Crashes and video bugs have plagued Fallout: London ever since it was first released. One of the worst culprits was even nicknamed the “train crash” as it occurred when players tried to board London’s underground. Instead of getting a quick ride through the apocalyptic city, games would just crash or freeze, even leaving some players’ characters with half their original HP. But now, almost four months later, Team Folon has finally come up with a helpful guide for players still struggling with these issues.

“A consistent issue for some users with certain AMD cards has been crashing when the game plays certain videos,” Farren Grey, a developer at Team Folon, says in a Reddit thread. “In particular, at the train crash near the start and the video that plays upon completion of the game end. We have been investigating this and put together the following solution document.”

On an average day about a dozen new games are released on Steam. And while we think that’s a good thing, it can be understandably hard to keep up with. Potentially exciting gems are sure to be lost in the deluge of new things to play unless you sort through every single game that is released on Steam. So that’s exactly what we’ve done. If nothing catches your fancy this week, we’ve gathered the best PC games you can play right now and a running list of the 2024 games that are launching this year.

Pirates are like vampires—they should make perfect videogame protagonists, but there are only a handful of genuinely good games about them. It’s tricky because we want such specific things from them. The ideal pirate game in my head is a raid-and-trade game of battle on the high seas, but also one of portside economic simulation; broadside-maneuvering but also dueling on storm-tossed decks.

Rogue Waters isn’t that imaginary game. It’s something altogether different.

Sit back, relax, and look forward to winning today’s Wordle. Whether you’re looking forward to reading a fresh clue for today’s puzzle, a few general tips, or you’d like to see the answer to the October 20 (1219) Wordle staring straight at you right now, we’ve got everything you need to win right here.

Four yellow letters? How does that even wo-oh, I get it.” And with that single, simple, under-caffeinated thought, today’s Wordle was won. I’m quite proud of myself for solving this one so quickly—I think I’ll head off and be annoyingly smug about it all day. Let’s hope tomorrow doesn’t make an effort to humble me for it.

I’m always down for a David Szymanski joint. The Dusk and Iron Lung dev has a real way with making games that feel good, no matter the genre—really tactile weapons and interactions, great sound design, just a general attention to detail—and his games always have an anarchic sense of humor that I really dig. Szymanski’s next game, Butcher’s Creek, feels like another winner. It’s a melee combat-focused first person horror game where you square off against torture cultists in rural Appalachia.

Like so many indies, it’s reviving a genre or idea that the big dogs Nintendon’t anymore. If Selaco is an indie celebration of Monolith’s F.E.A.R., Butcher’s Creek is taking another look at the studio’s other horror hit, Condemned: Criminal Origins. Condemned is a game where you’re an FBI agent framed for murder, so you have to fend off hobos with improvised weapons and get menaced by paranormal entities in the hopes of clearing your name.

And if you’d prefer something more to the point, or if you really need to turn a tough game around in a single row, the answer to the October 19 (1218) game is ready whenever you are.

Today’s Wordle didn’t really start coming together until the halfway mark, and even then it was something of a struggle. Who knew three green letters could leave me with so many possibilities? At least you don’t have to fight for the answer (not unless you want to); just take a look at today’s clue if you need a hand.

“The Emperor provides!” as the famous saying goes, and today the Emperor—in the form of Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment—has provided a 4K texture pack for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, a big-time graphical upgrade that promises to make your squad of Ultramarines look as pretty as they possibly can.

The 4K texture pack is free, and installing it is simple: Just download it from Steam or Epic and restart the game. But there are a couple things you should probably know before you go rushing off to click.

We’ve known that Subnautica 2 was in the works for some time now, with the official announcement actually being made via PowerPoint. And now, almost a year later, we’ve finally got to see the first trailer for the upcoming sequel.

Shown at the Xbox Partner Preview event last night, alongside games like Bloober Team’s Cronos: The New Dawn and Remedy Entertainment’s Firebreak, Subnautica 2 gave players a brief look at the underwater world alongside confirmation that early access will launch in 2025.

The answer to today’s Wordle is only a click away now you’re here, ready and willing to serve up Friday’s winning word in a quick scroll or click. If you’d rather take your time, we’ve also got plenty of helpful tips to mull over, as well as a freshly written clue for the October 18 (1217) game if you’d like a gentle nudge in the right direction.

I thought I was in for a quick and easy game when the first two letters of my first row turned green. I was wrong. So, so, wrong. Today’s answer dodged every attempt I made to uncover it, and only decided to reveal itself right at the end when I’d run out of alternatives and was more than a little worried that my win streak was about to go up in smoke. A little less stress tomorrow, Wordle? Please?
