Destiny 2 Cloud Accretions are a new resource that’s unique to Neptune’s city of Neomuna. Just like the Fundamental Osmium in the Witch Queen’s Throne World, harvesting these nodes is a great way to get some extra reputation with Nimbus, unlocking new activities, gear, and quests.

This resource also plays an important part in the Unfinished Business quest you get after completing the Lightfall campaign, which gives you that new exotic machine gun, Deterministic Chaos. If you’re still working through the campaign, then you might want to know how to solve that Headlong mission puzzle (opens in new tab) with the harpies.

A drying rack doesn’t immediately spring to mind when thinking about surviving a terrifying, cannibal-infested island. And while it’s going to do little to help ward off the danger of that particular threat, it can help with the less scary, but equally fatal, starvation. Basically, drying out your food will make it last longer, so you don’t end up with a rucksack full of rotten meat.

Of course, if you are after something to help you deal with the cannibal situation, this gun locations (opens in new tab) guide will set you up with some effective options. If you’d rather battle against that monster known as hunger, however, here’s how to make the drying rack in Sons of the Forest, as well as how to use it.

A new Gears of War game is in development at the Coalition and, per a bunch of new job listings and a loose-lipped series veteran, production seems to be ramping up. It’s on the one hand no surprise that the Canadian studio, which was established specifically to work on the Gears series, is working on the Gears series. On the other, we’ve heard barely a peep about the mainline entries since 2019’s (fairly good) Gears 5 (opens in new tab) other than a rumour that the series is getting its own Halo: MCC treatment (opens in new tab).

A series of job ads (opens in new tab) posted over the last month or two, the latest of which is for a senior gameplay designer, say the studio is hiring for roles on Gears of War and to “forge the future of the IP” (thanks, VGC (opens in new tab)). I’d say that future should be pretty obvious: Fleshy Locust belly, meet this cold-edged over-revved Lancer blade, then rinse and repeat while Cole Train shouts “woo!” in the background. Hey, maybe I could get a job there.

Stuck on the Headlong puzzle in Destiny 2 Lightfall? While the Neomuna campaign isn’t quite as packed with puzzles as the Witch Queen—Calus ain’t no god of trickery after all—there are still a few moments where you have to don your thinking cap and unravel a good old-fashioned riddle.

For those who are used to Destiny’s more cryptic raid and dungeon encounters, the puzzle likely won’t trouble you for long, but if you’re new to Destiny 2, then it might halt your progress for longer than you’d like. If you haven’t dipped into the new season yet, you might want to know how to get Defiant Keys (opens in new tab), too. Otherwise, here’s how to solve the Headlong puzzle in Lightfall so you can continue with the campaign.

How to solve the Headlong mission puzzle

During the Headlong mission, you’ll find yourself in the Liming Harbor area of Neomuna, near the entrance to the Thrilladrome Lost Sector. However, the entrance is sealed by a Vex barrier and you have to solve a little puzzle in order to get past it. After you’ve defeated the Vex minotaur and goblins hanging out at the entrance, four Cation harpies will spawn, but don’t kill these just yet.

Katie Wickens, person with opinions

This week I have been mostly playing Sons of the Forest. Although me and Kelvin have something special—he keeps crawling back even when I toss full-size logs in his face, ON ACCIDENT—I don’t think even the new best boi of video games (opens in new tab) can live up to my love of low profile keyboards.
This month I have been mostly testing keyboards.
My low profile board was pried from me last week. In it’s place, Razer’s newest Blackwidow offering. With linear yellows (gross, why, Dave?) and a line of macros on the left side, I’ve had to basically retrain myself to use it.

Before I fully barreled my way onto the PC hardware scene, I was rather partial to a chiclet keyboard—now hear me out. They were bouncy and felt faster to type on than any standalone keyboard I’d previously had my hands on. Of course, I now understand that past Katie was objectively wrong, and that mechanical keyboards are superior in every way to membrane boards. And yet, as I tapped away on my Razer clicky greens (I know, I’ve got my flaws), a part of me still pined for the short actuation of a chiclet board.

That is, until I finally got my hands on a low profile mechanical gaming keyboard. Little did I know this would be the start of a beautiful love affair.

It dawned on me this week, just moments after gnawing on the crispy arm of a guy that tried to kill me, that Sons of the Forest, the hardcore survival sim that’s currently dominating Steam (opens in new tab), is a deeply funny game. Not so much because of the cannibalism part (though I did chuckle the first time I barbequed a human limb for all of 12 seconds and then ate it whole), but because I then turned around to find my faithful but bumbling NPC companion Kelvin ankle deep in a pond, staring blankly at the water. He’d been trying to yank fish out of the pond with his bare hands, something I had asked him to do about 15 minutes earlier and then swiftly forgotten.

I felt bad, because Kelvin was clearly so desperate to please me that he wouldn’t let his lack of a fishing pole, hooks, bait, or functioning fish trap (opens in new tab) stop him from completing my arbitrary chore. I was on my way to give him a well-deserved pat on the back when I tripped over a fish. No, not a fish. It was 13 fish. A baker’s dozen of trout haphazardly piled behind Kelvin, who presumably didn’t have time to organize them because he’d just hoisted another from the water. Kelvin is a god of fishing! Of course he is! This game is so dumb. I’m into it.

Sons of the Forest isn’t just about surviving the great outdoors, it’s also about tangling with horrific cave monsters and cannibals. You’re going to want to load up on all the weapons you can find, including a selection of guns, bows, and some weirder melee options. We’ll list all the premade lootable weapons (not the crafted ones) for you here along with their general locations, which you can also reference on the interactive Sons of the Forest map (opens in new tab). Below that, we’ll go over the specific locations for some of the best weapons you’ll want to add to your arsenal.

Sons of the Forest slingshot location

The slingshot, which can be loaded with small rocks, is found on one of the three staked bodies outside the cave with the shovel. It’s an easy one to find early if you aren’t quite ready to hunt down the proper projectile weapons.

Sons of the Forest pistol location

You’ll find the pistol out on the same raft that’s marked by one of the GPS locators. It’s beside a dead body offshore of the beach on the western coast of the island. There are sharks out here in the ocean waiting to chomp on you before you reach the inflatable raft. You’ll find the pistol on top of a brochure.

If you want to complete the story in Sons of the Forest, you’ll need to be wearing a set of golden armor. But finding this set of armor isn’t exactly simple. On the plus side, there’s a fancy golden mask to go with it, which is found in the same location. But here’s the bad news: While the mask can be very useful, the armor itself isn’t going to protect you from much. As armor goes, it’s pretty weak and you’d be better off wearing something more durable.

But if you want to finish the game, you’ll need to be wearing the golden armor. Here’s how to find it.
