Another day, another Wordle. It’s April 13 and here we are again, trying to crack a word puzzle. Is this how you thought you’d spend your days in 2022? Because it certainly isn’t how I thought it’d be. Let’s get down to business though. You know why I’m here and I know why you’re here: You’re looking for today’s Wordle answer and, would you look at that, I just so happen to have it here for you.

Before I go ahead and give you the answer, have you tried today’s puzzle yourselves? I got it on my last shot, but you all will almost definitely have more luck than me. Mostly because you’ll be using this incredibly handy guide, which you’re incredibly welcome for. A super successful round of Wordle starts with the perfect opening word, which I did not have this time around. Some people have been lucky enough to literally get it on their first try, but otherwise you want to pick something that’ll give you some indication of stuff like vowel placements. I always try crossing off each vowel before honing in on the final word. We’ve got plenty of great starting words and tips you can check out ahead of today’s answer, and maybe even a little sage advice from Wu Tang Clan if you’re lucky.

Today’s Wordle answer – April 13

You can scroll to the end if you just want today’s answer, but why not use a few hints first?

Hint 1: Today’s answer can be found in the name of an upgrade material from the most influential video game series of the last decade, Dark Souls.Hint 2: When you’re overpowered, you might hit an enemy and take away a sizable amount of their health bar. What’s another word for that amount?

Still not sure, what today’s word is? Alright, well if you’ve stuck it out this long, I guess you just want the answer straight up. The answer for April 13’s Wordle is…chunk. Yep, as in a titanite chunk or taking a chunk of a boss’ health! Come back tomorrow as we’ll have another round of Wordle hints–and the all-important answer–waiting for you.

Fireline Games has officially revealed Fueled Up, which combines salvaging spaceships with couch co-op elements.

Similar to the friendship-ending appeal of Overcooked, Fueled Up will see you and up to three of your fellow crewmates fuel, fix and recover damaged spaceships before the evil Space Octopus gets its tentacles on them. Along the way, you’ll need to deal with occupational hazards such as wormholes, asteroid showers, and horrible space squids.

If you fail to keep the engines fueled up, fix hull breaches, or extinguish fires, chances are high that the entire spaceship will explode. Other features of the game include both online and local multiplayer, solo play options, and controller-sharing between you and a friend for some more chaotic gameplay. Each level offers extra objectives to test your skills, in case you and your team are after an extra challenge.

Fueled-Up

Fueled Up will be coming to PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One later this year. Until it arrives, you can check out our feature on the best co-op games of 2021, which includes multiplayer heavyweights like Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, It Takes Two, and Dodgeball Academia.

A YouTuber has posted a 10-minute video detailing the steps needed to hook a Steam Deck console up to an external graphics card.

While the setup essentially robs the handheld gaming system of any portability–unless you’ve got really big hands that can hold both a Steam Deck and a GPU–it does provide a substantial boost in performance.

ETA Prime opened up the Steam Deck and removed the SSD storage from its M.2 expansion slot, replacing it with a Radeon RX 6900 XT GPU. After connecting the GPU to an adapter to make it fit, an external power supply was added and a copy of Windows 11 saved on a MicroSD card was used in tandem with games that were stored on an external SSD that was connected via USB-C.

The end result saw The Witcher III running at a 4K resolution on its highest graphical settings, with up to 108 frames per second. A later test of GTA V saw that game hit 70fps on 4K with high settings enabled as well.

The major hurdle in pushing the Steam Deck to its limit though–as ETA Prime found out–is its internal CPU. No matter how powerful the GPU attached to it, games will always reach a bottleneck of performance due to the 4-core and 8-thread AMD Zen 2 CPU. ETA Prime demonstrated this by showing Elden Ring running at max settings on 1080p resolution while hitting 46fps.

While the experiment was done for the sake of doing it, ETA Prime recommended that Steam Deck users avoid attaching an external GPU to their systems and rather enjoy it for the portable gaming experience that it was designed for.

In other Steam Deck news, a recent firmware update has made offline mode more convenient and Xbox Cloud streaming is now supported through the Edge browser.

In GameSpot’s Steam Deck review, Alessandro Barbosa called the device a “wonderfully constructed and powerful portable PC.” Preorders of the Steam Deck are currently going out in waves, with the second wave slated to begin rolling out in April.

While Uninterruptible Power Supplies are hardly a new thing in the PC space, the tried-and-true battery backups for desktop PCs have been undergoing a resurgence in popularity in recent years. Improvements in power delivery technology such as GaNs have been reducing costs and improving reliability, and meanwhile lithium-ion batteries, with their much greater energy density/lower volume, are starting to make inroads on the UPS market as well. All the while, with laptops outselling desktops in the consumer PC market, a PC that doesn’t shut itself down during a power outage is becoming the norm, rather than the exception. So what better time is there to take a look at UPSes?

To kick off our nagual UPS review, we’re starting with a 1500VA unit from BlueWalker. BlueWalker is a company that originates from Germany and specializes on the design and marketing of power-related equipment. The company was founded in 2004, making it one of the oldest household UPS/AVR manufacturers that still exist to this date.

BlueWalker is marketing their retail products under the PowerWalker brand name and has a very wide portfolio of both hardware and software products available. For today’s review, we are taking a look at the PowerWalker VI 1500 CSW, a 1500VA/900W UPS that boasts true sinewave output. Of particular interest with this UPS is the price: true sinewave units have historically carried a significant price premium, but BlueWalker isn’t charging nearly the premium as true sinewave UPSes from other major manufacturers, making the PowerWalker VI 1500 CSW a much cheaper UPS. But can it live up to the same power delivery expectations without the same wallet-busting cost? Let’s find out.

Final Fantasy XIV‘s Patch 6.1, dubbed Newfound Adventure, is out now and ready for players to explore a wealth of new content. The patch adds a bunch of new main storyline quests, a new alliance raid, a PVP mode named Crystalline Conflict, and more new content, as well as a bunch of quality of life updates and bug fixes.

With the new patch installed, players will be able to continue the story post-Endwalker in the Newfound Adventure quest, with 10 new main scenario quests added in total. A new alliance raid series called Myths of the Realm has also been added, seeing players investigating the mysteries of the Twelve. Check here for a more in-depth look at the story content being added in this patch and future 6.1X updates.

One of the major new features added in the 6.1 update is the new Crystalline Conflict PVP mode, which sees players engaging in tactical arena combat in teams of up to five players per side. Players will have to fight to maintain control of the Tactical Crystal, guiding it through multiple checkpoints to the team’s goal point. Crystalline Conflict unlocks upon completing the level 30 quest A Pup No Longer for your Grand Company.

Similar to the Feast, Crystalline Conflict has both casual modes and a ranked mode, with six ranked tiers including Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Crystal. Each tier except Crystal is further divided into a number of “risers” for players to progress through. Unlike the Feast, players won’t be demoted to a lower tier during the season, and instead will only lose progress within that tier.

Another major addition in Patch 6.1 is Duty Support, a system designed to let solo players tackle main scenario duties with the help of a team of NPCs. At first, only a certain number of the main scenario quests will be supported for Duty Support, with A Realm Reborn, Shadowbringers, and Endwalker included in that number. Duty Support for prior content and other expansions will be added in future updates. In all applicable duties, the Duty Support icon will be shown at the entrance, allowing players to choose to enter the dungeon with a group of NPCs.

The new update also adds a heap of new items, housing updates, and quality-of-life changes, as well as a handful of bug fixes. Check out the full patch notes here for more details on everything that has been added with Patch 6.1.

Studs are the main form of currency in Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. With everything costing thousands upon thousands of studs, you’ll run through them pretty fast. This guide will teach you how to properly farm studs so you can keep your pockets deep and the rewards unlockable. Here are the best ways to farm studs, as well as what sort of rewards you can expect to unlock with them.

Upgrades needed to farm studs

To farm studs efficiently, you’ll need to do a few things. The first thing you’ll need to have is the Attract Studs ability unlocked. It doesn’t matter if you have it upgraded or not; as long as you have the ability, you’ll be fine. It’s important to mention that you can still farm without the upgrade, but having it will make it significantly easier for you to gain studs in a hurry.

With this upgrade, you’ll no longer need to chase studs.

Where to Farm studs

Next, you’ll need to have Coruscant Federal District unlocked. But the catch is you’ll also need to have Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith unlocked because you’ll need to use the Walkers that the Clone Troopers have scattered around the district.

Now that you have all the requirements to farm, here comes the fun part. When you spawn in the Coruscant Federal District, you’ll want to find a Walker. Luckily there’s already one waiting for you next to the giant statues at the spawn point.

Once inside the walker destroy everything you see: flowers, crates, benches, anything that is breakable, and if you’re unsure if it’s breakable, shoot it a few times. If nothing happens, continue down your path of destruction. All the studs that break off will fly towards you because of the Attract Studs upgrade. If you happen to break everything in the Federal District, do a lap around the area, and it’ll all spawn back in, allowing you to do it all over again.

You can speed up this process, too, if you have the Rancor unlocked. It moves significantly faster than the Walker does. But to purchase it, you’ll need to complete the first level of Episode VI, Return Of The Jedi.

Now this is (not exactly) podracing.

After a few runs of this farming technique, you’ve easily raised enough studs to purchase whatever you want. And if you purchase any of the stud multipliers, You’ll earn a lot more than you would originally. The Fortnite deploy aquatic communication relays challenge near Logjam Lumberyard is a two-part quest in Chapter 2, Season 3 that rewards you with a significant amount of XP for relatively little effort. As with any challenge that takes you to the edges of the map, make sure to knock this one out shortly after you land. In most cases, the storm’s first shrinkage will cut you off from the Lumberyard and the quest.

How to establish a device uplink in Logjam Lumberyard

Unsurprisingly, establishing a device uplink in Logjam Lumberyard means actually reaching Logjam Lumberyard first. It’s in the map’s northwest portion, west of Shifty Shafts and right on the northeastern shore of the large lake. Your first task is just activating the uplink device. Head to the northeastern shore, near where the river meets the lake, and you’ll find the device projecting a blue hologram of a communication signal. Interact with it to get 23,000 XP and move on to the next step.

Logjam Lumberyard is near the northern edge of the map, so drop as close to it as you can.

How to deploy Aquatic Communication Relays near Logjam Lumberyard

Your next task is deploying three Aquatic Communication Relays around the lake. The relay spots are scattered in the water around the lake and are highlighted with a shining halo, so they’re hard to miss. As with other quest objectives, they also show up on your mini-map as exclamation marks. We found them mostly in the middle of the lake, just north and south of the river on each side.

Hop in a boat if you’ve got one or swim into the lake to find them. There are more than three relay spots in the lake, so just find the ones closest to you, and interact with them to deploy the devices. You’ll get another 23,000 XP and unlock the next quest in the Resistance Challenge.

Canadian game developer Beamdog has officially revealed MythForce, its latest game that is inspired by 1980s cartoons. Combining first-person combat in a roguelite adventure package, MythForce will launch into Early Access on April 20 as an Epic Games Store exclusive for PC.

“I’m beyond excited to finally show off our team’s original work,” Beamdog CEO Trent Oster said in a press statement. “MythForce is a feel-good game that speaks to the kid in us. In early access we want to collaborate with players who are excited by our wholesome, 80s vision for MythForce, and build up the best game possible. Community will be key to getting us to 1.0.”

For its early access release as Episode 1: Bastion of the Beastlord, MythForce will have four heroes to play as. Each hero has access to weapons and magic, which will be needed to survive increasingly difficult challenges set across Procedurally-generated maps that can be explored in co-op or in solo mode.

MythForce

If you’re interested in trying out MythForce, it’s now available for wishlisting on the Epic Games Store.

Beamdog had previously worked on bringing older RPGs such as Baldur’s Gate and Planescape: Torment to modern platforms, with the studio’s efforts being well-received by fans of the classic Dungeons & Dragons fantasy games. MythForce is Beamdog’s first original title since it was founded in 2009.

Some gaming tech experts think that recent gameplay footage of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 might look a little too good for the Nintendo Switch’s hardware.

In an episode of Digital Foundry Weekly–which regularly provides informative tech breakdowns on video game performance across multiple systems–and spotted by GamesRadar, DF members Richard Leadbetter, John Linneman, and Alex Battaglia analyzed the latest trailer for Nintendo’s Breath of the Wild 2.

Beyond a detailed look at how the game incorporates various technologies to make gameplay more vibrant and sharper than its predecessor, the group began to doubt if the Nintendo Switch can currently handle the upgraded graphics.

As Battaglia pointed out, volumetric clouds on Switch are rarely seen and perfect anti-aliasing–something even the Xbox Series X struggles with–also seemed to point at the sequel footage may be running on a more powerful version of Nintendo’s hybrid console.

As the group noted, this could also be a case of Nintendo simply rendering gameplay to look as good as possible for that particular trailer, although the company rarely does that and prefers to show an accurate representation of how its games run on the actual Switch hardware.

“It wouldn’t surprise me so much in terms of what the game is all about. I generally think that since they are delaying it now, I think this is going to be the equivalent of what we saw with Breath of the Wild where it launches on the old and also on the new,” Battaglia said, referencing the game’s simultaneous release across Wii U and Switch.

Currently, the Nintendo Switch is available as a handheld-only model, its regular hybrid version, and the OLED Model which features an upgraded screen and several quality-of-life updates. Breath of the Wild 2 was also recently delayed to Spring 2023, with fans currently speculating that Nintendo could be using the sequel as a launch title for the Switch Pro console.

A number of reports concerning the existence of the console have surfaced over the years, including one report that it was to be revealed last year at E3. That didn’t happen though, possibly due to the ongoing global semiconductor shortage.

For more on the game, check out GameSpot’s Breath of the Wild 2 trailer breakdown video and our Breath of the Wild 2 preorder guide.
