All aboard! Launching September 6 into Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and Cloud Gaming, @trainsimworld 3 features three routes, nine locomotives, and a brand-new dynamic weather system with volumetric clouds. https://t.co/C375NfSDF2

The follow-up to 2020’s Train Sim World 2, Train Sim World 3 promises “deeper immersion than ever before.” According to Xbox’s blog post announcing the release, the game will feature “volumetric skies that transform the atmosphere to each of the routes,” new trains, and new courses. Among these tracks are Kassel-Wurzburg (the longest route ever made for Train Sim World), Cajon Pass, Spirit of Steam, and an expanded version of Southeastern High Speed. The series is also introducing a new training center to help onboard players new to the train simulation genre.

“We feel very strong about sharing our trains passion with everyone,” Xbox wrote in the announcement. “Having this new ‘onboarding’ process will really help new players get more enjoyment out of the different styles of locos available.”

Train Sim World 3 is also placing a greater emphasis on allowing players to craft a more personal locomotive journey. Players can now design and create their personal journey with the Scenario Planner and Livery Designer. After creating your own trains, you can then test them out on any route with the game’s Off the Rails mode. Last but not least, players will also be able to share their creations via the Creators Club, which has officially left beta.

For those who played Train Sim World 2, you’re in luck–Xbox has confirmed your Train Sim World 2 collection will be transferred over to the new entry day one. In addition, all Train Sim World 2 routes can look forward to the dynamic weather system being implemented on their courses as well.

Ahead of the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man on PC this week, Nvidia’s latest GeForce Game Ready Drivers have arrived. Once installed, owners of Nvidia’s RTX series of graphics cards can expect to play Marvel’s Spider-Man at an optimum state, expanding the graphical options with NVIDIA DLSS, NVIDIA DLAA, upgraded ray-traced effects, and more supported features.

If your GPU and PC hardware is up to the task, you’ll be able to experience Marvel’s Spider-Man with features such as uncapped frame rates, increased levels of detail, higher-resolution shadow maps, high-fidelity texture filtering, and other options that you can tinker with. The driver update also adds support for 18 new G-SYNC compatible gaming displays from Acer, Asus, Corsair, LG, and Phillips.

It’s not just Marvel’s Spider-Man that’ll benefit from updated drivers, as the following 13 games will also receive optimizations:

Battle Teams 2Captain of IndustryDinkumF1 22Hell PieLineage IINightmare BreakerPost ScriptumPowerWash SimulatorStarship Troopers – Terran CommandStranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy OriginStray

To get your GPU ready, make certain that you have the GeForce Experience app installed. You can find the drivers option in the top left corner, and from there you can check to see if your software is up to date.

Released in 2018, Marvel’s Spider-Man is the latest Sony game to become available on more than just a PS5 or PS4 console. The version developed by Nixxes Software that PC players will get to experience is the complete edition that bundles the original game with the City That Never Sleeps DLC expansion, which was originally released as three interconnected episodes.

The minimum and recommended PC specs for the game are surprisingly forgiving, and with Nvidia’s DLSS and DLAA technologies, even an older PC gaming rig should be able to render the game at 1080p and 60fps. The game also features support for DualSense controllers, although you’ll need to have it plugged in to feel all the haptic feedback features.

Preorders on Steam or the Epic Games Store will unlock three Spidey suits, the Spider-Drone gadget, and five extra skill points early, and if you use the code FANATICAL15 on Fanatical, you can grab a $9 discount.

Elon Musk has no interest in making a gaming console, which makes sense–since he’s focused on making cars, going to space, and ostensibly, taking care of his eight kids. Speaking on the Full Send podcast, Musk said he is not going to make a competitor to Microsoft’s Xbox and Sony’s PlayStation.

So yeah, the Tesla console will likely never manifest. But what Musk is trying to manifest is getting Steam to work on Tesla. He posted in July on Twitter that the company is still working on Steam integration and that a demo could possibly go live in August at some point.

It’s unknown how many Steam games Musk is aiming to make compatible with Tesla. Even Valve’s flagship handheld PC can’t handle every single one of Steam’s vast library of games. But if nothing else, Musk probably wants to get Elden Ring working on Teslas, a game he infamously tweeted about.

Currently Tesla has around 20 games through the Tesla Arcade, but Musk has been attempting to bring more games to Tesla’s library over the months–though, not without scrutiny. Tesla landed in hot water for allowing games to still function even when the car was moving. Tesla said the feature was for passengers in the vehicle, but people still expressed concerns over the potential dangers this new feature could pose.

Tesla later disabled the function, making simultaneous driving and gaming impossible, but not before the US auto safety agency had a chat with the car company to express its concerns about driver distractions.

Two years after their original collaboration, Fall Guys and Sonic The Hedgehog are partnering up, adding new skins and a new limited-time game mode in celebration of Sonic’s 30th anniversary.

The event runs August 11-15 and adds five new costumes to the in-game store: the returning Sonic costume from two years ago, as well as new Tails, Knuckles, Dr. Eggman, and Super Sonic skins. A new Sonic Foot Tap emote–a reference to Sonic’s impatient pose when a player took too long to move him in the classic Genesis games–will also be available for purchase.

Dr. Eggman, Knuckles, Tails, and Super Sonic will join Sonic in Fall Guys.

Joining the new skins is a brand-new game mode, the spectacularly named Bean Hill Zone. Players must collect rings scattered across the map to collect points, and special rewards will be earned depending on how many points are scored. The list of rewards and points needed to earn each is below:

Announced during the 20th Kingdom Hearts anniversary event, Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road is getting its final chapter on August 26. It will be a free update and center around Xehanort’s journey from youth to his villainous status.

In the final chapter’s trailer, Xehanort ends up fighting Eraqus. “Kingdom Hearts is the only way,” Xehanort says to Eraqus right before they clash. “Do you stand in my way as a true keyblade master?” Eraqus replies, “No. As a true friend.” Eraqus is a keyblade master, and master of Terra and Aqua. He’s show up in a couple KH titles, including Kingdom Hearts III, and is an old friend of Xehanort, a relationship that Dark Road explores.

Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road is a mobile game that launched in 2020 and features a card-based battle system. It follows Xehanort as he attends classes in order to become a master keyblade wielder, and the next update will likely mark the end of any content updates for the mobile game.

Another Kingdom Hearts mobile game, however, looks like it will inherit Dark Roads’ place. Kingdom Hearts Missing Link is an upcoming game revealed at the 20th anniversary event, and will be available for both iOS and Android devices. Missing Link takes place in Scala ad Caelum and from the trailers, looks to be entirely 3D with some element of magic-casting in combat scenarios. What exactly Missing Link’s story will focus on, however, remains mostly a mystery.

King Hearts Missing Link goes into closed beta sometime in 2022.
