10 yards.

Winning It All

Score a touchdown. Bonus objectives include making it a passing touchdown and getting 5+ rushing yards.

Dr. Jekyll?

Don’t allow a passing touchdown. Bonus objectives include not allowing any touchdown at all and not allowing more than 23 rushing yards.

12 And 23

Gain 23+ passing yards in six plays or fewer. Bonus objectives include gaining the required yards in four plays or fewer and completing a pass in two different plays.

Going The Distance

Score 3+ points on the drive. Bonus objectives include passing for 23+ yards and rushing for 10+ yards.

Veintitres

Get a first down and score a touchdown on the same drive. Bonus objectives include gaining 5+ yards on your first play and rushing for 5+ yards total.

23 MPH

Score a rushing touchdown. Bonus objectives include rushing for 23+ yards in six plays or fewer and getting two or more first downs.

Stop The Offense!

Don’t allow a touchdown. Bonus objectives include not allowing more than 23 yards and not allowing any passing yards on the first play.

23 Years In The Making

Score a touchdown. Bonus objectives include passing for 60+ yards total and passing for 20+ yards in three plays

The Early Bird Special

Win the game. Bonus objectives include scoring 7+ points and not allowing the opponent to score a touchdown

Once you’ve completed all of these challenges, you’ll have earned 4,000 coins–which isn’t a heck of a lot in your season-long quest to compete in MUT, but it’ll at least help you quickly replace one of the sorry receivers the game starts you with. Massive Monster’s Cult Of The Lamb is an adorably berserk addition to the roguelite genre and what it’s become. It’s inherently Devolver as it harvests the best bits of Enter The Gungeon, Stardew Valley, and The Binding Of Isaac, and to everyone’s surprise, launches them all into a cult management sim. There are cute NPC followers, farm plots, gravesites, fighting pits, brainwashing rituals, and an evil fox in a cloak, and it’s all underscored by an action-RPG combat system that’s deeper than it first appears.

Cult Of The Lamb’s weapons are offered at random and the same goes for curses (i.e. magic spells) and tarot cards (i.e. modifiers) which add variety to crusades and the quest to dethrone the four Bishops. The first two are upgraded with Faith and a separate skill tree that unlocks different types (Godly, Vampiric) and status effects (Freeze, Poison) while tarot cards can be obtained through missions, purchased from item shops, and stacked with others mid-crusade to create the best run possible. The RNG can be deafening as merchant NPCs like Clauneck would rather let fate decide, but here are our picks for the best weapons, curses, and tarot cards to wield while you’re away from your flock.

For more tips, rituals, and sermons, read our Cult Of The Lamb review.

Weapons

Cult’s Bane Gauntlets are anything but gentle.

Bane Gauntlets

Like the Bane Dagger, the Bane Gauntlets have a chance to poison enemies and deal damage over an extended period of time which is a direct buff to the weapon type and its innate ability to trigger combos that stun foes. Attacks are slow, but they can be blessed by tarot cards (i.e. Divine Strength) for additional speed or to create a useful dose of venom for areas such as Anura and Silk Cradle.

Merciless Hammer

It’s simple: small Lamb, big hammer. The Merciless Hammer primarily focuses on critical hits and while the Merciless Axe is right there, it’s a Cult weapon that prioritizes damage and knockback. It’s slower due to its targeting system but the one-shots are ideal for any strength/tank/Radahn build.

Vampiric Axe

The Vampiric Axe screams Interview With A Vampire thanks to its ornate design and appetite for any life force that moves. It has a chance to grant a Blue Heart whenever an enemy is defeated and can be further amplified by The Arachnid (for poison) or Master Of The Art (1.2x weapon damage).

Necromantic Sword

The Crusader’s Blade is a fit for most variants (Merciless, Vampiric) due to its balance of speed and damage and its flexibility with tarot cards. The Necromantic Sword finds value in becoming “death’s own blade” as slaying different mobs can summon a small ghost friend that will attack enemies.

Curses

Death’s Attendant clears rooms like the Kool-Aid Man.

Death’s Attendant

Death’s Attendant wins “Best Melee” due to two outliers: consistency and cute ghost summons. The Necromancer curse unleashes a devastating melee attack that leaves tiny ghost buds in its wake and it’s a helpful tool for creating space in overcrowded rooms and for solving Cult’s larger bosses, who have a soft spot for turning an ordinary 1v1 into a dizzying SNES-era, bullet hell nightmare.

Divine Guardian

Divine Guardian is satisfyingly OP for two reasons–it’s the only true defensive curse and it gives the Lamb invulnerability for two seconds. The burst spell still inflicts damage and knockback but unlike Divine Blizzard (frost) and Divine Blight (poison), it trades in status effects for the ability to deflect incoming projectiles, which can be used to counter Cult’s more challenging boss rooms.

Path Of The Righteous

Path Of The Righteous is essentially Ichor Thrown+, as it allows Lambs to fastball a blob of ichor at an unsuspecting enemy and leave a pool of poison behind. The puddle it produces prior to impact increases its effectiveness and while it’s an added bonus to endurance runs in Anura, it can also be indirectly upgraded through tarot cards such as Ichor Earned, Ichor Lingered, and Ambrosia.

Touch Of The Revenant

Similar to the Death’s Attendant curse, Touch Of The Revenant deals with more ghost pals who are straight up not having a good time in the underworld. The spell is cast in a straight line–creating a ground fissure that summons a series of ghosts that will attack nearby enemies. The range is limited, but it’s a unique curse that can keep larger mobs and shameless projectile abusers off your fleece.

Tarot Cards

Divine Strength is for swing-happy dagger experts.

Divine Strength

Divine Strength is everything because attack rate means everything and sometimes you would rather spend a 30-minute Darkwood run swinging at every single thing that looks at you. Higher rarities like Divine Strength++ can increase attack rates by 2x (instead of 1.25x) and that’s a big win for cult leaders who prefer daggers, swords, axes, and anything else that isn’t the Warmaker’s Hammer.

The Arachnid

The Arachnid is a default tarot card but one that doesn’t have a cure (or limits). It applies a poison status effect to enemies struck, which can give base weapons (Traitor’s Razor) an added edge or turn Zealous Axes, Vampiric Swords, and Necromantic Daggers into more dangerous configurations.

Ambrosia can be found at Forneus The Cat’s item shop.

Ambrosia

While All Seeing Sun and Weeping Moon are great card choices, the “liquor of Gods” increases curse attack damage by 1.25x and stacks as you obtain Faith and unlock Might of the Devout levels I to V. Ambrosia costs 30 gold and can be found at Forneus the Cat’s pop-up shop, which can appear as a random room during a Crusade. Tip: Look for the NPC house that’s marked by a small cat icon.

Blazing Trail

Blazing Trail is for the dodge roll romantics. The card was designed to “punish those who dare stand in your way” as it adds a bit of extra damage when rolling into enemies–a new secondary ability that really shines next to the chaotic parts of Darkwood and Anchordeep. It can be bought from the Tarot Card Merchant at Spore Grotto for 35 coins after running into Sozo’s mushroom minions in Anura.

The Hearts III

Similar to The Hearts I and II cards, The Hearts III allows Lambs to gain two extra Red Hearts which can make a difference in endurance Crusades and boss encounters that require a lvl. 3 sacrifice. The tarot card is sold by Ratoo at a Heart Room for 100 gold and while Heart Rooms appear at random, it’s hard to miss the NPC and his entourage of heartbreak. Ratoo is clearly going through it, and River Boy’s chilled-out OST theme (aptly named “Ratoo”) is worth diving into headfirst.

Disney’s D23 expo kicks off in September, and this year there’ll be a digital showcase devoted to featuring new content from upcoming Disney and Marvel games, hosted by Kinda Funny’s Blessing Adeoye Jr., and livestreamed through its social channels. According to Disney, new reveals for Disney Dreamlight Valley, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, as well as the first look at Skydance New Media’s Marvel game.

Described as a Marvel ensemble game, the game was officially confirmed in October last year and development is being led by Uncharted writer and director Amy Hennig. Skydance New Media’s game will be a “narrative-driven, blockbuster action-adventure” title featuring an original story set in the Marvel universe.

In the reveal for the project, Hennig described it as a game about “humanity, complexity, and humor” set in the Marvel universe. Beyond the Skydance project, there’s plenty of other content on the horizon that features Disney and Marvel properties. Disney Dreamlight Valley might look like it’s inspired by Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, but this slice-of-life sim makes plenty of effort to differentiate itself from those properties.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has been a big hit this year, and even though it had plenty of DLC released since it launched in April, you can probably expect an announcement on new content for the game in the near future. Marvel’s Midnight Suns has been delayed to next year and the Firaxis-developed tactical turn-based RPG will now release before the end of Take-Two’s fiscal year, which concludes on March 2023.

The D23 convention was originally scheduled for 2021, but was delayed until this year and will run from September 9-11. The event usually offers fans an opportunity to see footage from upcoming movies and TV shows, as well as get a front-row seat to announcements about upcoming films, theme park expansions, and more. While Marvel had a lot to announce at San Diego Comic-Con last month, you can probably expect more details on everything from Fantastic Four to Blade, Daredevil’s new TV show, the upcoming Thunderbolts movie, and much more.
