You’ve come for another Wordle guide and that’s exactly what you’re going to get on this fine Thursday. The puzzle on June 23 is, luckily, not as difficult as yesterday’s Wordle, which managed to trip up thousands of people. Don’t let that happen to you today; use the right starting word, follow our guide, and you’ll continue your streak without breaking a sweat.

For today’s Wordle, nothing too out-of-the-ordinary happened for me. I started off with a couple of words to get a few letters in the right places and then from there I plugged in two more words with those letters to get the right answer. Simple. However, you might not have the same good fortune as I did, which is why we’ve put together a couple of hints to help you guess the Wordle faster. If the hints don’t help, though, we also go over the full answer below as well.

Today’s Wordle Answer – June 23, 2022

We’ll begin with two tips to possibly get your mind thinking in the right direction with your guesses. However, these hints might not be for everyone, in which case we spell out the full answer further down.

Hint 1: This word might be used if you’re close to winning a match in a game like Call of Duty, Valorant, League of Legends, etc. but not quite at the finish line yet.Hint 2: This word was the title of a first-person shooter published by Bethesda in 2011. There were PvE and PvP elements in this game along with parkour-style movement.

For non-video game fans out there, those hints might not prove to be all that helpful. Luckily, you can see the full answer here… “brink.” We have one more Wordle guide for tomorrow to finish out the week, so come back and make sure you continue your streak.

Amazon has demoed a new experimental feature for its AI assistant Alexa, which allows the device to mimic the voice of a deceased relative. Shown off at its annual MARS conference, a video showed Alexa reading a bedtime story in the voice of a dead grandmother.

“As you saw in this experience, instead of Alexa’s voice reading the book, it’s the kid’s grandma’s voice,” said Amazon’s head scientist for Alexa AI Rohit Prasad (via The Verge). “While AI can’t eliminate that pain of loss, it can definitely make their memories last.”

Amazon claims that its system can imitate a voice with just a single minute of recorded audio, adding a human element layer to its AI systems. The company has yet to confirm if this feature will ever be made public, but there are alternatives in use today in the film and TV industry that are known as audio deepfakes. For example, small verbal flubs in podcasts can be fixed with software that allows an audio engineer to clone a voice and edit the line with an AI-generated replacement.

Prasad added that the feature could allow customers to have “lasting personal relationships” with deceased family members, and when combined with AI chatbots and video avatars, it’s an idea that is feasible. Whether people are ready to have one-on-one conversations with virtual versions of departed family members, is another question entirely.

Aspyr, developer of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II for Nintendo Switch, has offered a workaround to a bug that prevents players from completing the game.

Some players were unable to complete the story after encountering a crash following one of the game’s main cutscenes, taking place after the Basilisk Crash cutscene and landing on Onderon. The workaround requires players to access a hidden cheat menu and warp past that point, as Aspyr works on a more traditional fix for the game’s next patch.

According to Asypr’s website, here’s how to get around the crash:

Before the cutscene, navigate to the party selection screenTriple click left thumbstick to open cheats menuSelect warp and travel to OND504Wrap to a random location, and do not head to the merchant quarter (another crash occurs there)

This crash was previously thought to have affected all players of the Switch version of this Star Wars classic, but Aspyr clarified to Axios that only a small number of players were encountering the crash.

Aspyr has been behind many ports of classic Star Wars titles to modern platforms, including Republic Commando, Star Was Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, and Star Wars Episode I: Racer. The studio is currently working on a remake for the original Knights of the Old Republic for PlayStation 5 and PC, although no new details have been shared since its reveal.

The characters of Final Fantasy X are returning to War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, Square Enix’s free-to-play mobile gacha game. This is the third time FFX characters Tidus, Yuna, and Auron will be available in War of the Visions, with crossover events previously running in 2020 and 2021, and the game will introduce FFX summon Valefor as a vision card for the first time.

The new event is active now, and will run until August 2, giving players plenty of time to collect any of the FFX characters they don’t already have. Tidus will be available to all players for free as a login reward, while Yuna and Auron will be summonable through War of the Visions’ gacha system. All the limited-availability FFX units are classed as UR, or Ultra Rare.

The skills for the new and returning FFX characters can be found below:

Tidus (UR) Unit: Tidus is a mighty Water-type Ultra Rare (UR) unit, whose main job is Abes’ Star Player with sub-jobs of Paladin and Samurai. Through his Blitz Ace Limit Burst, Tidus deals 4-Hits of damage (L) to his target. His skills are Quick Hit and Hastega. Quick Hit deals damage (M) to a single target and lowers the target’s CT (S) while raising his own AGI for 1 turn, while Hastega bestows Haste on allies within the area around himself for 3 turns. Tidus is unique for having Hastega and a high ATK stat, and with his enhanced master ability, he’ll receive a higher Slash Attack Res Piercing Rate, Slash Attack Res, and Missile Attack Res.Yuna (UR) Unit: Yuna is a strong Light-type UR unit, whose main job is the Summoner of Spira and sub-jobs are Green Mage and Kotodama Wielder. Yuna’s Energy Ray Limit Burst deals damage (L) based on the caster’s MAG stat to targets in range & has a guaranteed hit. Her other skills are Reraise and Holy. Reraise bestows a status effect on the target which allows the unit to automatically recover from KO status once per battle (HP recovery (Min), and Holy is a guaranteed hit that deals Light damage (L) to targets based on the caster’s MAG stat and also bestows Reaper Killer on the caster.Auron (UR) Unit: Auron is a powerful Ice-type UR unit, whose main job is Legendary Guardian and sub-jobs are Pugilist and Soldier. His Tornado Limit Burst capabilities raise his own DEF Piercing Rate for 3 turns, then deals Non-Elemental damage (L) to targets within range. His God-Killer skill can destroy any barrier that reduces physical damage on target and can deal damage (M), while his Banishing Blade skill has a guaranteed hit and deals 2-Hits of damage (M) to targets.Valefor vision card: This vision card includes a Light-type esper of UR rarity. Its Evocation Magic, Energy Blast, deals a max amount of Light damage to its target and activates a Map Effect which increases the ATK and MAG of allies, and greatly reduces the Light Res of enemies.

War of the Visions is a free-to-play game with micro-transactions, available on the Google Play Store, App Store, and the Amazon App Store.

Shortly after Activision Blizzard shareholders voted to approve a report looking into the company’s anti-harassment efforts, the members also voted to approve its list of Board of Directors nominees–a list which includes current CEO Bobby Kotick.

According to a document filed on June 21, nearly 534 million shareholders voted in favor of the proposed Board of Directors while only 62.5 million opposed the motion and 2 million abstained. Suffice to say, the proposed item passed easily.

The vote comes after Kotick was repeatedly slammed for his part in maintaining Activision Blizzard’s toxic work culture. Last December, the CEO was accused of hiding what he knew about harassment and assault allegations, as well as threatening to kill an assistant years prior. However, despite employees–and shareholders–repeatedly calling for Kotick’s resignation, it looks as though he’ll be around through 2023.

As for if Kotick will remain CEO of Activision Blizzard, it’s still too soon to tell. Right now, the company is in the process of being purchased by Microsoft in a historic $70 billion dollar deal. Some reports claim Kotick will receive a “$15 million dollar golden parachute” following the purchase and his exit is imminent, while others are unsure about what will happen following the acquisition.

Earlier this month, Activision Blizzard released the results of its own internal investigation via its investor site. While the report did acknowledge individual instances of harassment, it claimed there was “no evidence” that senior executives ignored harassment or concealed information from the Board.

It looks like bunny hopping won’t be as viable a strategy in Apex Legends Mobile going forward, as developer Respawn is going to nerf the move. The change will be made in the game’s next update.

“We have seen some interesting clips of players conserving momentum through [bunny hopping], making for some wild movement,” Respawn wrote on Twitter. “The amount of momentum conservation through this tech, however, was never intended, so a fix for this will be included in our next update.”

Bunny hopping is a technique that can be pulled off in many first-person shooters, where players rely on momentum, crouching, and repeated small jumps to move around. It’s a very popular technique in Titanfall 2, allowing Pilots to move about the map more quickly than just sprinting and making them smaller targets that are more difficult to hit. The same can not be said for Apex Legends, where legends don’t quite move with the same acceleration as Titan Pilots.

Like Titanfall 2, bunny hopping has been an extraordinarily useful tactic in Apex Legends Mobile since day one. In Respawn’s mobile battle royale, being able to successfully pull off the technique can make you extremely difficult to hit, which has created frustration in the community. It’s good to see Respawn finally address it.

With its most recent Persona games, Atlus has landed on a stylized presentation that elevates its beloved RPG franchise, making it as cool to look at as is it is enveloping to play. Twenty-five years after its predecessor was first released and a decade after it made its way to North America on the 3DS, Soul Hackers 2 gives a sci-fi twist to Atlus’s stylish sensibilities and potentially gives RPG fans a different take on what they already like about the developer’s titles.

Soul Hackers 2 is the follow-up to Demon Summoner: Soul Hackers, itself a sci-fi spin-off in the Shin Megami Tensei franchise. GameSpot got to spend a few minutes playing Soul Hackers 2 at Summer Game Fest 2022, where we got a quick sense of how the game will play. According to Atlus, while the first Soul Hackers had a pretty hardcore RPG bend that might have turned off some players, the sequel is looking to be a little more welcoming, while also seemingly borrowing a lot of what works from recent successes like Persona 5 to present a new story.

While it’s a sequel, Soul Hackers 2 is its own story, set in the same world as Soul Hackers but without continuing that tale. It’s also looking to provide players with a somewhat more mature story than, say, the Persona games–with Soul Hackers 2, you’re dealing with a group of characters who are older, rather than those making their way through high school. But this is also a supernatural sci-fi RPG, so expect some fantastical elements; for instance, there are demons, and you summon them.

Our hands-on time didn’t provide much of a sense of the premise of Soul Hackers 2 or its overall story. You play as Ringo, a character created by a sentient artificial intelligence and dispatched to stop some coming event from ending the world. As you might expect, you recruit other characters to join the ranks of your team, including rival factions of devil summoners, who wield the ability to make contracts with demons and harness their powers.

Demons are at the center of the game, giving you powers in battle like magical spells, provided you can get them to join up with you. For instance, we entered a dungeon and dispatched our demons ahead to check the place out. Exploring along the way, it was possible to meet up with our demons, who had found items or intel about the dungeon. Sometimes, one of your allied demons might find a demon to meet you, giving you the opportunity to recruit them to the team, as well–provided you can do what they ask. As we ventured through one dungeon, a pig-like demon was willing to join up as long as we were able to give him a couple of tasty items from our inventory. The demons on your team allow you to equip attack skills to your characters, so having a good variety helps make you more effective in different situations.

You also fight demons throughout the game, and we encountered a version of the pig demon in the dungeon before one decided to join us. Enemies appear as characters walking around dungeons as you explore them, and while you can hit them to knock them down or dodge around them as you’re moving through an area, touching one sends you into a turn-based battle. Soul Hackers 2’s fights are all about uncovering information about your opponents and then exploiting their weaknesses with elemental attacks. A regular melee attack might do minimal damage against one kind of demon, but another kind that’s weak to that type of attack takes massive damage.

Every time you exploit an enemy’s weakness, you earn one “Stack” point, as well. At the end of your turn, Stack points are automatically used to summon your demons, who then lay into your opponents–basically earning you a powerful bonus attack. This “Sabbath” adds more demons the more Stacks you manage to build up during your attack phase, so the more intelligently you fight, the more devastating your end-of-turn demon strike.

Managing your demons goes beyond just recruiting them when you find them in the world. You can also use various crafting materials to “fuse” two demons together, creating something new. We briefly saw the fusion system in action, picking two of our lesser demons to make a stronger one. The system gives you the option to customize your creation based on the demons you used to create it; each demon has a set of abilities, and when you make a fusion, you can choose which of those original abilities to bring over to your new demon to customize it as necessary.

As you might expect from an Atlus RPG, while combat is a big part of Soul Hackers 2, you’re going to be spending a whole lot of your time engaging with the game’s characters. Enhancing your relationship with your teammates is an important part of the experience, not only because it expands on the game’s story, but also because it empowers you in battle. During our hands-on, we were able to initiate a Hangout session at a bar with one of our teammates, Arrow, starting a conversation to get to know him better. Your choices through dialogue during these moments can allow you to deepen your relationship with characters–make choices that lead to them trusting you more and considering you a friend, and you’ll increase their Soul Level.

You’ll also increase your Soul Levels with teammates as you progress through Soul Hackers 2’s story, depending on the choices you make along the way. It sounds like doing so will have some combat benefits as your group becomes a stronger team. It definitely has story benefits, too; Atlus said during our hands-on time that increasing your Soul Levels with different characters can even unlock access to new physical locations, as well as more story for those characters. Overall, it sounds like investing in raising your Soul Levels is going to pay off with more time with your characters to build relationships, and potentially, more story for the game overall.

Our look at Soul Hackers 2 was a brief one, but despite the abundance of features like fusion and demon negotiation, it does seem pretty approachable, even for players who aren’t super-familiar with SMT, Persona, and Atlus’s brand of role-playing game. Battles are straightforward and easy to understand, while still rewarding you for smart play and tactical thinking. But the most interesting part of Soul Hackers 2 seems like it’ll be the game’s dedication to its characters, with plenty of room to invest time in getting to know your team and the world they inhabit.

Soul Hackers 2 is headed to PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on August 26.

Call of Duty Season 4 is now live in Warzone with the Mercenaries of Fortune update, which introduces the brand-new Fortune’s Keep Resurgence map. This new small-scale Warzone map has plenty of areas to explore, and a few Easter eggs have already been uncovered. Here we’ll guide you through completing these for yourself.

Fountain loot Easter egg

Winery fountain

The fountain in Fortune’s Keep is located at Winery, and here you can manually drop some of your hard earned cash into the fountain to get rewards. Players are claiming the more money, the better the rewards. For my attempt, I dropped $4,000 into the fountain. I got audio and visual cues that the Easter egg works, but the only thing I received was the heartbeat sensor equipment. This was not a great deal, but maybe I just need to offer it more cash for the good stuff like perks and scorestreaks.

Spawn a zombie, get a perk

Tombstone for spawning a zombie on Fortune’s Keep

Another Fortune’s Keep Easter egg involves spawning a zombie at Graveyard. In order to complete this, you’ll need to light three candles found in and around the area’s mausoleums.

You’ll get an audio cue after all three candles are lit, which then means you can go to a tombstone and receive a prompt to “Press F to pay respects.” There are several tombstones that look alike, but the one you’re looking for is shaped like the photo found above, and it’s located just near Graveyard’s fountain. Interacting and paying your respects will spawn one undead enemy. You’ll be rewarded with a self-revive item drop for killing the zombie after you spawn it.

It’s definitely worth noting that this isn’t your typical Call of Duty zombie enemy, as this Warzone zombie hits hard and is a total bullet sponge. He was hard to kill even with a decent assault rifle, so be prepared before you spawn him. It doesn’t look like this Easter egg can be repeated, so it’s likely only available once per match.

A secret Keep vault

A third Easter egg requires you to collect wine bottles to open a secret vault. Collect two bottles from inside various rooms of the Terraces, and then take them to the neighboring Keep POI. These bottles are usually found on tables and bookshelves around the rooms. You’ll place them on the long dining table inside the Keep.

Wine bottle found at Terrance

Accessing this area fast can be tricky in a match where everyone is trying to kill you, and using the interior staircases and ladders gets a bit confusing in such a massive building. The easiest way seems to be taking the ladder on the exterior of the building (the side closest to the Terraces POI) and going up to the second floor of the Keep. From there, you should be able to quickly locate the Keep’s dining area. It’s a really long dining table at the center of the room with paintings and other items sitting on the tabletop. Here you can place the wine bottles, then turn around to find a secret passage that has slid open from the wall’s shelving.

Dining table inside Keep

Inside the secret room you’ll find loot, such as legendary rarity weapons, a combat shield, scorestreak, throwable weapons, and more. You’ll want to gear up fast here, as the loot in this room seems to despawn pretty quickly.

In addition to Fortune’s Keep, Warzone’s main map also received some major landscape changes. Make sure to check out our complete guide to new and updated POIs for Caldera. There is also a limited-time event currently active in Warzone, and here we detail all the challenges and rewards for Mercenaries of Fortune.

One area of AMD’s portfolio that perhaps doesn’t garner the same levels of attention as its desktop, mobile, and server products is its embedded business. In early 2020, AMD unveiled its Ryzen Embedded R1000 platform for the commercial and industrial sectors and the ever-growing IoT market, with low-powered processors designed for low-profile systems to satisfy the mid-range of the market.

At Embedded World 2022 in Nuremberg, Germany, AMD has announced its next-generation of Ryzen Embedded SoCs, the R2000 series. Offering four different SKUs ranging from 2C/4T up to 4C/8T, which is double the core count of the previous generation, AMD claims that the R2000 series features up to 81% higher CPU and graphics performance.

The AMD Ryzen Embedded R2000 Series compared to the previous generation (R1000), now has double the core count, with a generational swing from Zen to the more efficient and higher performance Zen+ cores. All four SKUs announced feature a configurable TDP, with the top SKU, the R2544, operating at between 35 and 54 W. More in line with the lower power target of these SoCs, the bottom SKU (R2312) has a configurable TDP of between 12 and 35 W.

Another element delivering additional performance compared to the previous generation is better iGPU performance via increasing the number of Radeon Vega graphics compute units. The entry R2312 SKU comes with 3 CUs, while the R2544 comes with 8 CUs. The Ryzen Embedded R2000 series also benefits from newer video decode and display processor blocks, bringing support for decoding 4Kp60 video and driving up to three 4K displays.

AMD has also equipped the SoCs with 16 PCIe Gen 3 lanes on the R2314, R2514, and R2544 SKUs, while the R2312 gets eight. The R2000 series has support for two SATA 3.0 ports, up to six USB ports with a mixture of USB 3.2 G2 and USB 2.0, and OS support for Microsoft Windows 11/10 and Linux Ubuntu LTS.

The application benefits of AMD’s Ryzen Embedded R2000 series include the commercial and industrial sectors, as well as robotics, with a planned product availability of up to 10 years, ensuring a long life cycle for each product. Some of AMD’s Ryzen Embedded R2000’s Ecosystem partners include Advantech for its gaming and gambling machines, as well as DFI, IBASE, and Sapphire, so these new SoCs are already being adopted and planned into existing thin-client and small form factor systems.

AMD states that the Ryzen Embedded R2544 (4C/8T) and R2514 (4C/8T) will be available sometime in October 22, while the R2314 and R2312 SKUs are currently in production.
