Where Is Xur Today? (December 30-January 3) – Destiny 2 Exotic Items And Xur Location Guide
It’s the start of a new year, and if you’re looking to get ready for Destiny 2‘s upcoming Lightfall expansion, then you can do so in style now that Xur has returned to the Solar system. As usual, you’ll be able to acquire a range of classic Exotic gear from the arms dealer and several other legacy items to help complete your arsenal. Here’s where you can find Xur and what Exotics he’s selling this week.
This week you can find Xur in The Tower, inside the hangar. For his weapon, Xur is offering Prometheus Lens. Hunters can pick up the Shards of Galanor gauntlets; Titans can grab the Doom Fang Pauldron gauntlets; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Skull of Dire Ahamkara helmet.
Xur Location
Spawn in using the Courtyard transmat zone in the Tower to find Xur this week. Head left and down the stairs to enter the Hangar section, then hang another left. Make your way to the north end of the area and look for a staircase that will take you onto a catwalk, where Xur is waiting.
Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET each Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher’s Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.

Exotic Weapons
Prometheus Lens
The second Exotic trace rifle to be introduced to the arsenal of Destiny 2, Prometheus Lens is still a superb option for anyone looking to fire off a powerful beam of fiery energy. Since the Solar 3.0 rework this year, the laser fired from this rifle will apply a Scorch effect to enemies, and the longer you have it locked onto them, the more stacks you’ll apply to them for an explosive finish. Even better, every kill with Prometheus Lens will slightly reload it from reserves, making this a great tool for taking care of trash mobs or burning down resilient enemies.
Dead Man’s Tale
For this week’s roll of Dead Man’s Tale, there’s a pretty solid selection of perks. The key feature on this iteration of the Exotic scout rifle is Fourth Time’s the Charm, which will return two rounds to the magazine when you rapidly land critical hits. Combined with armor-piercing rounds and a reliable stock perk for stability, and DMT is a good weapon to pick up from Xur right now.
Hawkmoon
Hawkmoon works best when you’re landing those precision hits and stacking Paracausal Shot power for the final round, and this week’s perk makes that task a little bit easier. Rangefinder increases effective range and zoom magnification, allowing you to keep your distance while you line up that perfect shot.

Exotic Armor
Shards of Galanor
Xur’s Exotic offerings this week are themed around builds that amplify Super abilities, and for Hunters wielding Solar energy, the item up for grabs is Shards of Galanor. It has a scrappy look to it, but if you enjoy releasing a Blade Barrage, this is a great Exotic to have. If you use the Super to clear the room, you’ll be able to gain back plenty of your meter with the Sharp Edges perk, which refunds energy back to you depending on how many enemies you hit and kill.

Doom Fang Pauldron
Titans get Doom Fang Pauldrons this week from Xur, which is perfect for any Guardian who enjoys wrecking the battlefield with their Void energy super. Horns of Doom gives you Super energy for Void melee kills, and while Sentinel Shield is active, melee kills will also recharge Shield Throw and extend your Super on hits. With a melee-focused build using the right mods, you’ll be able to pop this Super frequently and use it to deal devastating damage.

Skull of Dire Ahamkara
Lastly, Warlocks can equip the skull of a dragon to their helmet and revel in the thrill of feeling unstoppable while hurling an orb of destruction. Actual Grandeur provides additional damage resistance during the activation of Nova Bomb, and for every enemy killed by the attack, you’ll gain back some Super energy in the process.
