The newest upcoming Sims game, codenamed Project Rene but more generally referred to as Sims 5, is looking for a way to implement multiplayer, a new interview with VP Lindsay Pearson suggests. The Sims team is looking at different examples of multiplayer gaming styles to figure out how Sims fans can enjoy the next game with friends.
Speaking on the One More Life podcast, Sims vice president of franchise creative Lyndsay Pearson was asked about rumors that The Sims 5 would be integrating multiplayer for the first time in franchise history.

Now Playing: Behind The Sims: Project RENE! Infants and More!
“We definitely want to introduce multiplayer,” Pearson answered. “Not multiplayer in the big, scary ‘jump into a world full of strangers’ kind of way, but literally how do you and your friends want to play together? There’s a lot of different flavors that could take, so we’re exploring a lot of different spaces there, because playing together can look like so many different things.”
Throughout the conversation, Pearson had referred to an in-house practice of making sure new features feel appropriately “Simsy,” and any implementation of multiplayer is no different. “How do we figure out how to make a little bit of that chaos, a little bit of that fun, and a little bit of that positivity come together in a way that feels ‘Simsy’?”
The team working on Project Rene is having a lot of these discussions, Pearson says, including looking to other multiplayer games for inspiration. Animal Crossing is one that comes up a lot, she says. “We talk about Animal Crossing all the time, because it is such a good example of my little space, my little island–but I can invite you over,” Pearson explained. “We’ve seen throughout the last few years of Animal Crossing, people inventing ways to play together that the game doesn’t specifically support, but they’ve made up scavenger hunts, or … people who hosted talk shows in Animal Crossing, I think is incredible.”
Another potential inspiration mentioned by Pearson is Among Us, which she described as “this sort of mystery thing but you have to talk about it or solve it,” then asking, “what is the Simsy version of that?”
Pearson finished by saying that the Project Rene team will have more concrete details in future announcements, but it is exploring many different ways multiplayer could be implemented into the upcoming Sims sequel.
In general, Project Rene is intended to be a refresh of the classic Sims formula. “We’re really keeping the heart of The Sims intact but trying to think of new ways to bring it to players, to offer things you havent seen before in the Sims,” Pearson explained. “How do we rethink some of the core foundation of what it means to play The Sims?”
So far, early gameplay tests have shown experimentations with in-depth furniture customization, as well as giving a sneak peek at new interactions and animations. The Sims 5 will be the first main Sims title to launch as a free-to-play game, with EA saying it intends to monetize the title through selling content and packs–similar to the model The Sims 4 recently moved to.

With Invincible Season 2 releasing this month alongside Mortal Kombat 1 introducing Omni-Man to its roster of fighters, it seems more Invincible cameos are on the horizon. Fortnite’s next battle pass, expected in December, is said to also include the villain according to a recent leak, but fans have been quick to point out a flaw in Fortnite’s depiction of the comic book character.
According to some, Omni-Man’s Fortnite model has been nerfed. Specifically, his butt is much flatter in Fortnite than it is in the series and in Mortal Kombat 1. Twitter/X user DewEnjoyer did well to highlight the differences between Mortal Kombat 1’s Omni-Man character and Fortnite’s Omni-Man skin.
Omni-Man’s normally thick, large, and muscular butt is shown to be extremely flat in the Fortnite leak. Essentially, Omni-Man is being “nerfed” to many onlookers. Many social media users are replying with jokes and comments including the classic Godfather GIF, “Look how they massacred my boy,” as well as things like “[Fortnite] has stolen his butt.”
Even a video has been released with Omni-Man’s Fortnite model using an emote that allows him to squat. Even in motion, Omni-Man has very much had his butt nerfed.
With the uproar from countless fans and commentators on social media, it’s unclear (though unlikely) whether Epic will attend to the size of the baddie’s behind. Be sure to check out our Invincible Season 2 review, where Omni-Man remains adequately caked up.

We’ve had some great racing games this year, but for something different that fires on all precisely engineered plastic blocks, Lego 2K Drive is hard to beat. A mix of open-world racing in the same vein as Forza Horizon mixed with kart racing action, this delightful game just got a massive discount for Black Friday.
For the current-gen versions on PS5 and Xbox Series X, Lego 2K Drive is available for $35, while the Switch, PS4, and Xbox One versions are marked down to $30. The game normally retails for $60-$70, so getting a 50% discount is a pretty big savings here. In case you missed it when it first launched in May this year, Lego 2K Drive is a toyetic racing game that makes excellent use of the Lego IP to provide some robust building options.
Lego 2K Drive Black Friday deals
Sure, these are mostly cosmetic, but when you can put your stamp on your Lego vehicles of choice, they add some excellent personalization to the experience.
“Lego thrives on versatility and variety. The brand has become associated with everything from model towns to outer space to licensed franchises like Star Wars to original IP like Bionicle and Ninjago,” Steve Watts wrote in GameSpot’s Lego 2K Drive review. “Lego 2K Drive is relatively narrow compared to the wide array of Lego iconography, but that laser-like focus works in its favor. The team at 2K and Visual Concepts has made a great racing game first, allowing the Lego elements to organically add both an astounding amount of customization and flavorful visual flourishes to make a lively and enjoyable open-world driving experience.”

A new patch is out now for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, and it makes some notable changes. For starters, the November 15 patch raises the score limit for Team Deathmatch from 75 to 100.
Another significant change is that the minimap in multiplayer matches will know let you know if an enemy is above or below you. This has been bugged since the game launched on November 10, so fans are no doubt happy to see it finally addressed.
