Cyber Monday gaming monitor deals

The current Cyber Monday gaming monitor deals going into the weekend are all still matching what was left over from Black Friday. And it would be easy to assume that all the biggest discounts will have been dropped for the main Black Friday event, leaving us to sift through the dregs on Cyber Monday and through Cyber Week.

But there are retailers who will hold back products specifically so they can resurrect deals that might have gone off the boil on Black Friday proper. So, rest assured there’ll be new gaming monitor deals popping up even once the sun has set on Black Friday.

Cyber Monday gaming PC deals

The Cyber Monday gaming PC deals are already taking the same form as the Black Friday gaming PC deals (opens in new tab); a host of last-gen stock being sold off with varying levels of discount. Which is a double-edged sword, to be honest. On the one hand it means you can track down rigs with still relevant gaming hardware at a great price, but on the other there are over-priced systems with weak specs lists baiting the unsuspecting buyer.

But that’s why we’re here, still casting our eyes over what the world has to offer the discerning gaming PC purchaser and making sure we only surface the best offers for you lovely folk. ‘Cos we’re good like that.

The weekend should begin with a win, so come on in and browse through my daily collection of Wordle tips and clues designed to make today’s puzzle go just the way you want it to. Need more help? No problem. You’ll find the answer to the November 26 (525) Wordle just below.

After the absolute state of my Wordle gaming the past couple of days, today’s early win felt like something of a relief—I needed that. I did manage to spend a go skilfully avoiding the most obvious answer with a wild guess that only very slightly helped but still, that was much better.

There’s a lot of stuff that’s annoying when someone is hacking. Sometimes, however, people use the power of hacking for a laugh. A goof. A ha-ha. Such seems to be the case, at least so far, with the advent of flying boats in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.

For the last few days, videos like the one above have cropped up of cheaters,  hackers, what have you, floating about in the latest version of Warzone. While it’s annoying that people are cheating, this is in fact extremely funny. My favorite video, embedded above and also on YouTube (opens in new tab), features a jankily floating boat crossing the sky before exploding, all set to a gruesome recorder performance of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie theme.

Beta tests often function separately from full game releases—that is, what you do in the beta won’t count when the full game comes along. The good news for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide (opens in new tab) players is that any progress they make in the ongoing pre-release beta will carry over to the full game when it launches on November 30.

Fatshark left some doubt in an update posted yesterday, November 24, saying that it wanted to allow beta progress to carry over to the full release, but couldn’t guarantee it. “The reason is that we are still using this period to test our progression systems, and we want to reserve the opportunity to change or reset things in the event something unforeseen or critical happens,” the studio wrote.

I love student games for two reasons: They’re usually really cool proofs-of-concept and they’re usually free.

So it is with Witchpunk, a free game that hit Steam this month made by a team called 99% Funk at the DigiPen Institute of Technology. In it, you lay down some sick arena combat against corporate demons as you shred around on your witchy skateboard while bashing robots with your giant, magic hammer and/or spraypaint.

Witch Mollie’s biggest trick is that she deals more damage as she picks up speed, letting her get real fast in order to lay out a really big smash. So, as you might imagine, doing something like grinding down the subway rail, or blasting off a ramp, lets you splatter enemies with delightfully high-speed hammer attacks.

Levitation, a mod that continues the story of Valve’s hit VR game Half-Life: Alyx, is now available on Steam (opens in new tab). The mod picks up right after the events of Half-Life: Alyx, bringing the titular character and her pal Russell back to City 17 to save her friends, and possibly the whole resistance.

Half-Life: Alyx – Levitation has gone from announcement to completion in very short order, especially in comparison to the development of the game itself: It was only revealed (opens in new tab) in April this year. The final result is scaled back a wee bit from what was initially promised—the story is expected to run 3-4 hours, rather than 4-5—but even so it sounds like a very beefy experience, with eight levels featuring new voice lines and character animations. The launch trailer looks pretty great, too.

The full breadth of Black Friday PC gaming deals (opens in new tab) is a lot deeper than one single website—we’re tracking loads of great prices direct from manufacturers this year—but it must be said Newegg’s Black Friday deals are some of the best you’ll find all year.

Newegg is a great starting point for deals, and odds are it’ll be the only stop you have to make to check off your 2022 wishlist. This year, the spotlight is on the surprisingly low prices we’re seeing for gaming laptops and 30-series graphics cards. My face is already turning a jealous shade of green seeing sub-$1,000 prices on the same machines that I paid hundreds more for a year ago.

A good gaming headset can immerse you into the gameplay and let you communicate with other players clearly, but they can be expensive. Luckily, Logitech’s G435 Lightspeed gaming headset is down to just $50 at Amazon (normally $80) thanks to Black Friday.

The G435 Lightspeed is a lightweight, over-ear headset that connects wirelessly to PS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices via an included Bluetooth dongle. It also supports Dolby Atmos and Windows Sonic surround sound for more accurate sound staging.

(Don’t worry Xbox owners, plenty of Xbox-compatible headsets are on sale for Black Friday, too.)

As for the headset’s build, it sports a memory foam-padded headband, breathable earcup cushioning, and weighs just under 6oz. That should keep the headset comfy even during long play sessions.

Speaking of which, Logitech says the headset’s battery will last up to 18 hours on a single charge, and you can quickly and easily recharge it with the included USB cable. As for the mic, the G435 uses dual noise-canceling microphones that are integrated directly into both earcups, rather than sticking out from a mic arm, giving the headset a sleek look.

Amazon is selling the discounted headset in three color schemes: Black (with tiny lime green accents), Blue (which has hot pink earcup fabric and a purple headband), and White (which has pale blue padding). You can also pair the G435 Lightspeed with the Logitech G305 wireless mouse for just $86.88 (normally $130).
