Cyberpunk 2077 became infamous for its rough launch back in 2020, with the title having numerous game-breaking bugs that required a significant number of patches to address. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Cyberpunk 2077 went live in February, and the story behind an upcoming expansion appears to have leaked online.

The expansion will reportedly take players to the Combat Zone and Sports Dome, two inaccessible areas in Night City, and the Keanu Reeves-voiced character Johnny Silverhand may have a more diminished role and presence in it. As for the upcoming 10-episode Edgerunners series, it’ll debut on Netflix on September 13.

“In a dystopia riddled with corruption and cybernetic implants, a talented but reckless street kid strives to become an Edgerunner: a mercenary outlaw,” the synopsis for the show reads. Anime producer Studio Trigger–known for Kill La Kill, Little Witch Academia, and several other series–is handling animation duties and the show’s soundtrack has been composed by Silent Hill’s Akira Yamaoka.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was first announced in 2020 by CD Projekt as a show that would tie into Cyberpunk 2077 but would feature its own original location and characters. In case you missed it, you can catch the very-not-safe-for-work-trailer through this link.

The Jadeploom Terrorshroom is one of Genshin Impact‘s new normal bosses found in Sumeru after the version 3.0 update. But despite its name, this enemy isn’t scary in the slightest. In fact, it can be one of the easiest bosses in the entire game depending on your team comp. Here’s everything you need to know about the Dendro bird.

Where to Find the Jadeplume Terrorshroom

This boss resides in the northwest corner of Sumeru. Its icon on the map is located directly west of Chatrakam Cave. When you head over to its location on the map, there will be a portal waiting for you instead of the actual boss. Enter the portal using the Four-Leaf Sigil inside of it, and you’ll be transported to the boss arena. Be sure to grab the Teleport Waypoint behind you after arriving. Here’s what you should be looking for:

The Jadeplume Terrorshroom location and teleport portal

How to Beat the Jadeplume Terrorshroom

Use Electro and Dendro: These two elements come together to create the Quicken, Aggravate, or Catalyze reactions, which will cause the boss to go on a short rampage and use one of its three special moves. This sounds like a terrible idea, but once a special move is used, the bird needs to rest. The Jadeplume Terrorshroom will be immobile for about 15 seconds after each tantrum, providing the perfect opportunity to deal massive damage.Avoid using Pyro: Pyro attacks will cause the boss to become Scorched, which will lead to an annoying situation. When Scorched, the Jadeplume Terrorshroom shoots out seeds that become new fungal enemies. These fungi will harass you throughout the rest of the fight if they aren’t taken care of immediately. The Jadeplume Terrorshroom in its resting state

Jadeplume Terrorshroom Abilities

Normal attacks: The boss has a set of regular attacks it uses while not under the effects of any elemental reactions. These include a three-hit melee combo, homing projectiles, and a rain of spores that explode in an AoE.Enraged attacks: When the creature is hit with Electro and Dendro reactions, it will become enraged. Then, it’ll use one of three powerful moves before taking time to rest. These moves include a prolonged rain of homing spores, a bull-like charge, and a series of pecks that lash out in all directions.Scorched attack: As mentioned above, the Jadeplume Terrorshroom will shoot seeds that sprout into fungi enemies whenever it is hit with the Scorched reaction that comes from Pyro moves. Avoid this unless you don’t mind fighting a number of enemies at once.

Team Comp Suggestions

First character: The majority of the boss’s moves are close-range attacks, so the easiest way to defeat it while staying alive is to use long-range characters. Tighnari, Collei, and the Traveler can all apply Dendro effectively from a relatively safe distance.Second character: When it comes to Electro, Fischl, Yae Miko, and Lisa are good examples of characters who can do the same.Third character: Be sure to bring either a healer or a shielder to keep the team alive, just in case the worst happens. Diona can fill both of those roles, but Cryo can’t react with Dendro, so characters like Kokomi, Zhongli, Barbara, Noelle, and Shinobu are preferred.Fourth character: The fourth slot can be filled with an Anemo user to make reactions even stronger, or another Dendro or Electro character of your choice. A strong burst DPS is also a good idea, as they’ll come in handy when the Jadeplume Terrorshroom is immobile. Here’s a sample team comp:A sample team that focuses on Dendro, Hydro, and Electro reactions

There isn’t too much to remember beyond which elements to use and which ones to avoid. Attack the Jadeplume Terrorshroom from a safe distance, if possible, and bait out its enraged moves to capitalize on its long resting state. This fight should be over in no time.

We’re at the start of another new month, so that means that it’s time to claim some freebies on Xbox Store–if you’re a Game Pass Ultimate or Xbox Live Gold subscriber, of course. September’s Games with Gold lineup currently features Gods Will Fall and Thrillville. You can also still claim one of August’s freebies, ScourgeBringer, until September 16. Halfway through the month the lineup will refresh with Double Kick Heroes and Portal 2.

As a reminder, it’s the last month for original Xbox and Xbox 360 freebies in the Games with Gold program. But keep in mind that you will be able to keep all of the backwards compatible games you’ve claimed up until now, even if your Xbox Live Gold subscription lapses. That means Portal 2 will be free to keep, which is pretty cool.

Portal 2 is the star of the show in September. The classic puzzle-shooter is widely considered to be one of the best games of its era. The sequel expanded greatly on the already-brilliant foundation of the original. Featuring a campaign that’s roughly double the length of its predecessor, Portal 2 added some seriously great mechanics to the formula. If you’ve never played Portal 2, do yourself a favor and check it out next month. It even has a separate cooperative campaign that you can play alongside a friend. Portal 2 will be free in the back half of September.

Prior to Portal 2 landing on the service, you can add Thrillville to your Xbox library. Thrillville is an amusement park management sim that originally released in 2006. If you’ve ever played Rollercoaster Tycoon, Thrillville isn’t all that different, but it does have an actual narrative. Along with managing the park’s day-to-day activities, you have to complete missions to move on. There are five parks in total to oversee. Thrillville also has a bunch of mini-games that can be played solo or with friends. You can grab Thrillville until September 15.

We started with the backwards-compatible classics because they are just a bit more exciting than the Xbox One games for September. All month long subscribers will be able to claim Gods Will Fall, an action game that released last year. You play as a Celtic warrior in a fight against a numerous gods that control the world. Gods Will Fall does offer an interesting spin on the roguelike genre and features challenging combat, so it’s worth checking out if you like those sorts of action games.

Rhythm game fans should give Double Kick Heroes a try when it’s up for grabs starting September 16. This side-scrolling action game features musical instruments as weapons to stave off hordes of zombies. There are 24 levels with heavy metal music to work your way through. The soundtrack includes a handful of licensed tracks, and you can make your own music with the included level editor.

The beta for the next World of Warcraft expansion, Dragonflight, looks to be coming soon, as the current alpha build for the game on the Battle.net launcher has been updated to say “Dragonflight beta” instead.

Blizzard has not yet made an official announcement on when the beta will go live, but the company did make clear the game’s alpha testing period would be shorter than in previous expansions. Instead of dropping the entire expansion into alpha testing all at once, Blizzard has instead updated the alpha with new content on a near weekly basis. Blizzard previously said once the majority of the expansion’s content had been added into the alpha, it would usher in the beta, and that seems to be exactly what’s happening.

Once the beta is live, more players will be able to test out the new expansion, including features like the new Invoker class and dragonriding. Anyone can opt in for the beta, though not everyone who signs up will get access (at least at first). To sign up, you simply need to go to the official Dragonflight website and scroll down to the very bottom of the page. Click the beta opt-in button, sign in to your Battle.net account, and then you are good to go.

Blizzard will let you know if you get beta access, and you’ll be able to download the beta via a drop-down menu in the Battle.net launcher. To find the drop down menu, select any version of WoW (Shadowlands or Wrath of the Lich King Classic) and in the bottom left corner, under the “Game Version and Account” section, click the first drop-down arrow. You’ll see a list of game versions available to you, one of which will include “in development” builds you have access to. Once the beta appears on that list, simply click “install” and enjoy.

Dragonflight is still slated to release before the end of 2022, with a potentially leaked Activision Blizzard document pointing towards a late November release. Blizzard has yet to officially announce a release date. For more on WoW’s next expansion, check out our hands-on impressions with the Dragonflight alpha.

Each Guardian class in Destiny 2 has a specific idea behind it, and when it comes to Titans, that archetype is all about crushing enemies and scattering their ashes into the wind. With the Arc 3.0 subclass live and charged up for battle, Titans are now deadlier than ever before thanks to the lightning-fast mobility and aggression that they can take advantage of with that element.

While builds focused on Season of Plunder‘s new Titan Exotic, Point-Contact Cannon Braces, have yet to be fully realized due to that item being currently unavailable, there are other pieces of gear that can help create a powerful loadout. Here’s one such example, which prioritizes flexibility, agility, and transforming into a grenadier as you bounce around the battlefield.

Useful Exotics

Heart of Inmost Light is once again a popular choice for Titans in Season of Plunder, because when it’s paired with the right mods, you’re essentially able to spam a loop of abilities that have been amplified to lethal levels. If you don’t have it, this Exotic chest armor will empower your remaining two abilities after you use one of your subclass powers. Feel like smashing a Vandal captain with a Thunderclap melee? Then your grenades and class ability will receive a bonus buff. Want to kill several Hive birds with one arc grenade? Congratulations, your melee and barricade (or thrust dodge) are now empowered.

Empowered means abilities will have faster regen, melees and grenades do more damage, and Barricades have more hit points when you pop them up to take cover from enemy attacks. If you haven’t got this Exotic, you’ll need to grind through a Legend Lost Sector to stand a chance to add it to your collection. Remember, these Lost Sectors are much more challenging and you’ll need to equip several seasonal mods so that you can defeat the powerful champions lurking within them. For a more detailed breakdown, check out the guide on the Warlock Exotic Fallen Sunstar.

For your Exotic weapon, Thunderlord is a reliable option this season. Its Lightning Rounds perk allows it do extra damage by generating lightning strikes, its rate of fire speeds up when you hold down the trigger, and it has an intrinsic perk that makes it very useful when dealing with Overload champions. Great for clearing rooms and laying down covering fire when dealing with bosses, the machine gun’s catalyst Return Stroke will partially reload its magazine after it generates a lightning strike. Basically more heavy rounds being fired, more bolts of lightning hitting your enemies, and more devastation to look forward to.

For your legendary weapons, Season of Plunder’s pirate-themed gear is great if you manage to get one with a Right Hook attribute–dealing melee damage gives this weapon increased target acquisition and range for a short period of time–or the Voltshot ability that overcharges a gun and makes it apply Jolt to the next target.

Arc 3.0 Aspects and Fragments

For Fragments, you can equip Touch of Thunder and Knockout on this build. Touch of Thunder will make your Storm grenades deadlier and more persistent, while Knockout will reinforce your melee attack with beneficial buffs, such as a quick healing charge when you land the attack. Each Fragment has two slots for Aspects, so you’ll be able to max out your line of additional Arc 3.0 perks with these two items.

For Aspects, grab the Sparks of Resistance, Amplitude, Magnitude, and Shock. Spark of Amplitude will make your Storm grenade last longer and fire off more Arc bolts, Spark of Resistance will buff your Titan to withstand more punishment when they’re surrounded by enemies, Spark of Amplitude will create orbs of power after rapidly defeating enemies while you’re Amplified, and Spark of Shock so that your grenade can Jolt targets.

Useful Arc 3.0 Abilities

While it’s tempting to equip the new one-punch Titan melee Thunderclap, it doesn’t work too well for a build that’s focused on speed and power. Seismic Strike works well here, and coupled with its ability to blind surrounding targets after you tackle into an enemy, it’s great for charging into battle and carving a path forward for your Titan. Tying into that theme of maneuverability, throw on the Thruster class ability so that you can keep moving and dodge out of harm’s way.

Storm Grenade is a must here, as that particular ability can zap enemies into ashes when used properly thanks to all the setup being done here. It rains down lightning bolts and it chases after an opponent, making it great for dealing with those pesky Overload champions and other nimble foes. Once you’ve found your groove and have done the groundwork with your mods and abilities, you’ll be amazed at just how much damage a single grenade can do. Plus, you’ll be grabbing energy wells often and rebuilding your ability almost instantaneously.

For your Super, you’re good to go with either Fists of Havoc or Thundercrash. I’m choosing Thundercrash personally for its one-and-done approach and because nothing beats seeing a Titan yeet themselves directly at a very surprised Fallen Captain.

Useful Armor Mods

For your helmet (solar affinity will work best here) slot in two Ashes to Assets mods so that you’ll gain bonus energy on grenade kills and Elemental Ordnance so that you can generate an Arc well with every grenade kill. On your arms (Void affinity), use two Bolstering Detonation mods so that you can keep generating grenade energy when you get an explosive kill. Throw another Elemental Ordnance mod in for good measure.

With Heart of Inmost Light (Arc affinity), equip a Seeking Wells mod and throw on the Seasonal Thermoshock Plating mod for that added layer of protection. Resistance mods still seems to be bugged at the time of writing, so make certain that you use whatever space you have available to equip specialized defense mods here.

On your boots (Solar affinity), it’s time to start working on your recovery. Equip two Recuperation mods so that you start regenerating health whenever you pick up an orb of power, which you’ll be able to generate plenty of thanks to masterworked weapons and Spark of Amplitude. Don’t forget to attach a Bountiful Wells mod so that you can stack all of your Elemental Ordnance mods so that you can create an obscene number of elemental wells with each kill.

Lastly, your Titan mark (Solar affinity) can be slotted with a Bomber mod to reduce grenade cooldown when using your class ability and Lightning Strikes Twice from the seasonal artifact so that you can gain an increased recharge rate after using your Arc grenade or Arc final blows.

The strategy

With all (or most) of those items and mods, you’re going to be wielding an absurd amount of explosive power with your Titan. Heart of Inmost Light will buff your abilities as you use them, so stack the perk and make certain that you use your grenade last to get the most bang for your Arc buck. At Empowered x 2, your Arc grenade will cause significantly more damage, Jolt targets so that chain lightning to anyone near them, and you’ll regenerate your ability energy much more quickly thanks to the elemental wells that have been spawned.

With the grenade also scouring the environment for more enemies to kill, that just feeds into a loop where one ability always bolsters and empowers the unused powers of your Titan. You’ll be hitting harder, unleashing deadlier grenades, and dodging out of harm’s way while reducing your cooldowns massively. You’re also earning Super energy much more quickly thanks to the Ashes to Assets mods. If you’re missing a few of the listed mods, check in with Ada-1 in the Tower as she stocks new armor mods every day.

In Madden 23, whether you’re playing Franchise, an exhibition game, or Madden Ultimate Team, picking a playbook is one of the most important choices you can make to affect your in-game performance. While it might not seem like a huge deal – after all, how many possible plays can there be – but your team will likely benefit from a certain playbook over another. For example, if you’re planning to attack with a run-heavy offense, then picking a playbook that prioritizes play-action passes will not be of much help. As a result, you need to know which playbooks are the best for certain styles of play. In this guide, we’ll go over what we believe to be the best rushing, passing, and balanced offensive playbooks in Madden 23. We’ll be picking from both the official list of NFL team playbooks as well as some that were crafted by the community.

Best offensive playbooks in Madden 23

First and foremost, we’ll be listing the best official playbooks that you don’t need to go hunting for in the community tab of Madden 23. These playbooks will be separated by three categories: rushing, passing, and balanced. The best-balanced playbook is simply one that has a solid mixture of rushing and passing schemes that can be of use to most offenses.

Best rushing playbook: Baltimore Ravens

Kicking off the list is a tried and true playbook in any Madden title. The Baltimore Ravens are known around the NFL as the best rushing team, and for good reason. The Ravens hold the NFL record for most consecutive games with 100 yards rushing (43 games). Their Madden 23 offensive playbook is chock-full of various rushing plays that will surely trick any defense. One of the aspects that separates the Ravens’ playbook from other teams is the designed quarterback runs. If you have a mobile quarterback on your team, using Baltimore’s playbook will allow you to get that QB out in space and pick up huge chunks of yardage.

Of course, you can also use the plentiful RPO (run-pass option) plays to attack a defense based on how they’re lined up for a certain play. Aside from that, the Ravens’ playbook has just about every possible running play available in Madden 23. You’d be hard-pressed to find a better rushing playbook for an offense.

Best passing playbook: Kansas City Chiefs

Just like the Ravens and running the ball, the Kansas City Chiefs are arguably the best passing team in the entire NFL. No matter who’s at quarterback or at the skill positions, the Chiefs find a way to pass the ball with great efficiency. Much of this can be attributed to the offensive mind of head coach, Andy Reid, and that mind has been brought into Madden 23 via the Chiefs’ offensive playbook. Kansas City has several designed passing plays for every single receiver on the field, giving you a plethora of options when you drop back to pass. Most notably, though, the Chiefs do one of the best jobs at finding ways to get the tight end open.

Kansas City’s offensive playbook works at its best when teams have a speedy outside receiver to burn defenses with long routes while a strong tight end runs a route underneath. With these two positions so prominently featured, your second and third receivers should be able to find a soft spot in a zone rather easily. As expected, though, don’t expect too many rushing plays in the Chiefs’ playbook. Only use this playbook if you’re ready to sit back and test your quarterback’s arm strength.

Best balanced playbook: New England Patriots/Oakland Raiders

Mac Jones is at the forefront of the Patriots’ balanced offensive attack

If there’s one thing the New England Patriots know well, it’s consistency. For multiple seasons in a row now, the Patriots have had one of the best-balanced offensive playbooks in Madden. This year in Madden 23, it’s no different. With second-year quarterback Mac Jones at quarterback, New England relies on a package of quick throws, play-action passes, and designed runs to operate its offense. New England’s Madden 23 playbook features sets like Trips TE and Gun Bunch, which hold some of the best offensive plays in the game. These sets make use of every skill player on the field and feature a variety of different plays from both a rushing and passing perspective.

If you’re going with the Patriots playbook, prepare to see a lot of crossing routes with two of three receivers on the field. The Patriots also like to make use of their tight ends, so any multiple tight end set will likely yield solid results if players have strong players at that position. Of course, running backs will also have a field day with these sets, as there are more blockers on the field to clear a path.

As for the Oakland Raiders, one could argue they have a better overall offensive playbook than New England. While their plays are largely the same, the Raiders have stronger audibles when in certain formations. For example, the Raiders Bunch formation yields strong audibles, like Bunch Trail, Dig Return, Z Spot, etc., that aren’t available in New England’s audibles.

However, the playbooks are extremely similar and players will likely find success even if they choose one over the other. We tend to find that the Patriots have stronger rushing options while the Raiders have more passing formations that have become popular in Madden 23.

Most underrated offensive playbook: Detroit Lions

If you’re looking for an underused offensive playbook in Madden 23, look no further than the Detroit Lions. Despite having one of the worst rosters in the game (by OVR), the Lions have some key formations in their offensive playbook that make it one of the best balanced ones to use. In Madden 23, the Lions have the Trips TE, Gun Bunch, and Bunch TE formations out of the Gun, all of which are competitive formations in Madden. These formations will allow you to run a variety of plays that can beat both zone and man coverage. Also, if you’re looking for a formation to beat zone coverage, the Lions have Doubles HB WK out of the Gun. This formation has some great passing plays that find soft spots in most zone coverages. Detroit also has terrific audibles from these schemes in case a defense is in a formation that players might not like pre-snap.

While Detroit’s offense itself might not be salvageable in Madden 23, the team’s offensive playbook is one worth using if you’re looking for something new.

Best playbook to beat man coverage: Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers are always in contention under Mike Tomlin.

Finally, our last offensive playbook on this list is the Pittsburgh Steelers. This playbook made the list for one reason: It’s terrific at beating man coverage. Most playbooks are designed to beat zone, as it’s the most common scheme a defense will implement in Madden. However, if a defense decides to throw a man coverage formation out, it can sometimes be difficult to know what to run as an offense. Luckily, Pittsburgh has a fantastic set of plays to shred this coverage. The Singleback category in this playbook is what separates it from others. The Wing Stack formation has a flurry of passing and running plays that can pick up huge yardage against a man defense. There’s also a Jet Sweep that can be devastating if a defense isn’t ready for it. The passing plays mostly consist of post routes, so it’s best to have a speedy outside receiver that can burn a defensive back down the field.

The rest of the Steelers’ offensive playbook is fairly balanced, so don’t be afraid to use it with either a passing or rushing-oriented team.

And that does it for our list of the best offensive playbooks in Madden 23. If you want to read more Madden content, check out our guides on how to quarterback slide and how to celebrate, which includes how to do the Griddy.

We’re nearly at the end of the week, but the Wordle train keeps on chugging no matter what day of the week it is. We’ve returned to deliver another edition of our Wordle guides. This is the first puzzle of September, so it’s obviously a good omen for the rest of the month to get this first answer correct. In order to ensure that every player accomplishes that goal, we’ve put together a couple of hints that should allow players to guess the answer with simplicity. If you haven’t started the Wordle and want to make life even easier, use our recommended list of starting words.

However, if players are still struggling even after reading the hints, we will also spell out the full answer to the September 1 Wordle further down in the guide. So if you don’t want to be spoiled, don’t read below the hints.

Today’s Wordle Answer – September 1, 2022

We’ll begin with two hints that directly relate to the Wordle answer for today. They will not immediately give the word away, but will hopefully let players guess the answer themselves.

Hint 1: This word is the plural word for an organism that feeds on mold, yeast, etc. People will sometimes have this type of infection as well. Hint 2: This word has two vowels, one of which comes at the very end of the word.

If you weren’t able to guess the Wordle based on those hints, don’t worry, as we have the full answer right here. The full answer to the September 1 Wordle is… “fungi.” By no means an easy word to guess, as the spelling is quite unique and not something that most players will think of right away. Check back tomorrow for another edition of our Wordle guides to close out the week.
