The Finals, the highly-destructible FPS from ex-Battlefield devs, surprise launched at The Game Awards last night. The shooter had just recently ended a very successful open beta that attracted hundreds of thousands of players, but many (myself included) wondered if Embark Studios still planned to get the game out before the end of 2023. Now it’s here, and launch day is going well: The Finals is one of the most-played games on Steam right now, peaking at over 200,000 concurrent players on PC alone.

There is one hangup, though—a lot of people aren’t happy that Embark slowed down player movement between open beta and launch. The pushback is strong enough that The Finals currently sits at “Mixed” on Steam with over 3,000 negative reviews, and a lot of them are about movement.

Locating some Flexwood in Lego Fortnite is a necessary midgame step if you want to craft a Rare Pickaxe and keep climbing the resource ladder to improve your village. Unlike Fertilizer or Shells, you won’t need to find Flexwood until you’ve upgraded your workbench to at least Rare level, but it’s one of the more confusing resources to locate.

If you haven’t tried Fortnite’s new Lego-based mode yet, it’s way bigger than we expected. In fact, it’s essentially an individual survival game in its own right, with resource chains and different biomes to explore. Either way, here’s where to find Flexwood in Lego Fortnite and harvest it for yourself.

It’s no secret that The Game Awards plays host to more world premiere trailers than it does awards, and 2023’s edition was a pretty packed evening. Surprising no one, Geoff Keighley scored the reveal for another Kojima game that looks even more surreal than usual, and we also saw new projects from Hello Games, Arkane, Dontnod, and more, along with some surprise launches.

We’ve rounded up the full list of The Game Awards winners from this year if you care to see who added the most trophies to their trophy case (do you even need a hint?). Down below, find the brief on each non-award-related game that turned up to the show, what was announced, and when it’s launching. Here’s every trailer and announcement from The Game Awards 2023:

The Walking Dead: Betrayal, a social deception-survival game about zombies and worse (the “worse” in this case being non-zombified other people), is coming to a premature end. Skybound Games and developer Other Ocean Interactive announced today that it has decided to halt development of the game, which just launched in early access in September, and remove it from Steam completely.

“Despite the hard work put into the game, we were not able to find a path to build the spirited community of backstabbers we originally envisioned,” Skybound wrote. “On December 11, we will begin the process of removing the game from Steam, and as of December 15 the game will be shut down. All players who purchased the game will receive a full refund.”

I’m typically sceptical of trailer scrubbers—and there are a hell of a lot of them with Grand Theft Auto 6. Can’t blame them, obviously, it’s been 10 whole years since we last got a GTA game.

But they’ve really been ravenous this time—drawing circles around moles, driving up Spotify numbers, and having some would-be players questioning their mortality. A game trailer shouldn’t be giving you an existential crisis, but as you’re about to find out, it got me pretty close.

I know it’s hard to believe but GTA 6 isn’t the only game that got a new trailer this week. Today the former Riot devs at Treehouse Games released their own trailer for 16-player co-op survival game Voyagers of Nera.

Coming to early access in 2024, you’re invited to grab your friends, explore the world, battle monsters, and build a huge base together on your very own tropical island. Check out the trailer below, which was shown today at the Wholesome Snack showcase:
