Microsoft is holding an Xbox Games Showcase in June, which will be its first big online event featuring games from its still-relatively-new crown jewel, Activision Blizzard. It’s also teasing a follow-on presentation similar to the Starfield Direct stream in 2023 but focused on an all-new game, and while it’s keeping the title of that game under wraps for now, we’re pretty sure we know what it is.

First things first, the relevant details: The Xbox Games Showcase will take place on June 9, beginning at 10 am PT/1 pm ET/6 pm BST, and will be livestream on Twitch (and with ASL), YouTube, and Facebook. After the event, there will be a week of “updates and deep-dives on a ton of games” on the Xbox Wire website and the Official Xbox Podcast.

Blaze through your daily Wordle with a cheeky little peek at today’s answer. Or, if you’d rather take your time, feel free to take a look at our general tips or the clue written especially for the April 30 (1046) game. However you want to win, we can help.

Ah, so if it’s not that it’s got to be… no, never mind. I had that thought a few times in a row today, as four green letters sat next to one very stubborn grey. I would’ve liked to have wrapped this game up a little earlier than I did, but then again I’m not sure finding that last letter would have felt as good if I’d got the Wordle answer straight away.

Tactical FPS Gray Zone Warfare is set to launch in early access tomorrow. It’s an exciting release given this shooter’s mashup of Arma-style milsim realism and extraction gameplay, but the recent upheaval around Escape From Tarkov’s monetization catastrophe has all eyes on Gray Zone as a potential Tarkov killer.

There’s plenty of other heat in the extraction shooter realm right now, but Tarkov carved out a special niche with its highly realistic, modern military aesthetic and gameplay: time to kill in Tarkov is extremely fast, and bullet wounds have to be attended to lest you bleed out, leading to firefights that are as much about situational awareness and getting the drop on foes as they are fast twitch aiming. Underpinning that knife’s edge combat is an unforgiving, winner-take-all scavenger economy that turns every decision into a risk-reward gamble.

Intel’s forthcoming Lunar Lake CPU architecture, aimed at the low-power mobile market, will be the first processor to sport the chip maker’s Battlemage graphics chip. Very few details about the updated design exist in the wild but some early benchmark results (via Videocardz) have come to light, and they look very promising.

Lunar Lake will be Intel’s second generation of tile-based CPUs. Instead of using a single piece of processed silicon for the processor, it will be like the current Meteor Lake-powered Core Ultra series. Those chips have four tiles, one each for compute, graphics, system agent, and input/output stuff.

Start your Wordle week off on the right foot with our help. On this page, you’ll find all the tips you need to make every guess count, as well as a fresh clue for the April 29 (1045) puzzle. You can also find today’s answer, just in case you need it.

I knew it, I definitely knew it and I definitely could’ve had today’s Wordle cleared at least two guesses earlier if only I’d realised what I had in front of me a little sooner. It’s funny how all those little gaps and discovering the right letters in the wrong order can turn ordinary words into something so strange.

You’re now just a quick click away from the answer to today’s Wordle. You’re only a short scroll away from a heap of helpful tips and a guided clue for the April 28 (1044) puzzle too. However you want to win, we’ve got something that’ll help.

My first line wasn’t unhelpful, but it did leave me feeling pretty stumped. That green letter, there? And what to do with that yellow? So I decided to go wild on my second attempt, trying to boldly eliminate as many alternatives as possible instead of picking around the letters I had got—and immediately found every other letter I was searching for. Incredible.

It can’t be easy turning a board game into a book, though at least with a fantasy game there are plenty of fantasy novels offering a template to work from. You don’t get that if you’re asked to adapt, say, Power Grid. Given the task of turning children’s dungeon crawl HeroQuest into a book, Dave Morris decided to borrow from four existing templates: the verbose Vancian fantasy of the Dying Earth stories; the epic saga of Beowulf; the comic stylings of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld; and the twentieth century nihilism of Bret Easton Ellis.

No, you’re right. One of these things is not like the others.

A Baldur’s Gate 3 fan artist with the handle XunHe1145 has revealed a planned Stardew Valley – Baldur’s Gate 3 crossover mod to be made in collaboration with other artists. Baldur’s Village will feature Stardew versions of some of BG3’s companions in a new little town, complete with custom art and dialogue.

Off the jump, the pixel art portraits of Shadowheart and Astarion on display are real winners—my Stardew-loving other half informs me that a lot of custom portrait work for the game doesn’t quite capture the charm of Eric Barone’s original NPCs, but she really loved these interpretations of BG3’s companions. They’re a bit more realistic than the base Stardew characters, but still really capture the spirit: you could almost mistake these guys for an official crossover.

A week after a report revealed a site called Spy.pet that claimed to have scraped billions of public messages posted to Discord and was offering them for sale, Discord has banned multiple accounts connected to the site, which has now gone offline.

Discord said when Spy.pet was first reported that it was “investigating the matter,” adding that “if we determine that violations of our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines have occurred, we will take appropriate steps to enforce our policies.” And so it has: A new 404 Media report says Spy.pet was at one point scraping as many as 14,000 Discord servers, but that number had trailed down to 0 by April 25. The site itself is now offline.
