The award-winning co-op game It Takes Two is finally verified for Steam Deck, and no longer requires the EA App to play: It now makes use of the Steam friends list for sending game invites and joining up with other players, and uses Steam Cloud for saves. That’s good news for players but also bad news for anyone relying on EA App Cloud Saves, because, well, they don’t work anymore. (But don’t worry, there’s a workaround.)

It Takes Two, the tale of an unhappy couple who are turned into dolls by a talking book in order to save their relationship (yes, seriously), was a surprise hit in 2021: We called it “brilliant co-op adventure with a wild amount of variety,” and as if that wasn’t enough it also claimed Best Multiplayer Game at the Golden Joystick Awards and Game of the Year (along with Best Family Game and Best Multiplayer Game) at The Game Awards. It also holds a “very positive” rating across more than 141,000 user reviews on Steam.

Until now, the Steam release of It Takes Two has required the EA App launcher, which is kind of a headache, so it’s good to see that gone. Also good is that even with the EA launcher no longer required, you can still play with people through the EA App if you want to: “When inviting a friend to play, choose the ‘EA Friends List’ option in-game,” the update FAQ states. “From there, you can add their EA Account to your EA friends list, and send a game invite to them through EA.”

The one hitch in the plan is those EA App Cloud saves. If you have your It Takes Two saves on your PC, as God and nature intended, they’ll be automatically uploaded to the Steam Cloud when you start the game. But if, for some reason, you were relying on the EA App Cloud exclusively to store your saves, kiss ’em goodbye: “Due to technical limitations, save games previously stored in the EA App Cloud are no longer accessible,” EA said.

Trying to work out what you need to do before The Final Shape arrives? Bungie has put out a lot of info over the past few weeks about tweaks to weapons and various systems that are getting retired with the new expansion. It’s hard to keep track of exactly what’s staying and what’s going away when year seven of Destiny 2 kicks off.

Rather than trawl through every This Week in Destiny blog post, we’ve put together a little list of the six most important things you need to get prepped for the expansion, whether it’s spending your engrams before they disappear, or unlocking craftable weapons that’ll be much harder to get come release.

Focus your engrams

At the end of a season in Destiny 2, you usually have a stack of engrams waiting with Zavala, Shaxx, Banshee, The Drifter, and maybe even Saint-14 if you’ve been doing a cheeky bit of Trials. These all disappear when the new season starts, so you’ll want to make sure you focus them into any weapons or rolls you’re still looking for. Since it’s also the end of the year, that means seasonal engrams in the HELM are disappearing, such as:

  • Defiant Engrams at the War Table
  • Deep Engrams at the Sonar Station
  • Witch’s Engrams at the Ritual Table
  • Wish Engrams at the Spirit of Riven

Looking for a hint for today’s Wordle? Then you’ve got one. Waiting a little further down the page is a fresh clue for Wednesday’s game. Not looking for a hint, and would actually quite like someone to help you win this thing instead? No problem. The answer to the May 29 (1075) Wordle is here too.

It looked like I’d guessed my way into a tight spot today, but in truth I was exactly where I needed to be. Between the greys and greens I’d already uncovered, there was only one unlikely combination left by the end—today’s Wordle answer.

Volatile Air is one of the new crafting materials exclusive to the Cataclysm zones in World of Warcraft.  It’s used to craft various items, including gear and enchants, and it’s also required for at least one alchemy transmute, making it a pretty valuable resource.

Deathwing, caused a huge upheaval in Azeroth’s landscape, bringing big changes to the Horde capital Orgrimmar, and changing some other zones significantly. As well as the big, obvious changes that come with any expansion, all new Cataclysm-specific items and crafting materials have been introduced, too. In this guide, I’ll explain the best place to find Volatile Air and how to farm it efficiently.

Where to find Volatile Air

Volatile Air can be found in a few of the Cataclysm zones. For the most part, it is dropped by certain enemies but if you want a good amount of it, either for crafting or to sell on the auction house for extra gold, there are a couple of options available to you.

To me, Pine Hearts looked like yet another cutesy adventure game to pour a few hours into and leave with a warm fuzzy feeling in my chest. But the further I ventured into the sleepy scenery of the caravan park, the more heart-wrenching the story became rather than the heartwarming feeling I thought I was in for. The truth is, Pine Hearts at its core is a game focused around coming to terms with loss, no matter how many distractions you try and throw yourself at along the way.

When you start the game, your character—Tyke—has a single intention. You just want to climb the mountain and reach the summit. Unfortunately, you don’t have the right gear to do so and the only way we can get ahold of it is to explore the park. This is done through meeting the charming characters littering the map and helping out across various puzzles and fetch quests, all featuring humorous dialogue and interactions. I felt like each character I helped out became my friend, which started to build a support network for Tyke and his adventure.

There’s good news and bad news for Helldivers 2 players, although in this case they’re basically the same thing. The bad news is that 12 Super Earth scientists at a Dark Fluid Research Facility were, uh, “spaghettified” after the volatile material suddenly and without warning collapsed into a “micro black hole.” The good news is that this unfortunate incident has some players convinced that the arrival of the Illuminate, the so-far-absent third enemy faction in Helldivers 2, is imminent.

We will be talking about leaks and spoilers here, for the record, so stop reading now if you want to avoid such things.

The next Doom game will be titled Doom: The Dark Ages and revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase in June, according to a new report.

The report, which is from Insider Gaming and is unconfirmed, claims this new Doom game has been in development for four years, and will be set in a “medieval-inspired doom world”.

First reported by Ars Technica, ResetEra user delete12345 has made an interesting discovery about Steam libraries: we’re not allowed to bequeath them to our loved ones in the event of our untimely passing.

Delete12345 asked Steam Support about the hypothetical scenario, and got a clear, professional, but very disappointing response. “Unfortunately, Steam accounts and games are non-transferable,” the support rep explained. “Steam Support can’t provide someone else with access to the account or merge its access to another account.

I’ve really appreciated how Baldur’s Gate 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 treat us like adults: that’s right, baby, our RPGs have tasteful premium cable nudity now, throw that formerly de rigueur loincloth diaper in the trash and feel the breeze. Both games, however, have a censored mode for more impressionable audiences, and while Cyberpunk just slaps a pair of briefs on V and calls it a day, Baldur’s Gate 3’s solution had me cackling when I saw it in action.

Brave cyber sojourner Traditional_Put8471 on the BG3 subreddit went where no gamer has gone before, sampling the more chaste side of things in Larian’s notoriously horny masterpiece out of sheer curiosity. I turned the option on in my own game as well, and yep, it’s that simple: gone are Baldur’s Gate 3’s smorgasbord of customizable private parts, instead replaced with a wee fig leaf like something out of a cartoon.

She’s right behind me, isn’t she. (Image credit: Larian)

This really is the funniest thing Larian could have done here, another comedic coup from the masters of RPG slapstick. It feels perfectly of a piece with the studio letting us talk to all the animals in their games or shove any NPC into a bottomless pit, an indefatigable commitment to keeping it goofy that I will never grow tired of.
